The religious leaders arrested Peter and Jon, but could not resist the force of their testimony about Jesus’ death and resurrection, which provide the only way of salvation.
After the Lord healed a man lame from birth, Peter announced the gospel to the crowd along with the promised blessings for those who would repent of their rejection of Jesus and believe in him.

Once Jesus ascended on high, he sent the Father's promised Spirit to light up the church and empower her for her mission.
In Peter’s first of eleven speeches in Acts, he showed how Judas needed to replaced with another apostle so that the remade Israel would be complete and ready to be a witness to the nations.
In his second volume, Luke revealed that the promise of the Father would be the baptism in the Holy Spirit to empower Jesus’ followers to be witnesses to the ends of the Earth.
In fulfillment of the Old Testament scriptures, Jesus died, was raised, and was taken up to God’s right hand, where he lives to represent his people.
On the first resurrection day, Jesus’ own disciples believed that he was raised as they remembered his words, understood the Scriptures, and broke bread together.
Jesus’ sayings reveal the meaning of his death on the cross, and some who witnessed it got the message.
God used the sinful actions of humans to fulfill his will to provide the innocent one to take the place of the guilty.
As one of his disciples betrayed him and the others slept, Jesus wrestled in prayer to submit to his Father’s will and overcome his adversary.
Jesus demonstrated true greatness by taking the place of a servant in his life and in his death.
On the night he was betrayed, Jesus gave new meaning to the Passover in a meal that he gave to participants in the New Covenant.
Jesus foretold of the coming deceivers, the coming persecution, the coming destruction of Jerusalem, the coming of the Son of Man, and the coming challenges.
In a series of verbal skirmishes with religious leaders, Jesus showed who we are and how we should live as the image of God and children of the resurrection.
Because they questioned and rejected Jesus’ authority, the chief priests were removed from their post and replaced by others from all the nations.
As Jesus finally approached Jerusalem, he admonished the leaders and affirmed his mission.
It’s one thing to say we believe, another to demonstrate it with what we do with our possessions and our abilities.
In a series of encounters, Jesus showed the way to enter the kingdom of God.
People asked Jesus about when and where the kingdom of God would come, but Jesus focused on the fact that it’s already present and how we should live until the end.
