Messianic Shabbat - The Harvest

Yom Teruah, also known as the Day of Blowing Shofars, is the first of the fall holy days of our God and King! It is a day that we celebrate His compassionate rule and reign over our lives! It is a day that begins the Ten Days of Awe which is when we take time to reflect and meditate on His Kingdom. It is a time in which we renew our allegiance and commitment to Him as King of kings and Lord of lords! Join us as we ready ourselves for this sacred time.

Charlie Kirk has been publicly murdered in cold blood! How can believers make any sense out of this? What’s next? We must be careful in how we view this atrocity and, more importantly, how we respond to it. Please join us as we endeavor to understand his life and death through the framework of the Word and the Spirit.

Join us as we continue to look at hell, the afterlife, and Christian Universalism. Christian Universalism's main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. For some, hell will be what it takes to accept Jesus. After enough suffering in hell’s fires, everyone will eventually give in and believe in Jesus, joining the rest of believers in heaven eternally. This view is hopeful but misguided and heretical. We have already seen how this view violates Scripture. Today we will focus on the nuance of the word “eternal” meaning “without end” and how that relates to hell.

Join us as we continue to look at hell, the afterlife, and Christian Universalism. Our culture loves the idea of no hell and no punishments. From John Lennon’s hit song, "Imagine," to Pastor Rob Bell's book, "Love Wins," the seductive, age-old heresy of Christian Universalism has lured the American church in. Christian Universalism's main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. For some, hell will be what it takes to accept Jesus. After enough suffering in hell’s fires, everyone will eventually give in and believe in Jesus, joining the rest of believers in heaven eternally. This version and idea of hell is heretical and dangerous. Join us in this series as we present a defense of the biblical hell that is grounded deeply in sacred Scripture.

Regardless of one’s definition, hell is a place that no one would want to end up. There is nothing more horrifying or tormenting, than realizing you are slated for hell. In recent years, the idea of God sending people to hell where they suffer conscience pain and torment forever has been challenged. Rob Bell wrote his influential book, “Love Wins” where he questions whether a loving God would do this. This has highly impacted the Church and has given credibility to Christian Universalism, the idea that all human beings will ultimately be saved and brought into a right relationship with God. Its main teaching is through Jesus Christ, salvation will eventually be realized for everyone, not just for a chosen group or believers in this life. The question for us is, is this Scriptural? Join us as we start this new series on hell and the afterlife.

The spirit of this fallen world wants everyone to strive for money, fame, power, and glory. It glamorizes these and markets them in a way that is convincing and irresistible. It wants you to believe that if you have these things, you will be happy but most people will never have these things and those that do, will discover that they do not bring any amount of true and enduring happiness. What matters is faith in Jesus. It is the very thing that secures true joy, peace, and happiness. Join us as we discover that our faith in Jesus is more precious than gold.

What really matters in your life? Deciding and choosing what matters will ultimately bring you peace or turmoil, blessings or curses, joy or depression. Let’s make sure to choose and prioritize what is important in life so as to safeguard our peace and joy. Join us as we explore what God says should matter.

The mind can get sick in similar ways to the body. Instead of a virus or bacteria it can be afflicted by things like anxiety, worry, fear, depression, guilt, shame, delusion, etc. These infirmities of the mind left unaddressed will negatively impact our daily lives in ways that can bring confusion, fatigue, misery, and hopelessness. The good news is that God is all about healing our minds and showing us how to foster a strong, stable, and healthy mental state. God’s will is for us to have and enjoy sound, healthy minds! Join us as we explore a few biblical principles related to cultivating and enhancing mental health and wellbeing.

This world, fallen as it is, belongs to God. He is the creator and thus the ruler over it. He is reclaiming and redeeming it. All those who put their trust in Him are invited to rule and reign with Him over it. Join us as we discover what it means to rule and reign with Him!

