Families are the foundations of our society. They must thrive. In this week’s episode, you will hear from Steve Cross, a successful entrepreneur and family counselor. Steve has a crisis pregnancy center, helping women with an abortion mindset make imformed decisions, has maternity homes for women who have been kicked out by their family and even does foster care. But Steve’s big passion is family counseling and what he calls “absent masculinity”. He helps men see what biblical masculinity looks like; that they are there to lead and protect, to speak blessing over their families and take initiative. Steve believes counseling can be transformative. Things fall apart. It’s so subtle and we often don’t realize it and we fall into habits of communication and behavior. He helps families come to a win-win solution from their situation and for men to gain that vision for masculinity that God has called them to. In this episode, you will learn:(1:14) Steve’s Background and His Life As A Successful Entrepreneur (8:26) What Steve’s Crisis Pregnancy Center Looks Like(23:30) The Biggest Issues With Family Today and Why Counseling Is Important(28:00) Why Being Faithful With What God’s Given You Is Necessary(29:23) How Someone Can Start to Take Action In Their Home (37:35) Why Counseling Is So Transformative for Families--ABOUT STEVE CROSSSteve is a successful business owner, executive director of a crisis pregnancy center, and professional counselor. When we have tunnel vision, we often don’t see the bigger picture. We’re simply focused on the wrong things.Pratik Patel tells his story in this week’s episode. As an unpopular, overweight Indian kid living in Kansas, he found a love for exercise and nutrition and started working with college sports teams, which eventually led him to professional sports, and now coaching anyone who wants help. Working with athletes on how to properly train and fuel their bodies taught Pratik so many lessons in life. He realized that he was ultimately focused and fixated on himself, putting an emphasis on winning, making him feel more important than he was, which led to him making many mistakes throughout his career. He was able to realize that his spiritual and value system had been faltering, that taking care of himself is important, and also see that the value comes from what impact you can make on others. Having a fixed mindset will keep you in a tunnel, but when you grow into an abundance mindset, you can truly live out your purpose. In this episode, you will learn:(1:55) Pratik’s Background, Finding a Love of Nutrition and Exercise (13:00) Why Having a Fixed Mindset Can Lead You Down the Wrong Path(21:50) What It Looks Like to Have An Abundance Mindset(29:45) Where Tunnel Vision Leads and Learning to See the Bigger Picture(41:00) Life After Sports and Learning to Take Responsibility --ABOUT PRATIK PATELPratik Patel is a Sports Dietitian, Strength and Conditioning Coach, speaker, consultant to sports teams, and 1-on-1 coach to athletes and non-athletes of all ages.  For the past 20 years, he has studied nutrition, fitness, recovery, and the interplay between these and optimal health and performance.  He has spent the past 11 years implementing his knowledge with elite athletes, most recently as an Assistant Coach with the New York Giants as the Director of Performance Nutrition and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in charge of all things nutrition, hydration, supplementation, sleep, and recovery related to optimizing health and performance. During his career, Patel has worked with athletes from the NFL, Pro Bowlers, NBA, PGA, and USATF Olympians.Patel is a Registered Dietitian and Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) through the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND) as well as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).--This episode is brought to you by King’s Council Coaching. His family’s history with real estate stretches back 100 years in the Atlanta area; Bryan sees the opportunities God has put into his path as a way to provide opportunities and examples for the generations to come after him, as well as an opportunity for others within the Kingdom to stand up and press into the possibilities around them - even though it’s likely to be an uncomfortable journey to find success in what God alone can do.In addition to traditional real estate, Bryan is also involved in the more creative side of real estate (specifically the hospitality, mining, and energy industries). He and his partners are always looking for more connections and new relationships that can be mutually beneficial for everyone involved. --This episode is brought to you by King’s Council Coaching.
