In this episode of Round Trip Death, host Eric Bennett, sits down with Tammy Cheney, a lifelong traveler whose path was profoundly altered by a near-death–like (NDE) experience following a head injury. Tammy shares how a series of spiritual awakenings culminated in an instantaneous transport to what she describes as “home”—a realm more real than physical life, permeated by unconditional love, vivid colors, soundless tones, and living light.Guided by two silent, luminous beings, Tammy's NDE takes her to an otherworldly landscape where flowers always face the observer, scents blend into a single transcendent fragrance, and love exists as the very fabric of reality. Her NDE journey deepens when she encounters countless light beings and a vast, sun-like presence she instinctively recognizes as God. The moment she expresses her desire to return and tell others, she finds herself back in her body. The NDE experience leaves Tammy temporarily unable to speak, profoundly transformed, and driven to share what she witnessed—at great personal cost. Though misunderstood by those around her, Tammy emerges with a complete absence of fear of death and an unshakable certainty that physical life is temporary. This conversation explores the nature of consciousness, the illusion of death, and how a single encounter with unconditional love can irrevocably change a life.Video Version of This EpisodeTammy Cheney: https://www.youtube.com/@rawconscioustalkpodcastRoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
In this episode of Round Trip Death, host Eric Bennett and guest Donald Winner take a deep investigative dive into near-death experiences (NDEs) using the tools of intelligence analysis rather than belief or doctrine._________________Squarespace FREE Trial & 10% OFF purchase:https://www.squarespace.com/ROUNDTRIPCoupon Code: ROUNDTRIP_________________Drawing on decades of experience in military intelligence and journalism, Don explains how he began studying NDEs after his father briefly lost consciousness and wondered aloud if that moment felt like dying. What started as curiosity turned into a large-scale analysis of thousands of NDE accounts.Don explains that when viewed collectively, near-death experiences reveal remarkable consistency: out-of-body perception, movement through darkness or a tunnel, encounters with light or an intelligence, life reviews, and reunions with deceased loved ones. While individual experiences vary in detail, the underlying structure remains strikingly uniform—much like people describing the same journey from different perspectives. He also explains how he evaluates authenticity, including the development of a computer-based scoring model that analyzes transcripts for known NDE markers. According to Don, true NDEs are marked by clarity, coherence, and emotional authenticity—unlike hallucinations or drug-induced visions. The conversation expands into the origins of religion, with Don proposing that ancient near-death experiences—shared orally for hundreds of thousands of years—may be the foundation for humanity’s earliest concepts of the soul, the afterlife, and God. Importantly, he emphasizes that belief systems don’t seem to dictate what happens after death; atheists, Christians, and people of all faiths report similar core experiences. This episode offers a grounded, analytical, and thought-provoking exploration of what may await us beyond death—without asking listeners to believe anything blindly.Video Version of This EpisodeDon Winner: https://www.winnernde.com/RoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
What happens when everything you think you know suddenly stops—and something far greater takes its place? In this powerful episode of Round Trip Death, Eric sits down with Richard Greene, a retired business leader who clinically died for three minutes following a cardiac procedure and experienced what he describes as an overwhelming state of love, unity, and oneness. What he encountered on “the other side” reshaped his understanding of life, fear, gratitude, and our shared humanity.Richard shares his near-death experience (NDE) in vivid, grounded terms—avoiding dogma while offering deep insight into consciousness, love, and purpose. During his NDE, he met deceased ancestors and felt "engulfed in love."Together, Eric and Richard explore big questions: Why are we here? What really matters? And how might the world change if we truly understood that we are all connected? This episode is reflective, hopeful, and deeply human—an invitation to slow down, quiet the noise, and remember what unites us.Video Version of This EpisodeRichard Greene: "Finding The Eye Of The Storm" Link to Discount RoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
