I struggle with my mid-section. I believe I'm an 8 shape. I'm lean with an hourglass shape with a slightly wider high hip. I'm always trying to hide my tummy and I'm sure of how to look long and lean. My main problem is that I hide my femininity. My biggest challenge right now is this: I have had a rapid weight gain with hormonal and adrenal disruption (hello menopause and stress). My body is different. Nothing fits. Are you stuck on style rules? don't believe in rules, I believe in principles and the science behind why something does or doesn't work, and these are then guidelines or suggestions which you can try on for size, and then decide what does or doesn't work for you. You get to be in charge as it means your style aligns with your personality, your lifestyle, your colouring and your unique body.
I struggle with not knowing how to combine clothes harmoniously and interestingly And I thought - you're not the only one - and it's because knowing your body shape doesn't tell you how to do this (and that's what most people think they need to know to become stylish). Instead, there is so much more to this question and struggle to unpack.
I have a question--I just read your post about wearing your good clothes every day and its effect on how people see you as well as how you feel about yourself. I work at home. People see me from the waist up. How important is it that I wear a full-on "good" outfit every day at work?
