Description

This podcast is for high-achieving women who look capable on the outside but feel exhausted, over-responsible, or disconnected on the inside.

We explore self-respect for women through the lens of nervous system regulation and trauma-informed boundaries, helping you understand why people-pleasing, fawning, and guilt feel so automatic and how to change them safely.

This isn’t about forcing boundaries. It’s about rebuilding internal safety so you can honor your needs without self-abandonment.

There’s a moment many women reach…where everything on the outside looks “right” and inside, something still feels off. You’ve done the work. You’ve achieved, grown, pushed through…and there’s still this quiet sense that you’re not fully where you’re meant to be. Somewhere along the way, you learned to move away from yourself. In this episode, I’m joined by Helen Ye Plehn, founder of Helen Creates Beauty and author of The Aura Color Wheel—a system designed to help you understand your soul’s purpose through your unique aura.Helen’s work carries a depth of spiritual wisdom and intuitive insight—she’s an angel channeler, intuitive painter, and spiritual teacher, with training across modalities like Feng Shui, astrology, energy healing, meditation, and more. Her work has reached thousands and has been recognized widely, but what stood out most to me… is how clearly she helps you come back to yourself. This conversation goes deeper than surface-level self-discovery.We talk about what it means to truly know who you are, how your patterns and wounds are connected to your purpose, and how the things you’ve struggled with can start to make sense in a different way.We also explore how healing yourself begins to shift everything—your relationships, your patterns, and what gets carried forward. If you’ve felt that pull…like there’s more for you, and you can’t quite access it…this will meet you right there.Connect with Helen:https://www.youtube.com/@auracolorwheelhttps://www.instagram.com/helencreatesbeautyhttps://www.facebook.com/helencreatesbeautyhttps://www.tiktok.com/@helencreatesbeautyConnect with KellyIf this conversation resonated with you and you’re ready to deepen your relationship with yourself, there are a few ways to continue the journey.🌿 Take the Free Self-Abandonment AuditDiscover the subtle ways you may be abandoning yourself in relationships, decisions, and daily life—and what it looks like to begin returning to yourself.https://drkellykessler.com/selfaudit🌿 The Self-Respect ResetA guided experience designed to help you calm your nervous system, release guilt, and reconnect with your inner authority so you can begin honoring your needs and boundaries with greater clarity.drkellykessler.com/selfrespectreset🌿 Apply for the Self-Loyalty MentorshipA 12-week intimate mentorship for women ready to stop abandoning themselves to keep the peace. What if success, fulfillment, and abundance aren’t created by pushing harder, but by aligning your energy? In this episode, Kelly Kessler sits down with New York Times bestselling author and transformational teacher Christy Whitman to explore the deeper relationship between manifestation, emotional energy, and the patterns that keep many high-achieving women stuck in stress and over-efforting.Christy shares how flow is not something that happens randomly. It’s an energetic state we can learn to access. Together they discuss the balance between action and alignment, why the “gap” between desire and manifestation can feel frustrating, and how generational conditioning and the drama triangle (rescuer, victim, persecutor) shape our relationships and self-perception. You’ll also learn why shifting the language you use about your life can transform your reality, how energetic awareness helps you move out of survival patterns, and why relationships sometimes change when you begin living from a more empowered state. If you’ve ever felt stuck in hustle mode, disconnected from your intuition, or caught in patterns that keep repeating, this conversation offers a powerful perspective on how to reconnect with your inner authority and create from alignment instead of pressure.Connect with Christy:https://www.christyandthecouncil.com/https://www.simonandschuster.com/books/The-Flow-Factor/Christy-Whitman/9781582709383Connect with KellyIf this conversation resonated with you and you’re ready to deepen your relationship with yourself, there are a few ways to continue the journey.🌿 Take the Free Self-Abandonment AuditDiscover the subtle ways you may be abandoning yourself in relationships, decisions, and daily life—and what it looks like to begin returning to yourself.https://drkellykessler.com/selfaudit🌿 The Self-Respect ResetA guided experience designed to help you calm your nervous system, release guilt, and reconnect with your inner authority so you can begin honoring your needs and boundaries with greater clarity.drkellykessler.com/selfrespectreset🌿 Apply for the Self-Loyalty MentorshipA 12-week intimate mentorship for women ready to stop abandoning themselves to keep the peace. What if the dreams you thought were over were actually just waiting for the right moment to begin? In this episode, Dr. Kelly Kessler welcomes back Angela Fuller—competitive