In the final episode of 2025, Round Trip Death travels to Scotland for a deeply intimate and powerful conversation with Jane Dawson. Jane’s near-death experience (NDE) occurred during the birth of her son, after hours of unmedicated labor left her physically exhausted and emotionally depleted. At the moment she felt she could no longer continue, Jane’s spirit separated from her body. The pain vanished, replaced by a velvety darkness filled with peace, love, and profound relief. In that space, she encountered the spirit of her father, who had recently passed away. Their connection was not verbal, but a soul-to-soul “knowing”—an infusion of unconditional love that would ultimately call her back to life.Jane returned to her body after her son was born, though reluctantly, and her healing unfolded gradually over the years that followed. After her NDE experience, she had ongoing signs from her father—unexplainable scents, moving objects, and an unmistakable sense of loving presence—convincing her that consciousness survives physical death. The near death experience transformed Jane’s worldview. Once plagued by fear of death, deep self-loathing, and depression, she began a lifelong journey of spiritual discovery and self-love. She came to understand heaven not as a place “above the clouds,” but is an energetic state of being—limitless, loving, and deeply personal.Today, Jane works as a spiritual medium and teacher, sharing the same truth her father showed her at the edge of life during her NDE: we are never alone, love never dies, and healing is always possible.Send CHRISTMAS CARDS TO:Eric & Will BennettPO Box 771Heber City, UT. 84032____________________________Video Version Of This Episode: https://youtu.be/T8Fs_yHBUpkJane: https://janedawson.co.uk/RoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/

Our Purpose: To go from Selfishness to Selflessness In this episode of Round Trip Death, Eric welcomes Marilynn Hughes, whose powerful NDE (Near Death Experience) forever changed her life and faith. Suffering from severe peripartum cardiomyopathy,Marilynn slipped out of her body and entered a translucent tunnel of light where she reunited with her childhood dog and encountered Jesus in radiant form. She was shown multiple realms, a spiritual “measure” of how souls progress from selfishness to selflessness, and was given the choice to stay in the afterlife or return to her young children.Though Jesus told her He would not heal her heart, He promised to help her—and upon awakening, doctors found her heart had unexpectedly improved, eventually leading to a complete, medically inexplicable recovery years later.Marilynn shares what it felt like to hold Jesus’ hand—like falling into infinite, unconditional love—and explains that earth life is designed to teach selflessness through real experiences, relationships, challenges, and even suffering. She offers a message of hope: that each of us can help change the world not by controlling others, but by transforming ourselves and choosing to interact with life from a higher, more loving place. No longer fearing death, Marilyn looks forward to the profound love she once experienced and assures listeners that this love awaits us all.VIDEO VERSION: https://youtu.be/LBpwZxmwups______________Rula patients typically pay $15 per session when using insurance. At 13 years old, Ishtar Howell survived a devastating car accident that took his mother’s life and shattered his fear of death. His NDE (Near Death Experience) is unusual and the story also includes a SDE (shared death experience) when his mother dies.Moments before impact, time seemed to slow as he slipped out of his body (OBE) into a profound life review, encountered a loving, omniscient presence, and discovered that everything—even pain and trauma—was held within a vast field of love. In this conversation with host, Eric Bennett, Ishtar shares how this near death experience (NDE) transformed his grief, dissolved his fear of death, ignited mystical awareness, and eventually led him to a life as a monk and meditation teacher. He offers a grounded, hopeful message: you don’t have to nearly die to touch the “deathless” part of yourself.VIDEO VERSION: https://youtu.be/JHkeZfxMPuY______________Rula patients typically pay $15 per session when using insurance. LOVE NEVER DIESIn this episode of Round Trip Death, Eric sits down with evidential psychic medium and author Connie Fusella to explore her three near-death experiences (NDEs) and how they slowly woke her up to her soul’s purpose. From an early-twenties anaphylactic reaction and a profound life review, to a dramatic cardiac arrest in a New York ER, to a luminous visit with Jesus in a meadow full of joyful children, Connie shares how each NDE experience peeled back another layer of who she really is.Connie also describes the years-long journey between those NDEs—sleep paralysis, spontaneous psychic impressions on trains and buses, a dusty tarot deck in the closet, and the terrifying leap of giving her very first public reading. She closes with practical guidance for anyone who’s had an NDE (or just feels spiritually “different”) and wonders what their own gifts and purpose might be.VIDEO VERSION: https://youtu.be/iI_61KT2uzkRoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/Connie: https://meaningfulmessages.info/
