Victor Solomon is building Vessel Verse - a basketball inspired generative art digital collectible that celebrates the sport's icon as an adaptable and imaginative totem to connect an eclectic group of ambitious fans.
Coupled with the use of the basketball as an icon and a meme, and replication of the Nouns auction mechanism, Vessel Verse aims to connect an infinitely growing community of thinkers, builders, and basketball enthusiasts. The possibilities are endless, the artwork is amazing, and I have the honor to sit with Victor Solomon himself. So let’s hear it from him.
It all started when nvonpentz and branigan joined forces after a realizing they were working on a similar idea. In this episode, I spoke to the team that built Lil Block Party, a Dapp that sources what the next Lil will be by block hash and providing a SMOL FOMO every block.
I speak with Nouns Governance Mandates winner, Will Hayes about his latest build, House of Nouns – a supercharged client for governance, providing discussion and rich context to scale participation.
It is a love and enthusiasm for art that started out with collecting art and later became a journey into Web3, and a lil later, Lil Nouns. Co-founder of RISE DAO, Lil Sisters, and NounsDAO Brazil; B works hard to grow women’s participation in Web3.
In this episode, I sat down with Wiz to talk about Federation – solutions for communities in the Nouns ecosystem to participate in governance with one another. Wiz has won the Nouns Governance Mandate round for Federation.
Psychdre is a 3D artist who has been building in prop house and sweeping rounds. He talks about how he joined Little Nouns and what he has been working on like trey. He also shares a bit about his journey into the world of NFTs and how he has been using his skills in video editing and visual graphics to create his collections.
Join me and Lil Pizza as he shares his story about his journey from web3 to Lil Nouns to how he built Lil Noun Pet for iOS.
In this episode, we recap what has been happening in the last month, looking at interesting projects, and ideas for growth.
First, we have the Lil Nouns weekly newsletter, a much needed curation of current events in the Lil Nouns space. We learn about how it came to be and how it’s keeping people updated. Highlighting key events, the newsletter saves you time so you can stay in touch with what’s happening in the Nouniverse without having to be on Discord 24/7.
We spoke about the Data Pod, with all its insightful dashboards. We hear about its beginning from just an idea into a full-on recurring data tool. We also get ideas on how to use it to make decisions, create projects and generate reports. And exploring potentials to make it much bigger and more collaborative across the Nouniverse, not just with Lil Nouns.
Buying Lil Nouns on auction is much easier, and more fun for everyone. But a second option is discussed: using NFTx. NFTx is a marketplace for staking and earning using your NFTs. A better place to quickly earn liquidity for your NFTs.
The episode’s guests spoke about the beginner experience. It’s quite overwhelming to use Discord for the first time and to learn about Lil Nouns. They tell us how they got into the space and discuss a need to improve the user experience as the community grows. Their advice to newcomers: Just Do It! Join the community, contribute to discussions, start a project you are interested in, and learn along the way!
In this episode, we are joined by Ryan, a brilliant member of the Nounish Community involved in numerous projects, to discuss the experience of being part of a community. Ryan’s first impression of being part of this community was that everyone is so willing to help. Whether you’re looking to build a new project, bounce ideas around or learn the ins and outs of the Nouns ecosystem, you will find someone eager to help you.
We hear about the projects Ryan is involved in including Noun O’clock, a daily Twitter Spaces show he co-hosts, Tiny Dinos, Nouncil, and new projects launching soon like Diny Nouns, which will have its first auction in August. (Keep an eye out for that!) He also shares with us projects he’s particularly interested in, like Nouns Town, which has its own metaverse and how one can own a block of their Nounish Metaverse by getting a Nouns Town.
If you’ve tried the Lil Nouns auction before, then you know the bidding can get pretty competitive. Ryan speaks of stalking the auction, checking it at night to try and improve his chances, and the exhilarating experience of waiting and hoping not to be outbid.
When asked about challenges he has faced in building all the different projects, Ryan says he didn’t quite realize how complex it was to get the contract for setting up an auction. But, he also says that he got help from a more experienced person, and that made things much easier. Our takeaway? Pay it forward!
In this episode, I speak to Bkraaus and Necfas, Lil Nouners with non-tech backgrounds working to make the Nouniverse more universal. Bkraaus and Necfas tell us about their projects aimed at breaking language barriers. In general, the world of NFTs and web3 has been primarily limited to people who speak a particular language (mostly English).
Bkraaus and Necfas speak of their efforts to spread the Nounish culture beyond English speakers and into Europe and Latin America. Bkraaus shares his progress in onboarding german speakers by translating content into German and reaching out to people in Munich, Frankfurt, and other places. He’s created a resource hub for people that includes guides on joining DAOs and sending out proposals and delegations.
While translating content into a different language is essential in breaking language barriers, it is only the first step. There are multiple aspects of a community that determine how they consume information. People's culture, values, and environment all play a role in their consumption of information. And it has been helpful for Bkraaus and Necfas to know the culture and therefore tailor their delivery to it. They describe it as having a sort of older brother who understands where you come from and explains things to you in a way that is easy to understand.
Bkraaus and Necfas are laying the foundations for people to come in and help others from their cultures get onboarded onto Lil Nouns. They are excited at the possibility of having other people join in and help make the vision of Lil Nouns a reality. If you are interested in bringing the Nounish culture to your community, this is your sign to jump in and help proliferate the meme!
In this episode, we meet Lil Al409. With a background in software development, Al got into web3 earlier in 2017, buying Ethereum when it was still relatively new. His interest led him on an adventurous journey in the world of NFTs, joining Noun Punks and owning his first NFT through them.
Al409 shares that he felt a need to do more in Noun Punks. He wanted to get involved in projects and became a moderator for the community, pushing weekly content. While a mod, he speaks of meeting other members and becoming part of the community, while helping it grow.
Discovering and learning about Lil Nouns gave him a light bulb moment. From the DAO to the treasury, the auction mechanism, everything was similar to Nouns. Lil Nouns was just what people needed; a more accessible point to Nouns. He jumped in and ended up starting his residency at Lil Nouns.
Al409 shares how Lil Nouners can now directly participate in Nouns DAO as a Lil Nouns holder. Projects in the Lil Noun ecosystem that gain traction through upvotes can be escalated to the Nouns chain! This provides an opportunity for builders to grow beyond the Lil Nouns community.
Finally, Al409 encourages people to join the community and start participating. He hopes that his story, going from content moderator to resident, shows people that they too can do it, and all they need is some interest and the willingness to contribute to the vision.
