If you’ve hit $10K months but can’t seem to grow beyond it, this episode is for you.
It’s one of the most common plateaus I see as an e-commerce coach, and today I’m breaking down exactly why it happens (spoiler: it’s not just about working harder) and how to move past it with clarity and confidence.
This isn’t theory. It’s based on real conversations with clients, my own journey scaling and selling a fashion brand, and the patterns I see every week inside my mastermind.
Inside this episode, I’ll walk you through:
The hero product blind spot that keeps you stuck in “creating mode” instead of scaling
Why under-spending on proven ads might be the real reason your growth has stalled
The surprising cost of doing everything yourself and how to start stepping into your CEO role
What happens when you don’t have a clear end goal (and how to fix it fast)
Whether you’re still figuring out your bestsellers or already seeing results but can’t scale further, this episode will help you spot where the real bottlenecks are and what to do next.

So often, I hear from founders who feel frustrated that their products just aren’t selling the way they’d hoped, even though they know the product itself is great. And more often than not, the missing piece isn’t the product at all, it’s the content of the visuals.
Because visuals are more than “pretty pictures.” The right content tells a story, shows your product in context, and makes it easy for your customer to imagine themselves using it. That’s what builds trust and gets someone to click “add to cart.”
To explore this, I sat down with stylist and creative director Sandra Chau. Sandra began her career as a lawyer, then moved into the wedding industry, and eventually found her true calling in brand styling. Today, she’s based in Sydney and works with e-commerce brands across the world, from luxury bedding to minimalist swimwear, helping them create visuals with intention, clarity and selling power.
In this episode, Sandra and I chat about:
Why the content of your visuals matters more than the aesthetic alone
How lifestyle-driven imagery helps your customer connect and feel confident to buy
The mistakes founders often make with product photography, and how to fix them
What brands like Nimble Activewear and DISSH are doing right with their visuals
Simple, practical ways to start creating content-rich imagery that resonates with your audience and converts
Sandra’s approach is about clarity, not complication. You don’t need a huge budget or endless photoshoots. You need visuals with a clear story, created intentionally for your customer, so they do the heavy lifting in your marketing.
If you’ve ever felt like your photos “look nice” but don’t seem to move the needle, this episode will show you how to rethink your visuals as strategic content that actually sells.

When I grew my fashion business from $350K a year to $1.3M in just 12 months, it wasn’t because I suddenly worked harder, launched dozens of new products, or threw endless money at ads.
It was because I made three very specific shifts that changed everything.
In this episode, I’m pulling back the curtain on what really worked to create consistent, profitable growth. Not the shiny version, but the practical, sometimes unglamorous moves that turned a business into a reliable 7-figure success.
Here’s what we cover:
Why focusing on best sellers and letting go of the rest freed up cash, energy and headspace
How creating a marketing rhythm with campaigns, creators and email made sales predictable instead of patchy
The back-end systems that kept growth sustainable and gave me the space to step into my CEO role
What I’d do differently if I was starting over, from finances to photography to getting support sooner
The lessons every founder should know before trying to scale too fast
This isn’t about doing more. It’s about identifying what’s already working, doubling down, and building structure around it so your business can grow without taking over your life.
If you’re currently sitting at inconsistent $10K months and dreaming of more, this episode will help you see which levers to pull first so you can scale profitably and sustainably.

