Jon takes an in-depth look at the Bucs pre-draft outlook, positional needs and the prospects likely atop GM Jason Licht's board as he gets set to draft 19th overall.
Jon breaks down each NFL team's opening day of free agency, including the moves he liked and the moves he has concerns about. Are the Bears focusing resources where they should be? Could Sam Darnold be the sneaky splashy addition of day 1? Can the Saints weather their losses? Bucs GM Jason Licht stays dangerous Why the Bengals re-signing of Germaine Pratt was so interesting Falcons making value moves How much better are the Broncos relative to what they've spent in FA?
Jon & Shaad dive deep into the NFL Draft evaluations of Utah TE Dalton Kincaid, Notre Dame TE Michael Mayer and Oregon State TE Luke Musgrave.  Jon & Shaad agree on a lofty comparison for Kincaid, and offer their projections for his NFL ceiling. Is Mayer a good enough athlete to be a TE1 in the NFL? Can Musgrave lean on his clear strengths enough in the NFL to overcome his glaring weaknesses?  Finally, the guys discuss the importance of the NFL Combine, especially for tight ends.
Jon and Shaad get deep into the evaluation of Pitt DT Calijah Kancey, before weighing how B.J. Ojulari's skill set translates to the NFL, and whether Siaka Ika can reach his 3-down potential as a pro.
Jon tackles the evaluations of Iowa defensive end Lukas Van Ness and Georgia edge defender Nolan Smith. How much should college production matter for edge defenders? What stats should we look at? What context do those production numbers need to be properly utilized in evaluation? Is size/weight a big detriment for edge defenders?
Jon dives into his history scouting edge defenders in the NFL Draft, and what his evaluation of Myles Murphy & Tyree Wilson look like compared to consensus. Does Murphy have the traits to become a top tier edge rusher in the NFL? Why did he struggle so much in space at the college level? Wilson's power is wild to watch on tape! But how many edge rushers win primarily with power in the NFL? And should we be concerned with how raw Wilson is at almost 23 years old?
Jon is joined by Next Gen Stats researcher Taylor Kyles to break down 8 potential AFC playoff teams making the case for and against each squad as a Super Bowl contender. Jon also forgot to break down the Chiefs (lol), so here are his notes on KC: Argument For The Chiefs as a contender: Quite easily the best offense in the NFL. No team is close to their EPA/dropback. They run the ball better this season, and neutral pass rate is outstanding, one of best teams in NFL at throwing in neutral spots. JuJu improving as a top option as well. Argument Against Chiefs as a contender: Their defense is not to typical championship standards. 21st in EPA/play and 22nd in EPA/dropback. Spags and Chris Jones are carrying them. Nick Bolton and L’Jarius Snead are good, but not a ton of talent. Young CBs Trent McDuffie, Joshua Williams, and Jaylen Watson are huge question marks. How they play will be big in the postseason.
Jon and Paul talk about all the Bucs' 2022 issues, including a lack of targets for Mike Evans in Week 6 and a defensive performance that was far sloppier than the box score indicates.
Introduction to Audibles & Analytics, then breaking down every Week 2 matchup with scouting takeaways and key stats. Any hope for the Colts and Bengals? Which defense does Jon think is arguably the league's best right now? Some cool wrinkles in the Commanders offense, context to Aidan Hutchinson's 3-sack game, several unsung defensive studs, concerns on the Rams and Bucs, ranking the rookie WRs through two weeks and more.
