Evangelism is a powerful tool that we as believers are all called to pursue. But does it always have to look the same way? Leading our reconstruction is the creator of Humans of Adventism and How The Church Works co-host, Kaleb Eisele, and TikTok’s The Chai Guy, Kevin Wilson.
The Bible lays out guidelines on gender roles, specifically the roles and responsibilities between men and women. But are the messages shared in purity culture and Christian girlhood books representative of God’s word, or of society? In this episode, Dr. Jennifer Jill Schwirzer reconstructs the true meaning of submission and womanhood.
An update on Faith, Reconstructed. We'll be back April 21.
Repentance. It is a word with some heavy connotations. However, scripture has shown us that real repentance is much simpler and more beautiful than we realize. Ante Jeroncic joins host, Nicole Dominguez, in a demystification of repentance.
Salvation is a word commonly used when discussing Christianity. But what does it mean? In this episode, host Nicole Dominguez and Justin Khoe will discuss salvation, its impacts, and how to truly live a transformed life.
In this episode, we continue our deep dive into the development of the church. With the help of Dr. Trevor O’Reggio we will observe the four periods of the church’s development, how the medieval church chose culture over scriptural truth, and how Christianity was preserved through the enslaved people of America.
How did we get our current image of the Christian church? Our understanding of the church and how it operates is largely shaped by its history. Looking back at the church’s history is a crucial step in our understanding and deconstruction. In this episode, trace the origins of the Christian church with Dr. Trevor O’Reggio and its impact on our faith.
What do you think of when someone says “Church”? Do you think of a building or a community? Our comprehension of Church is something that is defined from an early age. Even those raised outside a religious home has observed what church is through the perspective shown by adults or society. What does Church mean according to the scriptures? What if our understanding of Church were linked to our understanding of God’s character? By answering these questions we are removing the clutter surrounding the Church, and imagining it according to how God created it to be. Hosted by Nicole Dominguez with guest Elizabeth McDonald.
Humans were built for relationship. Our longing for connection is natural and healthy. However our means of creating, building, and nurturing relationships might be made difficult with the conflict found from mental illness and a basic misunderstanding of how God created relationships to be. When our understanding of how to foster healthy connections is grounded, we are able to grow as individuals and Children of God. Hosted by Nicole Dominguez with guest Giselle Ortiz.
It is inevitable that at some point, we will stop as ask ourselves “Who am I?” Identity is a tricky thing that has become a hot button topic in the last few years, leaving us to ponder how we identify ourselves and where we go to for answers. As we deconstruct the building blocks to our identity, such as the importance of relationships as identity, our understanding of guilt and shame, we allow ourselves to confront our true self within the liberation of being a Child of God. Hosted by Nicole Dominguez with guest Ruth Hodge.  Show Notes: Adamic Covenant  Genesis 1:26-30 Genesis 2:16-17 Genesis 3:15 Noahic Covenant Genesis 9:11 Abrahamic Covenant Genesis 12:1-3 Romans 4:11 Palestinian Covenant  Deuteronomy 30:1-10 Mosaic Covenant Deuteronomy 11 Davidic Covenant 2 Samuel 7:8-16 Luke 1:32-33 Mark 10:77 New Covenant Jeremiah 31:31-34 Matthew 26:28 Hebrews 9:15
An update about today's episode.
In part two of this two part episode, the image of God continues to be revealed by asking the question “What does it mean when the Bible says God is Love?” As we continue the conversation, a blueprint for reconstructing every other Christian belief begins to emerge. Hosted by Nicole Dominguez with guests David Asscherick and Ty Gibson.
Who is God? Our answer to this question exposes a lot about our faith, our choices, and how we live our lives. God is the centerpiece to everything. When we get our image of Him right, the rest of our worldview comes into focus. In this episode, guests David Asscherick and Ty Gibson construct the foundation of our future episodes by diving into the Image of God by asking who He is, why we should trust Him, and how to deconstruct our misconceptions. Hosted by Nicole Dominguez.