The blessings of God are designed for you and your children and your children’s children for a thousand generations. These blessings are conditional on faith and faithfulness. We pass God’s blessings to our children by teaching and modelling for them what it means to trust in the Lord and keep His ways. The true test of parenting is what they believe and how they live when they leave our homes and establish their own homes. The blessings of God are sustained or loss in each successive generation. So, let’s teach our children our Father in heaven’s will, so that they can live successful, prosperous lives amid an evil and fallen world.

The story of Korah is chalked full of principles related to authority and rebellion. Korah himself becomes a symbol of rebellion, shame, and shocking judgements due to his pride and stubbornness. The cardinal lesson is that rebellion against delegated authority is rebellion against God. The Spirit of Korah is alive and well today. It seeks to lead people to separate and rebel against God’s delegated authorities. God hated it then and hates it now. Staying away from those who walk under its influence will keep you safe against all the fallout that is coming to their lives. Join us as we learn the earmarks of the Spirit of Korah.

Jesus came that we might have life and life abundantly. In Him we are blessed. But we live in a fallen and dangerous world. Due to this, we will face “giants” who oppose and threaten us. We will either cower and risk losing what God has called us to and given us, or, like David, we will yield to and be filled with Holy Spirit and slay our giants! Join us as we continue to explore what God can do through His Spirit as we look at the story of King David.

Being filled with the Holy Spirit and living life by the leading of the Holy Spirit is not only adventurous but it is also deeply meaningful. With the Holy Spirit, we can overcome every storm that threatens our life and well being. It is life in and by the Holy Spirit that we become the best and noblest version of ourselves. Through the Holy Spirit we can live life as victors rather than victims. Join us as we continue to explore what God can do through His Spirit as we look at the story of King David.

We all have or will face overwhelming circumstances that threaten our happiness and/or even our very lives. A terminal illness, the loss of a loved one, prison, violence, financial ruin, betrayal, homelessness, etc. We will either succumb to these challenges or rise up and overcome them. You may say my situation is impossible! God says, all things are possible to the one who believes. Our choices are clear, surrender or fight. Join us as we explore what God can do through His Spirit when we believe.

When we look at the story of the Exodus, there is much we can learn about our own stories of sin and freedom in Jesus. It is true that the Lord came and saved us in our Egypt’s of sin and shame and He also mandated that we come out of them. We cannot stay in our Egypts. This exodus, both past and present, was to be in haste! How is your journey out of places of sin and into places of holiness coming? Are you making progress? Is the pace in haste or are you slacking and lagging behind? Join us as we continue the journey together. We shall be holy for our God is holy

The Lord is holy! And because He is holy, He expects His sons and daughters to also be holy. But what exactly is holiness? What does it mean to be holy like Him? Join us as we explore this intriguing aspect of our Father. A aspect that each of us are called to. Let’s pursue holiness for without it none of us will see the Lord (Heb. 12:14).

Join us as we hear a special message from Fay Yalenga, wife of Rabbi Alex Yalenga, from Zambia Messianic Fellowship. Zambia Messianic Fellowship (ZMF) is the oldest grouping of Messianic Jewish Congregations in Zambia. They are a Yeshua (Jesus) centered and Torah observant organization made up of Jewish and Gentile believers in Messiah Yeshua. Alex and Fay also oversee several other young Messianic Congregations dotted all over Zambia. Fay is the founder and in charge of the orphanage day school (160+ Children) in western Lusaka and live-in orphanage in eastern Lusaka both named after the late messianic Jewish Rabbi Jerome Fleischer.

God is a god of order, not chaos. As His children, we are called to order our lives. Part of ordering is arranging things in a way that prioritizes the important aspects of life. This is what brings blessing, peace, and prosperity. Today we will look into the four great priorities of life; God, family, church, and government.

There is no greater dynamic and empowerment than that which comes from being immersed in the Holy Spirit! It is by and through the Holy Spirit that we are born anew and enabled to be reflect and represent Jesus here in our world. This infilling of the Spirit is for all who believe in Jesus. The only requirement is that we ask, seek, and pursue being filled up with the Holy Spirit. In this teaching we will unpack what it means to advance the Kingdom of God by the Holy Spirit!
