It was announced today that a lower sternum tackle height was going to be implemented in the elite game of rugby for the first time at the World U20 Championships in Georgia next year. It follows a successful trial in community rugby that has seen 11 countries implement these rules which resulted in 10 percent reduction in upright tackles, and some of the unions reporting a reduction in concussion rates.