We cover:
Why a 1% conversion rate is a key benchmark before running ads
The biggest mistakes founders make when jumping in too soon
Why creative and messaging do the heavy lifting in 2025
How to test ads smartly (even on a $10/day budget)
A clever way to boost Instagram followers cheaply and effectively

Have you ever seen your own Meta ad and thought, "That’s not the copy I wrote… and what’s with the strange music and brown text box?"
Then this episode is for you.
In today’s Online Store Success Podcast, I’m unpacking one of Meta’s sneakiest ad features (Advantage+ Creative Enhancements) and showing you exactly what to look out for before your beautiful ads get butchered by automatic AI settings.
If you’re a fashion, lifestyle or baby brand founder using Meta Ads to grow your online store, understanding how these enhancements work is essential.
You’ll learn:
What Meta’s Advantage+ Creative Enhancements actually do
Where they’re hiding inside Ads Manager (and why you’ve probably missed them)
Which options you should switch off immediately to protect your brand
What happens when you leave these toggles on (hint: brown overlays and circus music)
The only enhancement I suggest leaving on, and when it makes sense
A simple way to add music to your ads without letting Meta pick for you
How to stay in control of your ad creative so it actually reflects your brand
I’ve seen too many good ads ruined by these auto-settings, and I don’t want that for you.
📣 If you want a clean, proven setup that doesn’t rely on Meta’s mystery toggles, my One Ad Wonder mini-course walks you through the exact steps to create a high-converting ad for your online store. It’s just $97 and updated for 2025.

If you’re an e-commerce founder stuck in the “messy middle”, that space where you’ve moved beyond the start-up hustle, are making sales, but still not seeing the consistency or growth you want, this episode is for you.
I’m sharing five things I would NEVER ask you to do to grow your online store. These are the well-intended moves that often sound like the next logical step but can actually hold you back, drain your cash flow or put unnecessary pressure on your business.
They’re the kinds of decisions I’ve seen trip up so many founders over the years. Some of them even cost me time, money and freedom in my own journey building, scaling and eventually selling a seven-figure fashion brand.
Inside this episode, I walk you through:
• Why taking out loans or spending big on things like PR, rebrands or websites before you’re ready can create more stress than momentum
• The mistake of throwing more money into ads when your website isn’t converting
• Why constantly discounting or pricing too low from the start eats into your margins and positions your brand poorly
• The risk of investing heavily in a custom website before you’ve got the data and clarity to guide it
• The real cost of leasing a warehouse or office before your business actually needs it, and smarter alternatives that offer more freedom
This episode is a must-listen if you’re starting to feel stuck or scattered. It’s about simplifying your next move, protecting your profit, and building a business that works for your life, not the other way around.

How Louise from Baby Luno Built a Lean, Million-Dollar Brand from Home (During School Hours)
In this episode of Online Store Success, I’m chatting with the incredible Louise Carter, founder of Baby Luno and one of the coaching clients inside my mastermind, The 7-Figure Scale Collective.
Louise has built something pretty special. She’s scaled Baby Luno into a lean, profitable, million-dollar a year e-commerce brand while working from home, in school hours, without a big team or expensive warehouse setup.
We talk about what it really takes to create that kind of growth without the chaos. Louise shares so openly about the ups, the pivots, and how the right support changed everything.
In this episode, we cover:
- The moment she nearly walked away from it all, and what helped her keep going • How simplifying her range and focusing on bestsellers unlocked huge momentum • The systems and structure that let her grow without burning out • What it’s really like inside the mastermind as a busy mum and founder • How she now gets more done in a week than she used to in a month
It’s a juicy one, especially if you’re in the thick of building and wondering if there’s a simpler, more sustainable way to scale.

🎙️ Episode 121: How Much Is Outsourcing Your Ads Management Really Costing You?
If you’re currently paying someone to run your Meta Ads, or considering it, this episode is a must-listen.
Jodie breaks down a real client case study and the numbers behind why outsourcing often costs e-commerce founders more than they realise. It’s not just the monthly fee. It’s the profit you’re handing over… and the control you’re giving up.
📌 In this episode, we cover:
Why outsourcing your Meta Ads can quietly drain your profits
A real example: $2K ad spend + $2K agency fee + 25% cost of goods = a net loss
The hard truth about ROAS (and why 2.5x still might not be enough)
Why most small brands don’t need an agency, they need strategy, support, and confidence
The simple reason you should never outsource the biggest revenue driver in your business
Why managing your own ads isn’t as scary (or as hard) as you think
What to do instead if you want profitable, consistent results
💡 Key takeaway:
Outsourcing sounds appealing, but for most e-commerce founders, it’s a profit leak. Ads are too important to hand over, especially when they drive up to 80% of your sales.

