The purity of the music defiantly lost something over the decades, as the music industry (agents and "producers"), tried to influence the structure and "appeal" of the music they released. I've told you before, the last two decades of Christian music I have nicknamed, Coffee Shop Christian music. I do have hope for the few that are still putting their soul into what they release. There are a few. And thank God that 'the ones that brung us', are still beating their own drum...like you brother.
