Description

In 2021, Davie Donaldson sought to solve the long-standing mystery of the Unknown Bairn, a young boy whose body washed up on a Scottish beach and was never claimed. Since that time, a number of Scottish Travellers have contacted him with stories of children being forcibly removed from their families. This becomes the catalyst for Davie's investigation into why this happened and whether it was sanctioned by the church and state. Along the way, the mystery that began it all re-enters Davies' life, taking him to a truth that's been hidden in the shadows for too long.

I hate to repeat what others have already said, thank you for all who took part in this story. Thank God times have changed for the better, my heart is with those that had to go through all that pain and heartbreak just to be able to live their life how they want to.

Thankyou for sharing with us not just the story of the unknown boy but also of the attitudes of the authorities and the tragedy of the lost generation. I am a child of the 50s. As a youngster I can remember children of travellers coming to the School for a term and the cruelty and teasing they got.One lass in particular who was shamed by the teacher because of her dirty clothes and face and in particular her dirty feet when we had gymn. I could not understand why. At 10 I did not see her from being different but rather exotic and exciting because she got to move around. She was my friend for a term and then her and her family left. I have never forgotten Morag nor the adults who taught us children the 3 Rs and prejudice . I can also remember the council building so called winter quarters for families and the public outcry against them being in the neighbourhood. It was the mindless utter hatred of these utterances because people live a different lifestyle. Unfortunately the Scottish
