Description

Crazy Sexy Food is a podcast about the love of food, the importance of food and how food plays a part in different people’s lives. It’s about the people behind the food and the stories behind the people. The motive is to get to the bottom of our crazy, sexy food culture. Celebrities, restauranteurs, chefs and industry insiders are interviewed by Hannah Harley Young, a photographer by trade and a foodie at heart. Each episode she sits down with a new guest and discusses how food has played a part in their life, their career and fun, topical banter. The podcast is part of the Crazy Sexy Food show, currently found on YouTube.

I’m joined this week by the gorgeous Sian Welby. She’s the host of the Capital Radio Breakfast Show, appears regularly on This Morning, and is a real bundle of joy and positivity! She popped over for a chat over a cuppa (apparently I made a good one!) and talked all about her upbringing in the East Midlands, her hustle from a young age to become a presenter (she filmed her first online show in the dressing room of New Look!), her time as Channel 5’s weather girl (obsessed with this!) and what it felt like to get the call from This Morning – her dream job!Sian is also a new mum like me so we really bonded over how we’ve tackled being working mums, especially in the same industry. I left the conversation feeling really inspired and full of happiness. Sian is a real girl’s girl and I absolutely love her energy! Enjoy.@sianwelby@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.comMusic by @casnova____I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? Because just like great food, a beautiful home should be full of personality, quality, and joy. Wayfair has everything to bring your dream space to life, at prices that make it simple. That’s why I’m proud to partner with them. So, get it out of your head, and into your home with Wayfair.co.uk.
This week I’m joined but one of the most inspirational women I’ve ever met; Fatima Whitbread. As an Olympic javelin champion, and world record holder, Fatima’s lifestory is one that will blow your mind.Behind all the global success, Fatima’s start in life was not for the fainthearted. She was abandoned by her birth mother as a small baby and subsequently spent her childhood in the care system before being fostered. She has experienced it all, but has used her platform to fight for a better care system in the UK. Through her charity, she tirelessly campaigns for changes to be made, sheds a light on the realities of children in care and undertakes extreme challenges in order to raise money and build awareness.Fatima is resilient, strong and a force to be reckoned with. This conversation was raw, honest but also full of hope. Please support all that Fatima does by visiting: https://www.fatimascampaign.com and help support where you can.  @fatima.whitbread@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? This week I’m joined by Jussie Smollett; actor, singer and all-around creative soul. Jussie is no stranger to the spotlight, since his first big break back in 1992 in The Mighty Ducks. He’s most known for portraying Jamal in Fox’s Empire, however, Jussie has also faced the dark side effects of fame. In 2019, Jussie was the victim of a hate crime in 2019, but he was then charged and found guilty of staging the attack himself, getting 150 days in jail before the guilty charge was notoriously overturned in court. In this chat, we cover it all; life as an actor-singer, his time playing such a breakthrough role on Empire (he played a black, gay man), his new music and album (which is out now!) – but we also address the situation he found himself in, in 2019. This is a sensitive topic in which we had to be careful how we discussed it, but I hope it gives you an insight into Jusssie’s thoughts and feelings, the experiences he endured and how he has reclaimed his life back. This is a conversation about growth, reinvention, truth and love. Enjoy. @jussiesmollett@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? The gorgeous Helen Goh joins me this week on the sofa. As the pastry recipe developer extraordinaire, and long time member of the Ottolenghi family, Helen has been creating delicious bakes for over twenty years. As a trained psychologist, originally from Malaysia, Helen marries culture, heritage and childhood memories in her recipes. Her first solo cookbook, Baking and the Meaning of Life has just been released and is not only full of fantastic recipes, but also stories and ideas behind the link between psychology and baking. We discuss her childhood growing up in Australia, meeting Yotam Ottolenghi, and she gives her baking tips and tricks. This week I’m joined by one of the greatest voices this country has produced, Alfie Boe! As one of Britain’s most celebrated tenors, his career has spanned opera, musical theatre and pop. He’s won a Tony, played Jean Valjean in Les Misérables too many times to count, and has performed at sold out arenas around the world.Alfie came over to discuss new music, the life of an operatic singer, how he broke into the industry, and – wait for it – he tries to shatter glass through the sound of his voice in my house!! @mralfieboe@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? This week I’m joined by Laurie Woolever. You may not recognise her by name but you’ll definitely know the man she worked for! None other than Anthony Bourdain. As Tony’s assistant for many years up until his passing in 2018, Laurie has worked in the culinary world for decades as a food writer, recipe tester, cookbook author and also as the assistant to the infamous Mario Batali. She joined me earlier this year in London, whilst on her book tour. She released her memoir, Care and Feeding, which details her hedonistic life in the New York food scene. She led a life of sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll, before finding sobriety. Laurie is very open about her past, and we go into real detail about her time working with Anthony, what he was like behind the scenes and the memory he’s left imprinted on this world. Enjoy this episode, it’s a good one! @lauriewoolever@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? This week we have culinary royalty on the podcast! Michel Roux Jr popped round for a cup of coffee and a chat. Coming from such a prestigious family dynasty, we bonded over trying to prove yourself in a family business and the fact we are addicted to routine! Michel