For this special St. Patty’s Day episode, The Boys line up 3 Irish whiskies - all from Jameson.  Matt brings the standard Jameson: a whole 50ml airplane bottle.  Drew shares some European finds: Jameson Crested, and what he was told was a DUB airport exclusive, the Jameson Single Pot Five Oak Cask Release. Grab some Irish whisky, invite your friends, listen and sip along while The Boys enjoy some Jameson and tangent on Biathlons, Pulp Fiction, The Big Short, Smoky And The Bandit, Yuengling Beer and footsie. Thank you to Irish Tenor, Paddy Homan, for our opening.  And as always, thank you Joby of Fourche Creek Podcast for the jingles and songs! May the luck of the Irish enfold you, May the blessings of Saint Patrick behold you, and may you Make It A Happy Friday!™ Slainte!
For today’s episode, The Boys are sipping on 3 blanco tequila’s poured blind out of a possible 5 bottles, plus an extra 4th glass at the end. After tasting and rating and guessing, the reveal is surprising and rewarding as always. For the fourth glass, Drew challenges Matt’s palate with an interesting spirit that Drew poured without Matt’s knowledge. You’ll have to listen to the end to see how it goes, when they eat up all your crackers and your licorice. So gather your friends, pour some tequila, maybe make it blind, listen and sip along and Make It A Happy Friday!™
For this show The Boys pair a rye you might not know (but should) and a limited edition tequila you might not find (but should).  The Catoctin Creek Roundstone Rye is a 100% rye mash bill and the Mijenta Blanco blends agave from all five states of the official regions of production. There’s a long tangent about limited editions, allocations, the Bourbon arc vs the Tequila arc, Fear Of Missing Out, advertisers, haters, influencers, taters, piñas, industry/market predictions and no real solutions to any of it - if you dare! The only fact we can all agree on is this:  your tasting notes are valid because they are yours. Both spirits are loaded with complex and delicate flavors, but you’ll have to hang on to the end to see how the QuickSips™ turn out. Grab some whiskey and some tequila, invite a friend, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday!™
Welcome to another episode of Whiskey Tequila Fridays, the show where Matt *usually* brings a whiskey and Drew *usually* brings a tequila.  But with Drew out of commission, Matt invites his Wheaton Whisky Club partner, Jeff Huber, for a chat and a sip. So, if you are a member of the Wheaton Whisky Club, you are in for a treat.  And if you are not a member - why not?!?  Go to Facebook groups and search "The Wheaton Whisky Club" and join for free! Listen along as these two friends catch up in the New Year with what’s new, what was great about 2025, and what’s coming up in 2026. If you’re dry like Jeff, grab a soft drink.  If you’re imbibing like Matt, grab a Tequila or a Whiskey (or both).  Either way, invite your friends, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday!™
Happy New Year and Welcome to another year of pairing some great spirits together! For this show, the Boys sip on bottles that both came from Drew’s shelf: The 10th Anniversary American Single Malt from 10th Mountain, which was bought at the gift shop during a trip to Vail, CO, and the Cambio Tequila Blanco Cellar Series - #4 El Corazon, which was purchased at Sabor y Cultura in Chicago.  Come along as the Boys rant on Dry January, Drew recommendations more Christmas movies, Joby Holland of Fourche Creek lends his musical talents, there are some fantastic QuickSips™ and so much more! You might not be able to find these exact bottles, but you can definitely get the regular American Single Malt from 10th Mtn and the regular Blanco from Cambio (which the boys cannot recommend enough).  So scoop 'em up, invite your friends, listen and sip along, and as always: Make It A Happy Friday!™
The Boys with you all a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! For this show, Matt presents Drew with a gift and pairs his Torabhaig Sound of Sleat Batch Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky with Drew's Prolijo Tepeztate Joven Mezcal Artesanal. Sit back and enjoy this Festivus Miracle of fruit and barley and agave and smoke! Grab a whisky, grab an agave spirit, and relax to the sounds of Joby Holland’s holiday tunes and the boys ridiculousness while they taste through these special spirits. The Boys would like to thank their family, friends, followers and fans and wish you the happiest of the Holiday Season and a Wonderful New Year. Salud! Cheers! Slainte!