If you're feeling overwhelmed by all the recent changes in Meta Ads, you're not alone.
This week, we're diving into what's actually working right now to help e-commerce founders (just like you) scale your sales without the constant stress of figuring it all out yourself.
In this episode, I’m sharing exactly what's getting results for my clients and my own ads:
Here's a quick look at what you'll learn:
Why Advantage+ Sales campaigns (formerly Advantage+ Shopping) are the clear winners right now and how to adapt your strategy to leverage them.
The truth about broad audiences and why they continue to outperform interest-based and lookalike audiences (spoiler alert: simpler really is better!).
How using your existing Facebook and Instagram posts as ads can give your campaigns a head start, boost engagement, and improve your return on ad spend.
The common pitfalls of relying too heavily on granular targeting, lookalike, and retargeting audiences, and why simplifying your approach leads to more sustainable growth.
Forget complicated hacks and constant algorithm chasing, this episode is all about clear, practical strategies you can implement straight away.

If your Meta Ads have been underperforming for months, you're not alone.
February, March and April were rough across the board. High costs. Low returns. And plenty of head-scratching.
But something’s shifted.
In May, we’ve seen a dramatic turnaround, some clients are getting the best results they’ve seen in six months. And it’s not just luck.
Meta has been quietly rolling out major changes behind the scenes. Some ad accounts have been switched over, others haven’t. And that’s exactly what we’re diving into in today’s episode.
Inside this episode, I’ll walk you through:
What’s changed with the removal of Advantage+ Shopping and the move to Advantage+ Sales campaigns
Why only some accounts have been affected so far (and what to look for)
What’s different with the new campaign structure, more control, more automation, and fewer manual options
Why detailed targeting, custom audiences and retargeting are fading fast
What to do now to make sure your ads stay profitable as Meta continues to evolve
If your ads have been expensive, inconsistent or just plain confusing this year, this episode will give you clarity and confidence moving forward.

✨ Episode Summary:
The U.S. has just introduced a 125% tariff on Chinese-made imports, and while increases for other countries have been paused for 90 days, the message is clear: it’s time for e-commerce founders to get strategic.
In this episode, I break down the latest tariff news as of April 10th, what it means for your pricing, supply chain and profit margins—and how to use this window of time to build more resilience into your business.
We’ll also talk through ways to reduce risk by diversifying where you manufacture, where you sell, and how you market.
Whether you’re directly affected or watching from the sidelines—this is the time to take action, not sit in stress.
🔎 What You’ll Learn in This Episode:
What’s changed with U.S. tariffs and what’s still to come
The exact tariff rates now in place for key manufacturing countries
What the 90-day pause covers—and what it doesn’t
How to check your product classification (HTS codes)
Why resilience matters: diversifying supply chains, markets, and marketing
Action steps you can take now to protect your profit and growth
How to work with me 1:1 to get clear on your best next move
📦 Current U.S. Tariff Rates (as of April 10, 2025):
These rates are applied based on country of origin—where your products are manufactured, not shipped from.
China: 125% (in effect now)
Vietnam: 46% (paused for 90 days)
Indonesia: 32% (paused for 90 days)
India: 27% (paused for 90 days)
Australia: 10% (paused for 90 days)
If you're manufacturing in China, these tariff changes are active and should be factored into your pricing and fulfilment strategy immediately.

Drawing on my experience scaling a seven-figure fashion brand and helping countless clients navigate this challenge, I’ll walk you through the key steps to get it right.

Real-life examples (including some of my early inventory mishaps!) to illustrate why going too deep, too soon, can hurt your cash flow