NDE vs SDE. In this moving conversation, Eric talks with Amber Kasic about the night she accompanied her father as he was dying in 2020 and unexpectedly experienced what’s known as a shared death experience (SDE) — a spiritually transformative moment in which she felt her father’s soul transition before his physical body died.In this SDE, Amber describes holding her father’s hand in hospice, dropping into pure love and surrender, and suddenly feeling a powerful, "whooshing" presence move through her body, down her arm, and into her father — along with the unshakable knowing: “We are eternally bonded.” That NDE/SDE moment erased her fear of death, changed her view of the soul, and ultimately led her to serve others as an evidential medium and end-of-life coach. She and Eric also talk about why some souls seem to “leave” before the last breath, terminal lucidity (or “the surge”), how families can better meet death as sacred instead of terrifying, and how her dad later proved his continued presence to her mom…with pudding. Artist and author Nicole Meeuws joins host, Eric Bennett, to share the near death experience (NDE) she had during an emergency procedure following the loss of a pregnancy in 2015.Nicole recounts leaving her body as a surge of peace carried her into a luminous, “watery” blue-white light and then into a vast white hall where two enormous, blue beings sat upon marble thrones. With feather-like hair, indigo eyes, humanoid torsos, and mer-like tails, they conveyed—wordlessly yet unmistakably—“welcome back,” triggering a profound sense of home and dissolving grief, guilt, and fear. She describes the jarring sensation of being “sucked” back into her body, followed by several minutes of speaking an unfamiliar, tonal language her physician husband witnessed. The near death experience reoriented Nicole’s life toward nature, creativity, and what she calls heightened intuition. Years later, through fasting, meditation in the Greek sea, and research, she linked her vision to ancient traditions of oceanic guardians and an “eternal ocean of memory,” themes now central to her paintings and books. We explore how her NDE reframed earthly life as dense but purposeful—a brief window to choose love over fear, remember who we are, and live from the heart—plus the difficulties of returning, the healing power of water, and the courage it takes to create what we see on the other side.VIDEO VERSION: https://youtu.be/QYoiJvEmvc8Chapters00:00 Welcome; guest intro from Greece; Nicole’s artwork & nature as muse02:55 The NDE context: pregnancy loss, anesthesia, vitals spike04:45 Entering the blue-white “watery” light; profound peace and remembering06:45 The vast white room; marble thrones; two immense blue beings09:40 “Welcome back” and the ancient tribe feeling11:10 Life-reel imagery; sudden return to body (“sucked back”)12:40 Speaking an ancient/tonal language post-op; husband witnesses15:10 Earth life as dense/illusory vs. the clarity “there”17:20 Research & fasting; linking vision to ocean-guardians traditions20:30 The Abzu as an “ocean of memory”; two births concept23:10 Painting the beings; creative process & fear of imperfection25:20 What the love felt like; nature as a doorway (oceans, water)28:10 After-effects & books (Terra Infinita, Oceans of Memories)30:30 Choosing sovereignty: living from heart vs. fear33:10 Final reflections and how to contact Nicole; show closeNicole: https://www.nicolemeeuws.com/RoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
Author and screenwriter Sai Marie Johnson flatlined during a high-risk C-section complicated by placenta percreta. While doctors fought to stop catastrophic hemorrhaging, Sai experienced a profound “void, tunnel and light." During her NDE (Near Death Experience) she met and saw her deceased grandmother and great-grandmother. They told her that she had to go back. Above all else, she felt "Every good emotion we can feel on earth, times 5,000!" Goodness and Pure Love. Following her NDE, she woke to a premature son in the NICU, a partial hysterectomy, and 25 transfusions—but also a new clarity that reshaped her confidence, career, and view of death. In this conversation, she unpacks the medical rollercoaster, the otherworldly peace she felt, how she parents two sons with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and the hard-won faith that guides her now. Crisis Line #998 Imagine life being so tough that you attempt to