This week, we welcomed guest pastor Ryan Johnston. He continued working through 2 Timothy with us and encouraged us to be diligent in presenting ourselves as one approved by God, to guard ourselves against deception, and to stand firm in the faith. He shared with us what it means to be an approved worker who needs not be ashamed. Ryan also shares that this passage in 2 Timothy warns against irreverent and empty speech and how such untruth can spread and damage the body of a church. Finally, Ryan encouraged us to stand firm in the faith. He reminded us to call on the Lord and turn from wickedness by saying two things. 1. I love you, Lord, and 2. Continuing through Paul’s letter to Timothy, we find Paul reminding Timothy of more truth. From Pastor Brad, we are reminded of this week’s big truth: to endure hardship, we must remember that we have hope.  As Paul reminds Timothy, we must also remember that Jesus has won, scripture is unstoppable, and God is faithful. As we learn to live, remind yourself of the truth.  What truth from the sermon will you apply to a specific situation this week?  Who can you share this hope with?  As you consider this, also continue to think through “who’s your one” and pray for opportunities to share this hope with them this week. As we continue reading 2 Timothy, we learn more about what Paul is encouraging Timothy to do and how he’s instructing him specifically. We take all this into consideration as Paul’s words still encourage us in our own relationships with Christ. Our big truth this week is that God’s mission compels me to give my all. Firstly, God’s mission compels me to give my all, even in hardship. His mission compels us to give our all by eliminating distractions, eliminating shortcuts, and eliminating laziness. What distractions do you need to eliminate from your life?  In what area are you shortcutting your relationship with God? This week, as we continue in 2 Timothy, we see Paul encouraging Timothy to be a disciple-maker.  We see him instruct Timothy to follow and teach the bible with faith & love, and to rely on the Holy Spirit to guard the gospel from error.  We also see Paul remind Timothy to understand the risk of ministry, as well as to appreciate the refreshing moments. Finally, Paul brings it home by reminding Timothy from whom his strength comes, and urging him to entrust the gospel to others. The big truth this week was that the gospel was given to be given away. This is what Paul is encouraging Timothy and us to do.  To guard the gospel, as we entrust it to others.  As we move into this week, consider whether you are a disciple, what kind of disciples you are making, and who you might be able to refresh as you work together in ministry. This sermon is from 2/8/2026

Pastor Brad shares a big truth with us this week that to live unashamed, we must rely on God’s power by remembering His grace.  We are saved, saved to a purpose, saved by God’s plan, saved to be immortal, and saved by a person. These truths are the fuel for living our lives, unashamedly, for God.   We must consider our salvation and spend time with Jesus to fuel our lives and continue on mission. This week, as we do just that, consider these things and pray about who your one might be. Week one of our new sermon series in 2nd Timothy was such a blessing.  Pastor Brad, through Paul's simple greeting to Timothy, reminded us of the importance of relationships in our lives to help fulfill our calling. Relationships remind us that we are prayed for, cared for, belong to God, and are equipped and empowered by God. Relationships can help us move from fear to power when we have people in our lives, reminding us that we are all of those things. This week, we had the honor of hearing from Jonathan, a friend and missionary in Uganda. He not only shared what work he is doing in Uganda and his own personal testimony, but he also brought a challenge to the people of Park Church. God is not looking for the able people; he is looking for the willing people. If He calls you to a need, will you go? This week, Trey teaches from Luke  10:38-42. He reminds us that ONE thing is necessary. Martha was not focused on that one thing. She was distracted, had the wrong priorities, and made the wrong choice. Mary focused on the one thing that mattered. Jesus said she made the right choice and that her portion would not be taken away from her. Pastor Trey challenged us to make a choice for 2026 and keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. As we conclude this year’s Advent series, Pastor Marty shares with us this week the profound truth that Jesus is not the savior we expect, but He is the one we truly need.  We learn that we should ask hard questions with open hearts, that Jesus understands what we need saved from far better than we know ourselves, that neutrality toward Jesus is not an option, and that this redeemed life is a treasure of surpassing value. In Luke 7, Jesus sends a message back to John the Baptist, as he was concerned and questioning Jesus’s presence.  He shares some simple truths about John the Baptist with the people there, and then he drops a quote that is difficult for them to understand, along the lines of “...John is great, but the least in the kingdom of God is greater than John...” which confused the people. Marty shares how God’s children are greater than John, because we have knowledge, position, and a calling that John did not have. In this Advent Series, week 3, our big truth is that when I am small, and Jesus is large, my Joy is huge.  John gives us a pattern for how this can increase Joy in our lives. Our Joy will increase when we see that we have everything because of grace. Anything that we have in our lives that is a good gift from God is just that! It is God’s grace to us. Our Joy increases when we have a specific role from God, just as John the Baptist knew he had a particular role within the kingdom, to pave the way for Jesus as a fulfillment of prophecy.  When you can realize & be confident that you are precisely where God has you, that brings freedom & Joy! Lastly, our Joy will increase when we know that we are not the main point. We are just here to point people to the groom - JESUS.  He must increase, and I must decrease!As we learn to live, we must measure our Joy by how much we love Christ, not by comparing with others. This week, we heard from Pastor Brad that our big truth is that Jesus came to deal with our sin by being our substitute.  He read that in John 1:29, John the Baptist identified Jesus as the Lamb of God. He also read in Exodus 12 about the significance of the blood from the passover lamb, which saved the firstborn son of every door it marked.  We know from 1 Corinthians 5:7 that Jesus was the Passover lamb, sacrificed for our own sins.  Hebrews then tells us that all the sacrifices the priest made again and again were never enough, and that the perfect Lamb of God offered only one sacrifice for sins forever, and sat down at the right hand of God. Jesus, the perfect Lamb of God, was a sufficient sacrifice then, now, and forever. This sermon is from 12/14/2025

It’s our first week in our Advent series, Prepare The Way!  In this week’s sermon, Pastor Brad encourages us to prepare ourselves because the King IS on the way!  How should we prepare, though?  Repent of our sins & self-righteousness, recognize our place, receive His cleansing, realize His baptism was for us, and rejoice in our acceptance. The King is concerned about our hearts and wants to know us personally.  This week, remember that if you have accepted Him into your life, you are a son or daughter of God. In our final week, as we walk through the book of Malachi and the first week of Advent, we remember, as Malachi reminds the people of Israel to do so.  God commands us to be grateful, and we continue to turn toward gratitude as we remember the LORD’s past blessing, future healing, and present commands.  This week, spend time remembering where God has blessed you this year, where you need to trust Him for your future, and where you need to be obedient as you wait. Use these prayer prompts: I am grateful to you LORD because ____________. I trust you LORD for ____________.As we look forward to the Advent season, we rejoice in the prophecy of Malachi for John the Baptist, who will pave the way for our Savior.
