On Season 11 Episode 6 of A Little Birdie Told Me host Rebecca Horan talks to Holly Harcourt. Holly is the founder and lead coach of The Self Love Revolution. The Self Love Revolution is and online health, nutrition and fitness coaching business for women 35+.The wonderful Holly is based in the UK and spoke to Rebecca in the Dublin studio when she was recently over to do one of her first Irish retreats. Holly spoke to Rebecca about how she wasn't always in the fitness industry and actually started her career as a dancer on cruise ships, she loved performing and explained how during that incredible time travelling around the world she met her ex-husband on board a cruise. They were together over a decade and divorced a few years ago. Holly opened up about how the marriage became toxic with a lot of hardship before she could finally get out of it and how the demise of that relationship ultimately spurred her on to make massive changes in her life. Holly told Rebecca that she only stepped foot in a gym for the first time over a decade ago and that is when she started training which then turned into her greatest passion and lead to her work in women's health coaching and the birth of The Self Love Revolution. 60% of Holly's clients reside in Ireland and she spoke about her love of her "Irish ladies" and the work they do together. Holly is an inspiring woman who has experienced rock bottom and built an incredible career community from the ashes of it. Ally Garvey is a model who has worked in the industry for years, an influencer, regular on TV and mother to two girls. Ally opens up about her childhood in Dublin 8 with her mother and brother, she discussed her parents separation and her complex relationship with her dad and how she wanted a different path for herself when she eventually settled down. Ally modelled as a young teen into adulthood around Dublin and abroad and spoke honestly about how different the industry is now compared to back then and how she approaches her children's own blossoming modelling careers as young kids. Ally has worked for years in media and spoke about how she made it work through different pregnancies and births. Lynsey spoke to Rebecca about her kickstart in the beauty business after leaving her corporate job just before the global recession and how she and her sister built a successful salon business from scratch through hard work, long hours and and perseverance. Meanwhile, not long after she took on the salon she also fell pregnant with twin girls, Lynsey opened up about the challenges that presented but how she still showed up for her job and continued to grow the business. Lynsey also developed Lusso tan with her siblings following a conversation over a family dinner and explained to Rebecca about how self tan is such an essential part of the self-care process for women because whether pregnant, postpartum or parenting women want to look and feel good in their skin and a little glow helps. Pamela grew up as an only child in a home with business-owner parents and she tells Rebecca that that's where she gets her distinct drive from. Pamela explains how she built her beauty business and career, the decision to close her salon with her mother Yvonne during Covid when her dad became very unwell and getting to appear on Dragon's Den and The Apprentice. Pamela also opens up about her fiance and respecting his privacy and not flaunting her relationship on social media, she told Rebecca she is one and done after the birth of her daughter and how she planned her c-section so she could have some control on the day and what her plans are for the future following the sad passing of her dad who had suffered from Alzheimer’s for years.