take your life. Then it gets worse! In this episode of Round Trip Death, Nicole Consiglio opens up about her life's difficulties that resulted in a suicide attempt. But she came back. That's the definition of a near death experience (NDE). During her NDE Experience, Nicole was "sucked up into a vortex." There she dealt with black shadow figures holding her down. Eventually her cries for Jesus and Mary were answered. When she thought about her children, she thought about going back, then God said, "Make Your Decision." The rest, as they say, is history. It's a powerful NDE full of life lessons for all of us. VIDEO Version: https://youtu.be/EABZfAFU3sERoundTripDeath.com Donate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
Dead 15 Minutes! At nine years old, Mario was declared dead at home after violent spasms and unbearable chest pain. His first NDE followed. He describes separating from his body and entering a realm of tunnels and roads made of fluorescent, multicolored light, where he felt only absolute love, safety, and belonging. Family had begun preparing for his funeral, but he revived within minutes, telling his father he’d wanted to stay “there.” The years that followed were marked by poverty, bullying, and vivid encounters he interpreted as demonic—experiences that deepened his prayer life and sense of spiritual warfare. Decades later, in 2016, after months of harassment and a poisoning that put him in the hospital, he says he died again. A nurse exclaimed she saw his “aura” leaving as monitors detached. During this second NDE, Mario reports first arriving in a heaven-like space and searching desperately for his late father; when he couldn’t find him, the scene shifted to a dark, sulfurous realm with hostile entities. This is know as a "distressing NDE" (near death experience). How did this NDE end? A “gigantic hand,” which he believes was Jesus, touched his forehead and returned him to his body. Though some relatives and others doubt his story, Mario insists the lesson is clear: become a kinder person, pray often, hold fame and achievements lightly, and know—at least to him—that heaven is real. NDE Episode SummaryAt eight years old, singer–writer Kara Marlene was thrown over her bike’s handlebars and was dead for roughly 45 minutes. What followed was an immersive near-death experience (NDE) of overwhelming love, peace, and a wordless guide—“love itself” in a familiar, humanlike form. In this intimate conversation, Kara recounts the crash, the boundary between light and vast “space,” a brief child-sized life review, and the moment she agreed—simply—to “follow love.” Returning changed, she navigated physical recovery, learning differences, empathic sensitivity, and a lifelong dialogue with the Divine. Kara also shares how this love/fear polarity shaped her art, relationships, and her mission to help others recognize the “fingerprints of love” in everyday life.Key TakeawaysThe NDE: Kara perceived blinding light, an endless, protective darkness “like space,” and a figure she understands as love taking on a form she could trust.Felt Reality: Absolute love left no room for fear; the inner voice asked, “Are you ready?”—not to go back or forward, but to follow.Return & Recovery: A severe head injury (right temporal lobe) changed academics (reading comprehension/math), shifting her to an audio learning style. After effects of Near Death Experience (NDE): Heightened empathy, deep nature connection, spontaneous inner guidance, and several premonitions about loved ones’ passings.Love vs. Fear: In Kara’s framing, fear is the earthly opposition that clarifies the breadth of love; living “from love” is possible here and now.Message of Hope: You are “meant for miracles”—love is seeking connection with you, moment by moment.Video Version: https://youtu.be/rgZYpdAGLfoRoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/https://www.karamarlene.com/
Can an NDE actually last for 2 years? How about other spiritual experiences? In this moving episode of Round Trip Death, host Eric Bennett welcomes Rebecca Kastl, a speech-language pathologist from Colorado, who shares her extraordinary two-year-long spiritually transformative experience (STE). Unlike typical near-death experiences (NDEs), Rebecca’s journey began not with physical death but with deep emotional trauma and an earnest desire for complete healing. Her story begins with a traumatic event at age 13, which set her on a lifelong path toward spiritual wholeness. At 26, while journaling during graduate school, she spontaneously dedicated her life to God — an act that opened a profound, two-year encounter with divine light, angelic beings, psychic dreams, and a heightened sense of interconnectedness. This led to her NDE/STE experience of transformation.Throughout the episode, Rebecca reflects on:The night a radiant