Launched in 1977, Voyager 1 & 2 were originally designed for a two-planetary mission and were supposed to be back within 5 years. They completed their original mission and then some other flyby missions and then went on the longest detour in the history of humanity.44 years later, they are now on their journey to see the cosmos, far beyond our own galaxy. Their mission extended - indefinitely.