gymnast, American Ninja Warrior athlete, fitness instructor, and motivational speaker—whose story is a powerful example of resilience, reinvention, and pursuing bold dreams later in life.Angela’s athletic journey began early. A Colorado native, she started gymnastics at age five, but a serious injury forced her to leave the sport at fourteen. Years later, a devastating car accident left her with a severe spinal injury, and during her second pregnancy she sustained additional disc damage that ultimately placed her on disability. Doctors told her she would never be an athlete again. For years, Angela believed that chapter of her life was closed.Everything changed when her best friend was diagnosed with terminal breast cancer. That moment became a powerful wake-up call to stop waiting and start pursuing the dreams she once believed were impossible. Angela began rebuilding her health, teaching fitness classes, and rediscovering joy through movement. She returned to gymnastics after a 27-year break, joined a competitive adult team at age 41, and began training for American Ninja Warrior.Since then, Angela has continued to defy expectations. She competed on American Ninja Warrior Season 15, represented the United States at the Masters Gymnastics World Cup, and made history by completing the gymnastics Omnithon—competing across all 14 events in a single competition, becoming the oldest gymnast ever to accomplish the feat.Today Angela’s mission is to show women—especially mothers—that their dreams don’t expire with age. In this conversation, she shares how grief can transform into purpose, how to navigate guilt while pursuing your own goals as a parent, and why choosing faith over fear can open doors you never imagined possible. If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s too late to reinvent yourself, this episode is a powerful reminder that some of the most meaningful chapters of life are still waiting to be written.Connect with Angela: https://linktr.ee/angela_fuller?fbclid=IwRlRTSAN_nkpleHRuA2FlbQIxMABzcnRjBmFwcF9pZAo2NjI4NTY4Mzc5AAEeMyp8op0c9N0yf9aKP5BReAEmnpkAAsm94IvBg7gPmGKP_hLUZyZ1_lkVb_U_aem_SnOgZfRXcU3rzqfDy2rt0wConnect with KellyIf this conversation resonated with you and you’re ready to deepen your relationship with yourself, there are a few ways to continue the journey.🌿 Take the Free Self-Abandonment AuditDiscover the subtle ways you may be abandoning yourself in relationships, decisions, and daily life—and what it looks like to begin returning to yourself.https://drkellykessler.com/selfaudit🌿 The Self-Respect ResetA guided experience designed to help you calm your nervous system, release guilt, and reconnect with your inner authority so you can begin honoring your needs and boundaries with greater clarity.drkellykessler.com/selfrespectreset🌿 Apply for the Self-Loyalty MentorshipA 12-week intimate mentorship for women ready to stop abandoning themselves to keep the peace. Why does setting boundaries feel so hard even when you know they’re healthy? In this video, Dr. Kelly Kessler explains why boundary-setting isn’t a willpower problem, but often a nervous system response shaped by earlier experiences of safety, belonging, and connection. You’ll learn why guilt, anxiety, and overthinking can appear after setting a boundary, and how to stay grounded in your truth without abandoning yourself. If you struggle with people-pleasing, boundary guilt, or fear of disappointing others, this conversation will help you understand what’s really happening in your body and how to build self-trust.Connect with KellyIf this conversation resonated with you and you’re ready to deepen your relationship with yourself, there are a few ways to continue the journey.🌿 Take the Free Self-Abandonment AuditDiscover the subtle ways you may be abandoning yourself in relationships, decisions, and daily life—and what it looks like to begin returning to yourself.https://drkellykessler.com/selfaudit🌿 The Self-Respect ResetA guided experience designed to help you calm your nervous system, release guilt, and reconnect with your inner authority so you can begin honoring your needs and boundaries with greater clarity.drkellykessler.com/selfrespectreset🌿 Apply for the Self-Loyalty MentorshipA 12-week intimate mentorship for women ready to stop abandoning themselves to keep the peace. What if many chronic symptoms aren’t signs that something is broken—but signals from a nervous system that has learned to stay in danger mode?In this episode, Dr. Kelly Kessler, DPT sits down with neuroplastic symptom practitioner, hormone expert, and licensed acupuncturist Ali Damron to explore the powerful connection between stress, the nervous system, and physical symptoms like chronic pain, fatigue, and hormonal imbalance.Together they unpack how cortisol, suppressed emotions, and nervous system patterns can contribute to neuroplastic conditions—including chronic back pain—and why shifting from “danger mode” to “safety mode” can change how the body experiences symptoms. You’ll learn how language around health shapes healing, why many people unknowingly outsource their inner authority, and how reconnecting with your body’s signals can become a powerful path toward recovery. If you’ve ever wondered why symptoms persist even when tests look normal, this conversation will open a new way of understanding the mind–body connection.Connect with Ali: www.alidamron.com/consultswww.alidamron.com/anxietywww.alidamron.com/healnowConnect with KellyIf this conversation resonated with you and you’re ready to deepen your relationship with yourself, there are a few ways to continue the journey.