Pull up a seat and join the Boys as they pair up a couple of bottles that are worth celebrating. Did you know that the Eagle Rare name is fifty years old this year? Well, the Uncertified Whiskey Hunter knows and he’s excited to talk about it. Drew found a real ‘dusty’ on the shelf and it celebrates the 50 years of the El Tequileño distillery.  It’s no coincidence that it’s getting close to Christmas, and these spirits are loaded with some sweet and spice and everything nice to warm your bellies and put a glow on your cheeks. You might have a hard time finding these bottles, but that shouldn’t stop you from grabbing a whiskey and a tequila and sitting down and hanging with the Boys for a spell. Hopefully this episode puts you in the Holiday Spirit and helps you Make It A Happy Friday!™
For this Black Friday Episode, the boys sip on Maracame Tequila Plata and a Bardstown Bourbon Single Barrel from the Sycamore Whiskey Club. One bottle had been on Drew’s shelf for 4 years, and the other bottle had been on Matt’s shelf for 4 days. As usual, the conversation wanders between relevant and random things like the new Agave Matchmaker app to RoboCop and beyond. The boys are busy spending the Thanksgiving break with their friends and families, and they hope you are as well. Black Friday sales abound, so grab a whiskey, a tequila, gather with friends and family, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday!™
For this Thanksgiving-themed show, the Boys pair some Wild Turkey 101 8-Year with some Tejitas Anejo while they sip, discuss and laugh their way through one of their favorite holidays. Be sure to listen to the QuickSips™ for a little special twist. No matter what you pour yourself, we ask that you take a moment to be thankful for all that you have, listen, sip along and Make It A Happy Friday!™
Today the Boys make more cocktails! After what may be the longest cold open in history, Matt brings a Rittenhouse Rye (Single Barrel from Bourbon Belly Group), Drew brings Tres Agaves Reposado (because the grocery store didn’t have what he originally wanted) and Joby brings his wonderful cover of Bobby McFerrin's “Don’t Worry Be Happy” (if you’re too young to remember Cocktail the movie, we’re sorry).  These concoctions are crushable sipping drinks you will want to try for your next get together. So gather your mates, make some cocktails, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday!™
Happy Friday, Friends, and welcome to a special Bonus Episode of Whiskey Tequila Fridays! It's no secret the Boys love Tom Hanks.  They talk about him almost every episode, but none of it makes the final cut.  Until today. Today the Boys share two of those Tom Hanks Geek Outs from the many they have recorded! So grab a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of tequila, invite your friends, listen and sip along, ponder the wonder that is Tom Hanks, and Make It A Happy Friday!™
For this Happy Friday, Matt brings a single barrel pick in collaboration with Malloy’s Finest and the Wheaton Whisky Club from the great state of Colorado. Drew brings a reposado that is anything other than “standard” from the great NOM 1123.  They tangent a little with some current spirits news, with nothing more than some opinions and well wishes. When they finally get to the QuickSips™ - well - you’ll just have to listen to find out. So invite your friends, sit down with a Laws whiskey, a Legado tequila, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday!™
For this Beginner Buy the Boys pair a bourbon Matt cut his teeth on as a young whiskey wanderer - Jim Beam Black (now a 7 year aged stated bourbon) and a tequila Drew discovers has a mistaken label - Tequila Cultura 100 Reposado (actually 86 proof but with an original 80 proof label). You may need to turn your volume up when the boys get a live FaceTime call while recording from Brad Niccum of Taste Tequila with Brad, while they try to solve the mystery of the mistaken label. The QuickSips™ are always good, but even better when the bottles are affordable, available and quality. So find these bottles, listen and sip along and Make It A Happy Friday! ™
The Boys finally pair the remaining Great Lakes Tequila Club pick with a whiskey, and it definitely gets adventurous. Matt talks way too much about a type of whiskey that he is not that fond of (Canadian) while Drew reveals he knows too much about Costco’s rotisserie chicken profits. If you stick to the end, you might hear the boys sip on some things that are not exactly whiskey and not exactly tequila. Something in the future, maybe? Unless you are in the Chicago area, you might not get these exact bottles. However, the Boys invite you to find a whiskey and a tequila, invite your friends over, sip and listen along - and Make It A Happy Friday!™
Well, y'all, today may be the day the Boys break the internet with a show that has never been done before.  The first of its kind.   A little more than a year ago, the Boys opened two fresh bottles.  Matt uncorked a Michter's Unblended American Whiskey and Drew broke the seal on a Tequila Don Fulano Reposado.  They recorded that fresh neck pour and then put the bottles aside.  But then they did what has never been done on any spirits podcast: They revisited them every few months, recording how the bottles changed over the course of a full year. And so here it is, a full year in the making, the full arc of two spirits from neck pour to bottle kill! The QuickSips™ are too numerous to describe, but believe me, the Boys found another beautiful pairing! These bottles are on the shelf, so scoop 'em up, fill your cup, invite your friends, listen and sip along and Make It A Full Year Of Happy Fridays™!
