I started young with weed and alcohol, then graduated to cocaine and acid. By my twenties, the party life was all I knew. After getting hurt at work in 2014, pain pills took over, and I was eating enough every day to knock down an elephant. I quit the pills in 2015, thought I was free, but I just traded them for more drinking and drugs. I left Illinois trying to outrun addiction and crashed into an even darker meth addiction, suicide attempts, and hurting people I cared about. At rock bottom, the recovery community found me, and for the first time, I found hope. Today, I’m living a life I never believed was possible — sober, present, and grateful to be alive.
For years, I was trapped in addiction, chasing highs that dragged me into violence, crime, and the brutal reality of prison life. Behind bars—surrounded by gangs, fear, and survival—I was forced to confront the person I had become. In that darkness, something shifted. Through hard truth, deep reflection, and the lifeline of recovery, I started rebuilding my life from the inside out. Choosing faith, accountability, and healing over destruction transformed everything. Today, my mission is clear: to help others break free from the same chains that once held me. My story isn’t about shame anymore—it’s about redemption, recovery, and the power of real change.https://www.facebook.com/bobspringer82
After addiction cost him everything — his home, his possessions, and eventually his freedom — Nate ended up behind bars. Just six months out of prison, he walked out with nothing but the clothes on his back and found himself standing at the doors of The Christian Center in Anderson, Indiana. With his wife on her own recovery journey, Nate made the choice to fight for a new life and accept the hope offered to him. Join us as Nate shares his raw, powerful story of rebuilding from rock bottom and how The Christian Center is transforming lives across the Anderson community.https://www.thechristiancenter.org/https://www.facebook.com/TheChristianCenterAnderson
