John Williams, one of our lay leaders, preaches from 2 Samuel 23: 20-23 (NASB):
“Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab. He also went down and killed a lion in the middle of a pit on a snowy day. (21) He killed an Egyptian, an impressive man. Now the Egyptian had a spear in his hand, but he went down to him with a club and snatched the spear from the Egyptian’s hand and killed him with his own spear. (22) These things Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did, and had a name as well as the three mighty men. (23) He was honored among the thirty, but he did not attain to the three. And David appointed him over his guard.
We say we trust God, but we still grip the wheel. What if the exhaustion we feel is not from doing too little, but from carrying what was never ours to carry? In Rhythms of Grace: Entering His Rest, Pastor John calls us to stop striving, release control, and rediscover the kind of trust that allows our souls to finally breathe.
What if you do not need to try harder, but train wisely? Pastor John Williams shows how grace comes before discipline, and how small, consistent practices form a life that can actually sustain spiritual growth.
What if the strength you need for everyday life was never meant to come from trying harder, but from receiving power God already promised? In this message, Pastor Vanessa York reminds us that the Holy Spirit is not just for Sunday mornings, but for daily life, shared mission, and bold witness. When God’s people learn to ask, depend, and walk together in the Spirit’s power, everything changes.
What if your struggle isn’t proof that God is finished with you but evidence that He is still working? In this brief devotional, we are reminded that even when the tension between the Spirit and the flesh feels overwhelming, God is faithfully completing the work He began in us. As we continue surrendering to the Holy Spirit, we can live with confidence that our growth, healing, and purpose are still unfolding.
What if real spiritual victory doesn’t come from trying harder but from surrendering more? In this message, we are reminded that freedom from the flesh isn’t found in willpower, rules, or religious effort, but in learning how to walk daily by the Holy Spirit. When the Spirit leads, transformation follows and the fruit of a changed life becomes impossible to hide
“What if the church doesn’t need a new strategy, but a return to God’s original design? In this message, we’re taken back to Acts 2 to rediscover the blueprint of a Spirit-yielded church: devoted to Scripture and prayer, united in love, generous in action, alive in worship, and faithful in mission. This isn’t about recreating the early church...it’s about yielding to the same Holy Spirit who built it.”
What if the reason we don’t see more of God’s power isn’t because He’s absent, but because we’re resisting? In this message, Pastor John Williams calls us to lay down control, yield fully to the Holy Spirit, and rediscover what happens when the church gives God the right of way.
What if God’s rescue doesn’t arrive the way you expect, but exactly the way you need? In this message, shared by Elder Matt Hall, we’re reminded that salvation didn’t come with a cavalry, but through obedience, suffering, and a Savior who stepped into our broken world to rescue us, and then invites us to join the rescue.
What if Advent isn’t just about remembering the King who came, but preparing for the King who’s coming again? In this message, Nexus Director, Boris Salgado calls us to live as citizens of heaven today: honoring others, loving our neighbors, shutting the mouths of foolishness through godly character, and laying down our pride before the true King. If you’re ready to reflect, repent, and realign your life with Jesus, this message will lead you there
What if thanksgiving isn’t just something you feel, but something you carry into every room you enter? In this message, our Creative Director, Traveon unpacks how gratitude becomes contagious, communal, and transformative when we live it out loud.
What if the breakthrough you’ve been praying for starts with learning how to pray again? As Jawon Bradley says, ‘I’m anxious about everything and praying about nothing’—and this message shows us how returning to prayer restores peace, clarity, and a grateful heart.
What if gratitude wasn’t just something you felt, but the way you lived? In this message, Pastor John unpacks how dwelling in God’s presence turns thanksgiving from a reaction into a lifestyle, where peace becomes your rhythm and praise your reflex.
Is your posture keeping you from God’s peace? In this powerful message, Elder Krystal Talley teaches how a heart of thanksgiving can realign your spirit and open you to God’s presence.
What if lament isn’t the end of faith, but the place where real hope begins? In this powerful message, Pastor Vanessa York reminds us that grief and sorrow are not signs of weakness, but invitations for God to heal, grow, and unite His people through honest lament.
“Our Story” isn’t just about who we are, it’s about what we’re called to. In Part III, Pastor John Williams unpacks what it means to truly seek first the Kingdom of God. This message reminds us that as part of the Bride of Christ, we’re called to live with purpose, surrender, and a heart for others. Discover how our story as One Church is written when we align our lives with the mission of God’s Kingdom.