Today, the Boys imbibe on some bottles with bits of blackberry and barrel funk. Matt’s barrel strength bourbon was a purchase from Slightly Toasted in Chicago, and Drew’s Anejo was a gift from the folks at NOM 1414 at the Sabor y Cultura event in Chicago about a month ago. Find some similar bottles, invite your buds, plop down, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday™!
Hello and welcome to a special anniversary edition of Whiskey Tequila Fridays.  Today, the Boys celebrate 3 years of shenanigans with three special QuickSips™! Find out what their three favorite pairings of the past year were as the Boys recap the past years' episodes, tastings, and guests, and also tease a little of what's to come. Grab your favorite QuickSip™ from the past 12 months, invite your friends, share a pour, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday™!
For this episode, the Boys pair a couple of spirits that scream summertime. Against Drew’s initial thoughts, Matt brings a 120 proof Single Barrel from Malloy’s - Rebel Bourbon Cask Strength. Drew bings a Suerte Reposado at 80 proof. With tons of fruit and flavor, these two spirits pair great together.  By the time they get to the QuickSips™, Drew becomes a convert. If you want to find out for yourself, pick up these bottles, invite your friends, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday™!
Hello and Happy Friday!  This episode is a first for the Boys: Their first appearance on another podcast! A few months back, the Boys had the pleasure of sipping blind with Brad Niccum, host of Tasting Tequila with Brad.  Brad's show is a fun mix of tequila reviews, guest interviews, and informative content.  For this episode, he invited the Boys to sip a few blancos blind, and the results were surprising.  You'll have to listen to find out what happened! Find Brad everywhere on the interwebs by visiting his website: https://tastingtequilawithbrad.com And find our episode on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/u7kBc1Dcq-A?si=4dtZpkpujezqTcxL Help support our community!  Please like, subscribe, and follow Brad wherever you get your podcasts. This one was a lot of fun!  Why not scoop up a few blancos yourself, invite your friends, blind those pours and see what happens.  Then sit back, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday™!
Today, the Boys explore two bottles with deep layers of complexity, or Complex on Complex.  Matt brings a mouthful: Cedar Ridge American Single Malt Whiskey Quintessential Single Cask Malloy's Anejo Tequila Cask Finish.  You work up a powerful thirst just reading the label!  It has so many complex flavors, and at 122 proof, this one packs a punch. Drew brings the Cambio Tequila Anejo, which also boasts complex flavors.  This brand is quickly becoming on of the Boys' favorite, and at 92, the extra proof doesn't hurt. The QuickSips™ bring cascading layers of flavors, and both Boys decide one way is a clear winner. It may be hard to find this exact store pick, but Cedar Ridge is out there, as is Cambio Tequila, and both at great prices.  So scoop up these bottles, invite your friends, listen and sip along, and Make It A Happy Friday™!
