Our conversation with the Sherry twins was by far one of the best conversations Miles and I have had the chance to have on this podcast. The numbers don't lie as this was the first episode to eclipse nearly an hour! Gavin and Callum are an enthusiastic brother duo and brought their honest selves to this conversation giving us a plethora of fascinating stories from their time as runners. These two are down to earth guys who are genuinely excited about growing the promise of northeast prep running and take pride in serving as role models to younger runners coming through the northeast prep system (They are waiting for the young guns to break their records!). The sky's the limit as to what the future holds for Gavin and Callum at Stanford and we are so excited to see the great things these two will do next! After a long break from having Garrett on the show, we are glad to hear from him once again as he has inducted himself into the Sub-4 club for the mile and recapped us on the Golden Bears cross-country and indoor track season. In addition, we also looked ahead to some bigger team and personal goals heading into this outdoor track season. You can also hear about his killer pre-race playlist, his dream Cal race uniform, and a deeper dive into his racing headspace both times he dipped under the four minute mark. We will be rooting for Garrett as he begins his quest to the NCAA Division 1 Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas! The energy was unmatched in our conversation with Yaseen & Dylan as they brought a humorous back-and-forth chemistry to the episode. Both guys have just come off setting incredible PB's at the BU Terrier Classic, earning themselves various conference, school, and even a Sudanese national record for Yaseen. Having the opportunity to hear their first-person perspective on each of those historic races added an enlightening touch to those already quick marks. In addition, our conversation with these two provided a new clarity on their respective experiences in the NCAA Transfer Portal, interactions with University of Tennessee coach Sean Carlson, differences in their progressions as runners, and breakdowns of their buildups to success in championship races (for Yaseen, a Big12 5k Championship victory, and Dylan, becoming the 2022 NCAA 10k outdoor champion).  You can find The Run Fast Podcast on Instagram: @therunfastpod Find Yaseen: @yaseenaabdalla on Instagram & YouTube at Yaseen Abdalla Find Dylan: @dylan_jacobs24
The opportunity to speak with a northeast running legend, and Footlocker All-America turned-D1 athlete at Princeton was a chance that Miles and I had to jump at. Our conversation with Matt brought about compelling stories of navigating the academic and athletic rigors of attending an elite prep school like Loomis Chaffee, his bond with Olympic athlete Donn Cabral, and many more experiences at his level of the sport that many can take a learning lesson from.  You can now find us on Instagram at @therunfastpod Find Matt on YouTube: Runners High
Miles and I are grateful to take the opportunity to chat with two of the most prominent names in the running scene today and for the foreseeable future in Lex and Leo Young. In high school alone, these two have accomplished feats that many dream about and few will ever achieve. This conversation brought about compelling stories which highlight how the brothers developed their love for running through watching their older brother, Nico, their discovery of the standard of performance necessary for excellence, a bit more insight into the Newbury Park running culture, and much more! Who would have thought that these twins discovered the valuable skill of accountability through working manual labor around their neighborhood! All in all, the compelling stories and experiences that these two took the time to share with us will hopefully help all those who are listening gain a greater understanding about who these two brothers are now, and what they strive to be through their experiences in running.  You can find Lex and Leo on Instagram: @_leo.young @lex_young_
