Cael Sanderson isn’t the first great Penn State wrestling coach, merely the latest. John Fritz was a pretty good one, too. Fritz, who won a national title for PSU in 1975, took over the Lions’ program in 1993 and immediately led the Lions to an unbeaten season. Fritz also coached a few national champs, notably heavyweight Kerry McCoy.