light appeared in her room, filling her with love and peace while revealing hidden parts of herself. How she began to perceive ethereal light in everyone she met, symbolizing the divine essence in all beings. Her experiences with angels and spontaneous life review moments, where she felt how her words and actions affected others. The challenge of integrating these experiences and the deep depression that followed once the light faded. Now, years later, Rebecca shares how this journey reshaped her worldview — inspiring her to work with children, act with compassion, and recognize the sacred light within all people. In closing, Rebecca offers listeners a heartfelt message of hope: even amid suffering, every prayer is heard, and everyone is deeply loved and guided by a higher light. Mystic and former monastic, Kimberly Braun joins Round Trip Death to share the near-death experience (NDE) she had at 19 after a suicide attempt—a passage not of tunnels and relatives, but of awakening “as and within the luminous void.” Held in unconditional love and freedom, she was offered a choice and chose to return from that heavenly place. Kimberly unpacks the paradox of being both an individual and the whole, the emotional and psychological healing that followed (including therapy), the surge of mystical phenomena in her 20s, service with the homeless, and the path that led her into monastic life. It all started with her NDE Experience. She closes her NDE explanation with a grounded message of hope: love is the end toward which all things move—and we can begin to live from it now. Voices said, "Welcome Back, We're So Glad You're Home." At 26 years old and eight months pregnant, psychotherapist Deborah “Deb” Hanie survived a head-on collision that triggered a profound near-death experience (NDE). Instead of a tunnel of light, Deb describes entering “the void”—a dark, peaceful expanse filled with loving, luminous beings who told her she could stay or return because she “had a baby.” Choosing to come back meant waking to excruciating pain and a difficult recovery, but it also opened a spiritual path: work with Stanislav Grof’s ideas, shamanic training, and hospice “journeying” with people at the end of life. Deb shares how her son carried prenatal trauma, why the return can be harsher than the leaving, and two extraordinary deathbed stories—including her scientist father’s passing, escorted by a circle of elephants into the light. He now has ZERO fear of death: "It's like walking through a door into another room." Ned shares his NDE experience publicly for the first time. When a stubborn bladder infection spiraled into sepsis, Ned Barnett flatlined twice in the ER. During his near death experience, he lived three vivid, sequential “lives”:NDE #1 - Tranquil, dove-gray creative realm where ideas were built and freely shared;NDE #2 - An ordinary, domestic life that quietly corrected priorities;NDE #3 - A hyper-real action life as a hostage negotiator and rescue-show producer leading SWAT-style interventions. On “re-entry,” Ned realized the “hotel” with stark black-and-white ceiling panels was actually the ICU—and his overwhelming drive was simply to call his wife and tell her he was okay. The NDE completely erased his fear of death, redirected his career toward helping authors, and deepened his Christian faith. He closes with gentle advice for listeners in pain: simple prayers, the Psalms, and the reminder that what we are continues.Video version of this podcast: https://youtu.be/zLZVh4ND4tYRoundTripDeath.comDonate to this podcast: https://www.roundtripdeath.com/support/
In this moving conversation, Shanna Arnold recounts her journey from a promising high school athlete to a survivor of a horrific rollover accident that claimed her best friend’s life, briefly ended her own, and resulted in a near death experience she would never forget. She describes being ejected 150 feet from the vehicle, pronounced dead, and revived after her heart stopped. During that time, she experienced what she believes to be a glimpse of the afterlife, an NDE Experience —walking with her best friend in a dark space, exchanging tearful hugs and promises to meet again. Her recovery was long and grueling—months in a coma, over a year in rehab, and relearning everything from reading to walking. Yet Shanna went on to graduate with honors, raise two daughters, and live with a deepened faith and gratitude. Her near death experience left her with a new perspective on mortality: not fearing death but seeing it as a reunion with loved ones. She encourages listeners to approach others with compassion, knowing that everyone carries unseen battles, and to give thanks for the blessings and talents God provides. This episode (and her NDE) is a reminder that life is fragile, death is not the end, and love carries beyond this world.