🌿 Take the Free Self-Abandonment AuditDiscover the subtle ways you may be abandoning yourself in relationships, decisions, and daily life—and what it looks like to begin returning to yourself.https://drkellykessler.com/selfaudit🌿 The Self-Respect ResetA guided experience designed to help you calm your nervous system, release guilt, and reconnect with your inner authority so you can begin honoring your needs and boundaries with greater clarity.drkellykessler.com/selfrespectreset🌿 Apply for the Self-Loyalty MentorshipA 12-week intimate mentorship for women ready to stop abandoning themselves to keep the peace. Is trauma something we survive… or something that can awaken us?In this powerful conversation, Kelly Kessler sits down with Richard Grossman — acupuncturist, Amazonian medicine practitioner, and author of Trust and Forgive: The Medicine of Your Life — to explore how trauma can become a doorway to freedom rather than a permanent identity. With over 40 years of experience in Chinese medicine, body-based healing, and plant medicine traditions, Richard shares why trauma isn’t just psychological — it’s stored in the nervous system, fascia, and energetic body. He explains why forgiveness is not approval of harm, but a release of the emotional threads that keep the past alive in the present You’ll learn:Why trauma lives in the body (not just in memory)How forgiveness creates emotional freedomThe difference between bypassing and true healingWhy we unconsciously re-create trauma patternsHow generational trauma is carried — and how to stop the cycleWhat it means to “love trauma through” instead of forcing it outThe Wetiko / “hungry ghost” pattern of never-enough achievementWhy inner peace — not external control — is the real liberationIf you’ve ever felt stuck in old stories, exhausted from over-achieving, or like you’re the one breaking cycles in your family… this episode will feel like medicine.Because trauma isn’t a wall. It’s a door. And on the other side? If this episode resonated, I created a short, free Self-Abandonment Audit to help you gently identify where you override yourself in the name of connectionhttps://drkellykessler.com/selfauditWhy do some women feel calm after setting a boundary… while others replay the conversation, feel guilty, and second-guess themselves? In this solo episode of Rewiring Health, we explore the quiet, often unseen reason this happens and why it has less to do with confidence or communication skills, and more to do with self-respect and nervous system safety. This conversation is for thoughtful, emotionally intelligent women who:-over-explain simple “no’s”-soften their truth to keep others comfortable-feel responsible for how their boundaries land-feel exhausted even when they’re being “kind”Rather than offering scripts or strategies, this episode gently reframes what’s happening inside the body when over-explaining shows up — and why you don’t need to be understood in order to stay aligned with yourself. In this episode, you’ll hear:-why over-explaining is often a self-protection response-how self-respect works internally, not relationally-why guilt doesn’t mean you did something wrong-what it feels like to stop negotiating your own needs. This is an invitation to choose clarity without harshness, honesty without justification, and self-respect without needing agreement.✨ Free ResourceIf this episode resonated, I created a short, free Self-Abandonment Audit to help you gently identify where you override yourself in the name of connection and why awareness alone hasn’t shifted the pattern.https://drkellykessler.com/selfaudit
What if healing wasn’t something you had to earn, fix, or outsource — but something you could remember? In this episode of Rewiring Health, Kelly sits down with Daoist guide and self-healing practitioner Sifu Boggie (Paul Brighton) to explore what it truly means to heal from within. With over 40 years of experience in Daoism, Qi Gong, and embodied healing arts, Sifu Boggie shares why ancient practices like Qi Gong and Tai Chi are not outdated — they’re essential tools for navigating modern stress, emotional overload, and disconnection from the body.Together, they explore:Why true healing is about guidance, not fixingHow Qi Gong and Tai Chi regulate the nervous system and restore energetic balanceDaoist philosophy as a grounded, practical approach to modern lifeCommon misconceptions about ancient healing practices — and why they still workHow life experience, playfulness, and curiosity deepen self-trustWhat it means to be a guide rather than a master on the healing pathThis conversation is for anyone who feels overwhelmed, disconnected, or tired of trying to “get it right” — and is ready to reconnect with their own inner wisdom, safety, and natural flow.