Human civilization is built on pyramids. Not just the stone ones baked under the Egyptian sun, but invisible structures of thought, meaning, and awareness. From raw impulse to true revelation, most people never make the climb. Despite unprecedented access to information and powerful tools, society still operates at the lowest levels of thinking. Not learning, but repeating. Not understanding, but regurgitating. Why that is, and what it takes to move upward, is the question.
There’s a strange shift happening in how we talk about emotions. On the surface, it sounds healthy. Emotionally intelligent. Even enlightened. But beneath the polished language is something far more unsettling.Words that were meant to heal are now being weaponized, used to confuse, divide, and shut people down. Therapy-speak has become social currency. Emotional intelligence has turned into a performance. And everyday disagreements are increasingly framed as abuse. When did self-awareness become a competition? When did healing language turn into a way to win arguments? And what happens when normal human conflict gets pathologized? This video explores how our emotional vocabulary is changing and what it’s costing us.🎧 Watch, reflect, and decide for yourself.
Consciousness doesn’t make sense.Sights. Sounds. Smells. Texture. The warmth of love. The sting of sadness. The cold weight of heartbreak. Why do we experience any of it?Why does it feel like something to be you?Why is there a voice in your head, a sense of self watching the world go by?And how does a single life turn into a continuous story, unfolding through time? This episode explores the strange, unsolved mystery of consciousness and what it means to be aware at all.
You’ve probably felt it before. You take a photo after a great night out. You’re about to post it… and then something twists in your stomach. A quiet voice asks, “Why am I doing this?”Some people ignore it and post anyway.Others pause and choose something different. They put the phone away. They keep the moment to themselves. This episode explores the psychology of people who don’t post their lives on social media, in a world where sharing no longer feels like a choice. Why do some people resist the urge to post? What do they see that others don’t? And what can the rest of us learn from them?To understand that, we first have to understand how we got here.
Reality doesn’t make any sense. And I don’t mean that as an exaggeration. We know more about the surface of distant planets dozens of light years away than we do about our own existence. We understand more about the forces that govern black holes than we do about why we have a sense of self. The thing we call “reality” collapses under even the slightest scrutiny, yet it’s something every single person who has ever existed has experienced. That’s the paradox of reality, it’s simultaneously the most familiar and the most mysterious thing we’ll ever encounter. 00:00 The 7 Levels of Reality02:09 Level One - Consensus Reality06:23 Level Two - The Realm of Perception09:00 Level Three - The Realm of Belief11:30 Level Four - The Realm of Science14:50 Level Five - The Simulation Layer17:04 Level Six - Mystical Reality19:02 Level Seven - The Unknowable Realm

When trying to understand nihilism holistically, we run into some problems. The first is that the concept is ambiguous. It can refer to a lack of belief or ideology, and it can also refer to this lack of ideology as an ideology. That’s the difference between someone being disillusioned and rejecting a belief system and someone choosing to embrace nothingness as a belief system.
If you knew you’d be subjected to eternal torture because you DIDN’T do something, you’d do it, right? What if that something was aiding in the development of superintelligent AI? Would you still step up and help? This question is presented in one of man's most terrifying thought experiments.
What if the universe is a simulation? Or perhaps the most advanced civilization is out there, waiting to be discovered? From the heat death of the cosmos to the deadliest forces lurking in space, we’ll explore the most mind-bending ideas about our universe’s end and everything in between. How big is it really? And how does the James Webb Space Telescope change everything we know? These are the secrets that could redefine everything.
Stoic philosophy has persisted throughout history because it offers a framework to deal with every human's obstacles. This is the entire history of Stoicism, from Zeno to the modern day.
Each one of us experiences the world through our own unique lens, shaped by our past, beliefs, and personal encounters. What we perceive as truth is often a reflection of these filters, and what we believe to be absolute truths can sometimes be nothing more than illusions we’ve come to accept.
What drives you? How do you differentiate between needs and motives or motivations? When we are not aware of needs, we act based on our feelings, thoughts, habits, or impulse. In essence, each of these types of motivation can serve as a way to deny our responsibility for our choices.Support: https://www.patreon.com/ApertureYTWebsite: https://whatifshow.com/category/aperture/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@ApertureScienceMerch: https://shop.whatifshow.com/collections/aperture
We’re all pretty used to rain. We’re either prepared for it with an umbrella or raincoat or just get wet. Rarely does it genuinely upset us. But what about when it rains for days, and the streets flood, so you can’t go outside? Or when you realize you can’t afford the interest rate on that home you want to purchase? How do you react when your investments plummet in value? Or you’re laid off without severance? These are genuine modern problems that plague us at every turn. Problems that haunt our nights with nightmares and fill our days with despair. But it doesn’t have to be this way. We can learn to remain grounded despite all the problems plaguing our society today. This is how to become stoic in the modern world.

“People simply empty out. They are bodies with fearful and obedient minds. The color leaves the eye. The voice becomes ugly. And the body. The hair. The fingernails. The shoes. Everything does”. Does this sound familiar? A long day looking in front of the computer screen causes an aching feeling behind the eyes. Your legs turn to jelly after spending a long shift behind the cash register. Your skin becomes pale and grey with too much time under fluorescent warehouse lights. The 9-5 continues to diminish our morale and humanity. Why are we doomed to this unsustainable way of life? And who is Charles Bukowski.

If nothing matters and we’re all just specks of dust floating through space and time, what’s the point in trying at all? Building healthy relationships with friends and family doesn’t seem worth it because, in the end, everyone you know will die anyway. All attempts at self-improvement are futile because, in the Universe’s grand plan, none of it matters. Even if you’re not all doom and gloom, there’ll be days when getting out of bed will seem pointless. Where life itself will seem kind of pointless. And the current state of the world, with issues like the climate crisis, the rise in extreme politics, and economic instability, doesn’t help our psychological state.
