This week we discuss Jason Reynolds' young adult novel Long Way Down (2017). We address stats of gun violence in rural communities, generational trauma, toxic masculinity, lost loved ones, and mental health as well as adult cartoons, parallels from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, Disney's Encanto, and Shameless. Of course, we have also included some comedy about what it's like recording a podcast at home with our loved ones.
