It wasn't a picture-perfect performance Sunday vs. the Titans, but the 49ers returned from their bye week energized and executed when they needed to on their way to 37-24 victory at Levi's Stadium. Offensively, they looked sharp and scored on their first five possessions. Quarterback Brock Purdy threw for three touchdowns and zero interceptions as Ricky Pearsall finally broke through with a team-high 96 receiving yards and Jauan Jennings added two touchdowns. San Francisco's defense was tested, however, and will need to promptly turn things around with three regular-season games left and a ton on the line. The 49ers enjoyed a bump in their playoff position without lifting a finger in their bye week, the last of the NFL season. The other teams battled it out in a blockbuster of matchups with gargantuan postseason implications across the board in both NFL conferences. In the NFC, the Green Bay Packers leapfrogged the Chicago Bears to take the No. 2 overall seed while dropping their division rivals to the seventh and final wild-card position, a precipitous fall for an opponent in one afternoon of work. The 49ers will play those Bears in a Sunday night clash in Week 17, which surely will intrigue. But, first come the Tennessee Titans in a matinee next Sunday, a potent opponent with nothing to lose. On this episode of "49ers Talk," co-hosts Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan look ahead to San Francisco's final four games, a stretch that will test it in all phases and could define the rest of the team's entire season.--(2:00) 49ers were guaranteed to move up at least a position following Packers-Bears outcome(4:00) Rams, Seahawks still pacing the NFC West with 10 wins, but 49ers remain in the mix(10:00) How will the 49ers, Saleh respond to rush-dominant game plans against them?(11:00) Rookie and locker-room favorite Alfred Collins will be key to stopping the rush(18:00) Looking ahead to the final stretch for NFC opponents and their schedules(19:00) 49ers avoid tough end-of-season matchups unlike last season(20:00) Why can’t 49ers run the table to end the season as No. 1 seed? The 49ers, on Sunday, notched their first three-game winning streak since the opening three weeks of the season and won in Cleveland for the first time since Nov. 1984. The 49ers' latest win was exhibition in execution from the kickoff as they played complimentary football in all three phases. Brock Purdy played errorless football with excellent decision-making, while extending plays when needed. The special teams group bolstered the 49ers' field-position on returns and made timely kicks when needed, while the defense has been humming the last few weeks, creating turnovers and finally adding an element of pressure from the D-line that spurred San Francisco to victory. On this episode of '49ers Talk,' co-hosts Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan break down San Francisco's decisive 26-8 road win over the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field. From Brock Purdy's bounce-back performance following a mistake-filled game, to special teams and defensive units flourishing, to a coach committed to his preparation and scheme in what might be his best coaching season for the Faithful, Matt and Jennifer detail a team finding health and success in time for a much-needed break during their Week 14 bye week.--(1:00) Recapping the 49ers' Week 13 win in blustery weather in Cleveland(3:00) Kyle Shanahan oversold weather to team to mentally, physically prepare them(5:00) Brock Purdy did what he had to do to secure the 49ers' win(11:00) Outstanding performances from Clelin Ferrell, Keion White, Malik Mustapha(14:00) Of all three phases the 49ers' specials teams group has improved the most this season(19:00) The 49ers are playing just about as good as any team in the NFC right now(30:00) Brock Purdy finally showing a bit of confidence -- rare touchdown dance proof of it(39:00) 49ers looking forward to a full week off during their bye Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. The 49ers are entrenched in the final NFC playoff spot as they prepare to face the Cleveland Browns. However, with low temperatures, high-winds, and possible perception forecast for Sunday's matchup, holding onto that precious wild card spot might be more complicated. Having lost their previous contest in Cleveland under similar conditions in 2023, San Francisco will be tasked with executing their offense more efficiently this time while mitigating current NFL sack leader Myles Garrett. On this episode of "49ers Talk," co-hosts Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan discuss Brock Purdy's regression last week against the Panthers and how he and the 49ers' offense can minimize mistakes against familiar obstacles in inclement weather and a formidable pass-rush. The 49ers entered Monday night knowing the needed a win to distance themselves from another NFC playoff contender in the Carolina Panthers. On this episode of "49ers Talk," co-hosts Matt Maiocco and Jennifer Lee Chan discuss Purdy's dip in form and whether he's physically 100 percent, linebacker Curtis Robinson's long-awaited first NFL start and Brown's career night. Brock Purdy's return sparked the 49ers' offense, it also brought a much needed divisional win in a blowout against the Cardinals. Purdy threw for three touchdowns on Sunday, two of which went to a favorite target in tight end George Kittle and the other went to offensive fulcrum Christian McCaffrey, who leads the NFL in scrimmage yards this season through Week 11. Skyy Moore set the tone, returning the opening kickoff 98 yards to the 1-yard line, setting up a McCaffrey 1-yard touchdown run. San Francisco maintained control throughout the game, one in which Arizona did itself no favors accumulating a franchise-record 17 penalties. San Francisco did not escape Arizona unscathed though, as kicker Eddy Piñeiro suffered a hamstring injury in the third quarter that could force the team to bring in a new kicker. Alex Smith was a great QB but he may be a better analyst times ten. I have ridden with Alex since he was drafted. 7 o coordinators later I still defended Alex. as good as he was as a qb he is seriously the beat analyst of the qb position that I have heard. Him and Brian greise