✨ You are not broken. What if self-abandonment isn’t a personal flaw—but a survival strategy you once needed, and no longer have to carry? In this episode, I’m joined by Rocio Aquino and Angel Orengo, co-authors of The Orchid: The Secret Code of Modern Goddesses and founders of For the Highest Good, an initiative devoted to expanding human consciousness through storytelling, healing tools, and community.Based in Los Angeles, Rocio and Angel bring a rare blend of lived experience, emotional intelligence, and spiritual psychology to their work. Through media, public speaking, and live events, they guide women, especially those who have learned to over-give or disconnect from themselves, back to authenticity, inner authority, and alignment with their highest good.At the heart of our conversation is The Orchid, a transformational novel following seven women from different backgrounds who gather at a retreat in Northern California. Each woman embodies a distinct struggle with identity, self-trust, and emotional survival, offering readers (and listeners) mirrors for their own patterns of self-abandonment.Together, we explore how storytelling can be a powerful healing modality—one that moves beyond intellectual insight and into the body, where real change begins. The hidden cycle of self-abandonment and how women begin to recognize when they’ve learned to leave themselves to stay connected to othersForgiveness as a nervous-system process, not a bypass—why true forgiveness requires safety, presence, and self-honestyThe pathway from thought → emotion → body, and how unexamined beliefs become stored tension, disconnection, or collapseWhat it means to truly hold space—for yourself and for others—without fixing, rescuing, or self-betrayalThe five transformational lessons of The Orchid—Awareness, Gratitude, Forgiveness, Acceptance, and Intention—and how they can be practiced in everyday lifeThe challenges faced by the seven women in the story, and how each character reflects common patterns women carry around worth, voice, boundaries, and belongingWhy storytelling bypasses overthinking and creates emotional safety, allowing women to reconnect with inner truth and intuitionThis episode is an invitation for the woman who is capable, self-aware, and exhausted from holding it all together to soften, listen inward, and begin choosing herself without guilt.🌱 Healing doesn’t start with changing who you are.It starts with staying present with yourself.Connect with Rocio and Angel: https://linktr.ee/theorchidbookConnect with Kelly:drkellykessler.com✨ Sacred Boundaries: Scripts for Saying No with Love ✨If you’ve ever felt the pressure to say “yes” when your whole body was begging you to say “no,” you’re not alone. What if inflammation—not genetics, not aging, not bad luck—was the common thread behind most chronic disease? In this expansive and thought-provoking conversation, physicist, inventor, and engineer Samuel Shepherd shares his extraordinary personal journey after being diagnosed with a rare, terminal bone marrow cancer in 2003. Given no viable medical options, Sam turned to decades of scientific expertise to investigate inflammation, free radicals, and cellular breakdown—ultimately leading him to study astaxanthin, one of the most powerful antioxidants found in nature. We explore the science of oxidative stress, PD-L1 immune signaling, cellular transport, and why conventional antioxidant delivery often fails. Sam explains how he developed a patented glycosidic form of astaxanthin designed to improve absorption and target inflammation more effectively—and how this work reshaped not only his health, but his entire understanding of disease, aging, and resilience. This episode also dives into:Why inflammation may be the root driver of many chronic and neurodegenerative conditionsThe role of free radicals in cancer, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, and metabolic diseaseHow modern diets—especially fructose exposure—impact inflammation over timeWhat HS-CRP can reveal about long-term health riskWhy curiosity, self-trust, and asking better questions matter more than blind complianceThis is not medical advice. It is an invitation into inquiry, responsibility, and deeper self-education—especially for those who sense that healing requires more than symptom management. If you’re someone who values science, autonomy, and understanding your body rather than outsourcing it, this conversation will expand how you think about health, inflammation, and what’s truly possible.Connect with Samuel: Website: https://valasta.net/ Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/@ValAsta Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ValastaHome Connect with Kelly:drkellykessler.comFree Guide: Sacred Boundaries: http://drkellykessler.com/sacredboundariesSelf-Respect Reset is a guided, body-based experience for women who struggle to set boundaries—not because they don’t know what they need, but because it hasn’t felt safe to honor it.Inside, you’ll learn how to rebuild inner safety, strengthen self-trust, and create boundaries that actually protect your peace—without guilt, over-explaining, or self-abandonment.👉 Learn more and join Self-Respect Reset here:http://drkellykessler.com/selfrespectresetMilk and Butterflies: Get free shipping on your order with this link:https://milkandbutterflies.com/discount/DRKELLY
