They finally did it, after 24 years they are finally atop the AL West division. In this episode, I talk about how they clinched, what it felt like, and how we can't take these 'clinched with 88 wins' moments for granted. I pour one out for Dylan Moore, talk about demonic forces in Cleveland, and propose some ideas for how to line the rotation up for the ALDS. I will be back after that series, thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
In this episode, I talk about the scorching hot Seattle Mariners. They can't stop losing in large part to an Etsy witch, mustaches, and an engagement. What has gone right for them in September, why does the schedule lean in the Mariners favor for the rest of the season, and what will Cal's home run total finally be? They control their own destiny, lets ride into a division title! Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
In this episode, I chat about why the Mariners are stuck in the same spot for the fourth straight seasons. I talk about Julio's second half performance, the pitching woes, and why they simply can't win on the road. I conduct a thought experiment on the fate of certain coaches and executives if in fact, the worse does happen at the end of September. I also offer some optimism for a playoff future, so it's not all bad! Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
All hail the Sacred Salmon, may we all look back on that beautiful falling fish moment in October and see it as the turning point of the season. In this episode I wax poetic about the Mariners, the best team in the AL since the trade deadline. I talk about why it's nice to have a lot of good hitters (shocker), how wild it is that Julio is doing his second half bit again, and then I waffle about the roster moves to come when the rehabbing boys get activated. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
In this episode, I break it into two halves. The first half is pre-Geno, chatting about the moves for Naylor and Ferguson and how they were a great start to the deadline week, and then the second half of this episode is post-Geno. I react to the Eugenio Suarez deal, what it means for the team on the field and off it, and chat more about the team building as a whole. I also touch on how the other AL West teams improved at the deadline and what it means for the playoff push. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
if there was any doubt before the ASB, there's absolutely no doubt now that Cal Raleigh is a bonafide star. In this short and sweet episode, I highlight what Mariners players had 'black ink' in the first half, talk about Cal for a bit, mention a couple other trade targets, and then I ask some key questions about the team headed into the final 40% of the season. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
The Mariners have five All-Stars! The team must be cooking, right??? In this episode I take a little bit of time checking out what's been going on with the team, particularly Dominic Canzone? But most of this episode is dedicated to the trade deadline and what the Mariners need and what they could do to improve the squad. What are their biggest holes to fill, who is available, and who makes sense for the Mariners, all answered in this pod. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
They let Donnie get hot baby!! Cal Raleigh, as it stands right now, should win the AL MVP. Are we talking enough about JP Crawford? I hope the M's plan for Bryce Miller has his long term health as the top priority. All those topics and more banter sprinkled in on this episode. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
The podcast is off the IL and it couldn't have picked a better time in the Mariners season to come back. Everything is going great. I take some time in this episode to be angry about bagged Dippin Dots, gush about Cal Raleigh, and then discuss the Mariners organization as a whole and how Dipoto has run out of excuses at this point. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
The Seattle Mariners have entered the Danger Zone. No, not the ethereal plane that the song by Kenny Loggins transports you to, but the baseball Danger Zone where your bad hitters start to regress to the mean, and all of your pitchers hit the IL. It's been a tough May so far, but somehow they are still in first place. The core of their offense is giving us hope, along with the return of Matt Brash and continued dominance of Bryan Woo and Andrés Muñoz, they're not too deep in the Danger Zone... yet. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
The first month of Mariners baseball was a delight to behold, can they keep getting away with it? In this episode I dive into some team and individual numbers now that we are a month into the season and I feel good about getting some stat based takes off. Can the offense continue this torrid start, can the pitching find its footing? Let's chat some numbers together. Thanks for listening! Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
In this episode I propose some baseball related things that need to change, and I propose a radical way to improve the discourse around the sport. I also break down the bizarre April that Julio Rodriguez has had and what it might mean for the rest of the season. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
Torpedo bat, engaged. Cal Raleigh is dumping all over the place and the Mariners are playing exactly .500 baseball. What can we take away from the first 20 games of the season, if anything, and how have the Mariners played up or down to the early season expectations thus far? I ramble about the current state of affairs without delving too deeply into the stats, because that's a task for early May. Matt Brash can you please come back? Thank you for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
Well, we haven't had to cancel the Mariners season yet, which is good news. In this episode I talk about what has been happening in the first week and change of baseball, I chat torpedo bats, the Dodgers, Johnny Cueto? and then get into some brief Mariners chat. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
Big Dumper got PAID, Mitch Haniger was released, and a new streaming service was launched, what a week for the Seattle Mariners! I take a temperature check of the assumed opening day lineup, and look who is going to make up the last two bullpen spots. To finish the show, I give my MLB predictions and get them 100% yet again. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
The table is set, the pitching staff gives this team a solid floor, but can the offense take them to the postseason? In this episode I talk about this group of position players and what they can do this season. I talked a lot about how we should both appreciate what Julio has done as a player and also expect more, because the offense will go as far as he can take it. Talked about everyone else and what we can expect from the AAA group as well! Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
In this episode I preview the pitching staff for the 2025 Seattle Mariners, and chat about how good they'll have to be yet again for the team to contend, and I set out to answer some questions. Can the rotation continue their healthy ways? Can the bullpen get back to 'best in baseball' conversations? Is the depth enough to get through the season? Cy Young? All of those questions are pondered in this one. Thanks for listening, position player preview is next!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
Spring Training is in full swing, and I chat about what I generally look for from players over the Spring. I go over the interesting pitch additions by many of the Mariners pitchers, some notable hard hit balls from some position players, and I chat about the 3b conundrum the Mariners have manufactured for themselves. Plus, what kind of milk do you think Mitch Haniger drinks? I answer that question in this episode.Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschaosball@gmail.com
What's happening down in the Mariners farm system??? They've got plenty of interesting fellas that are worth talking about! In this episode I talk about what prospects we are likely to see make their debut's this season, what prospects we will 100% not see in MLB this season, and all the interesting names in between. Welp, the off-season is pretty much wrapped up for the Mariners. This podcast has zero structure, and it's mainly just me vamping about how I feel about the team heading into pitchers and catcher reporting. I chat about Jorge Polanco and the rest of the position player depth, or lack of. I finish the episode with talking about Luka Doncic and Ben Zobrist. Thanks for listening!Twitter - @chaosball1977Email - mschoasball@gmail.com
