On the fourth episode of the podcast, we are joined by Vanessa Bukasa; the Vice-President of the Absa Group. She graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with an undergraduate degree in Accounting Sciences subsequently pursuing her designation as a CA(SA).  It was such a delight learning about Vanessa’s journey which, like many of ours, was not linear. She reminds us of the power of perspective and that we deserve to see ourselves flourish in what we do. We discuss everything from her position as VP to trainee articles to celebrating oneself. This was a truly reassuring conversation that’s dedicated to all the PGDA students currently in their week of finals - you can do it!
Karl is an Investment Associate, IMM (Impact Measuring and Management) and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) Manager at Goodwell Investments. He graduated from the University of Cape Town with a Bachelor in Business Science majoring in Finance and has since explored various entrepreneurial ventures as well.  Drawing from his journey, he shares about his path to Goodwell, balancing exposure and experience in the job hunt, how less is more and even turns the tables as host inviting a moment of reflection for Kiese. Let's keep learning and growing, everyone - thank you for joining in on episode 3! #ThePlug is a segment where we introduce opportunities that allow you to thrive in your development within your career and as an adult in general.  Our first feature is e-Kamva: a platform that allows for up-skilling in the key areas of HR, Sales and Finance - teaching young people how to maximise employment opportunities, make lasting impressions and plan their financial futures. They do this by hosting bootcamps, led by seasoned industry leaders, that prepare you for the transition into the world of business.  We’re joined by Joel Mukadi, a co-founder of e-Kamva, who breaks it all down for us while adding great insight about his personal experience. He is a UCT Bachelor of Social Sciences graduate who majored in Political Science and Government, Industrial Sociology and Philosophy, and is currently completing his Post-graduate Diploma in Business Management and Entrepreneurship.  Join us as we learn about e-Kamva and be sure to visit www.ekamva.com to take advantage of this amazing opportunity! The next bootcamp is set for 16 to 18 September 2022. Be sure to follow us on socials, we'd love to engage with you: Instagram | LinkedIn
Neoyame (Neo) Rulashe is currently a Junior Consultant within the Corporate Financial Advisory department at Deloitte & Touche (Deloitte). They graduated with a distinction in BCom Financial Sciences at the University of Pretoria, as well as with a BCom Honours in Finance at the University of Cape Town.  Neo is a proud member of the LGBT+ community and the Deloitte Globe Africa Commitee which aims to bring recognition, pride and respect to her fellow LGBT+ colleagues at Deloitte and is actively involved in a number of charity drives. Neo is an avid tattoo collector with 10 in counting and more to come. They’re a fan of watching series, a pizza connoisseur and loves Thriller books.  We’re grateful to have spoken to them about consultancy, corporate vs personal financial advisory, employment and being who you are. A key takeaway from Neo is when they mentioned how important it is to understand that a season of deciding does not equate to being aimless - they remind us to take things easy. Thank you Neo for featuring on the Onus Podcast! Be sure to follow us on socials, we'd love to engage with you: Instagram | LinkedIn