opened up about making the difficult decision in shutting Le Gavroche in 2024, his childhood growing up in the kitchen and his pride and joy for the success of his daughter, Emily. We also delved into his media career and his appearances on Masterchef: The Professionals, what it takes to be a judge on these shows, and his hobbies – running marathons! This was a really indepth and honest conversation so I hope you feel like you’ve got to know Michel even better after this! @michel_roux_jr@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? Pinch me! I cannot believe Estelle came to my home, sat on my sofa and spent some time chatting all about life with little old me! I was – and still am – a huge fan of Estelle’s; she really defined the UK music scene in the early noughties. Fresh from LA, Estelle joins me this week to talk all about her new music, life growing up in London as one of NINE siblings, and the chance meeting she had with John Legend and Kanye West, which changed the trajectory of her career. I love Estelle’s laid back attitude to life, she’s bringing that real LA living energy to the episode, so I hope you love this one as much as I do. @estelledarlings@crazysexyfood@hannahharleywww.crazysexyfood.com Music by @casnova____ I’m so excited to be working with Wayfair.co.uk for season 12! Why? Welcome back and welcome to Season 12 of the Crazy Sexy Food podcast! I took a little break this year to focus on other exciting parts of the brand, but I’m back bigger and better than ever! We have a new set up, an array of incredible guests and exciting, meaningful conversations all around food, life and everything inbetween. We kick this season off with Emily English – aka Em the Nutritionist. She’s taken the world by storm with her easy to follow, delicious recipes, her two Sunday Times bestselling books and her incredibly informative nutritional knowledge.I’m a huge fan of Em’s and have interviewed her several times now. Today is not only the tenth and final episode of the season (sad times!!) but it’s a special episode, recorded all the way from Sri Lanka!! I was kindly taken to this beautiful country before Christmas with Pepper & Seed PR to travel round four of the seven properties in the Teardrop Hotels collection. These stunning boutique hotels range from 4-bedroom houses nestled in the tea country, all the way to 18-bedroom properties in the heart of Galle.  In this episode I sit down with Teardop’s CEO, Henry Fitch to talk all about the portfolio, Sri Lankan food, the tea industry and how he found himself in Sri Lanka in the first place!   This was the most magical trip and I wanted to say a huge thank you to Teardrop for their generosity, Pepper & Seed PR for organsing the trip and Sri Lankan Airlines for getting us there and back!    @teardrop_hotels @crazysexyfood @hannahharley www.crazysexyfood.com   Music by @casnova____   I’m so excited to be partnering with Cheffie on Season 11 of the podcast.    Cheffie is not just a platform; it's a dining revolution. I’m joined by cheeky chap, Calum Harris, this week who popped over to talk all things vegan, why he turned vegan, why he isn’t preachy about being a vegan and his new cookbook, Proper Healthy! We covered it all; his childhood and what he ate growing up, why he loves a ham crisp (!!!!) and why TikTok is better than Instagram! Controversial!  He even brought me food! Delicious chocolate and pistachio cups with crunchy Weetabix bases. This week I’m joined by Candice Brown, the winner and star from The Great British Bake Off, pub landlady of The Greenman in Eversholt, charity campaigner and all round great girl! We sat down just before the Christmas madness and spoke all about her experience on Bake Off, how it changed her life and catapulted her career, and the path she has travelled since. Candice is brutally honest about dealing with negative press, online trolls and also opened up about her diagnosis of ADHD and dealing with mental health. I’ve finally got Poppy on the sofa! This week I’m joined by the Potato Queen herself, Poppy Cooks aka Poppy O’Toole. The social media sensation joined to talk all about her new book, The Actually Delicious Slow Cooker Cookbook, how COVID was the pivotal turn in her life, how she became “viral” and how she creates the brilliant content she puts out. I’ve known Poppy for several years now, and watching her grow has been so wonderful to watch. She’s the most down to earth, humble, lovely woman and is as hilarious in real life as she is online. Today I’m joined by one of the best chefs of our generation, Theo Randall. As the chef proprietor at Theo Randall at the InterContinental in London, he is cooking up some of the best Italian foodn out there. He came over for a chat and we covered it all. Why Italian cookery is just so good, his favourite regional cuisines, earning his stripes (and the Michelin Star!) at The River Café, and we bond over seriously gourmet childhood sandwiches! This week comes one of the most inspirational stories you will hear. I’m joined by Jon Watts, who, at the age of 18 found himself in prison. During his time inside, he turned his life around, completed all 3 levels of the Duke of Edinburgh Award and was released as a full qualified chef. He worked at Jamie Oliver’s Italian restaurant before going on to set up his street food stall and catering business. He is now the proud writer of Speedy Weeknight Meals and is a public speaker for various organisations focussing on young offenders and rehabilitation. This is a story that will blow your mind and perhaps see young offenders in a different light; that there is room for growth, second chances and a better life.   @jonwatts88 @crazysexyfood @hannahharley www.crazysexyfood.com   Music by @casnova____   I’m so excited to be partnering with Cheffie on Season 11 of the podcast.    Cheffie is not just a platform; it's a dining revolution. This week I’m joined by a woman I’ve admired for years. Amanda Ross is the founder – alongside her husband – of Cactus TV, the production company that makes Saturday Kitchen and Between the Covers. As the nation’s most popular live cooking show, I’ve avidly watched Saturday Kitchen for years and to then realise the brains and powerhouse behind it was a strong female, I just had to get Amanda on. We talk all about her childhood growing up in Essex, the changing landscape of TV and what it takes to make it in food TV. We discuss the plethora of incredible chefs she’s worked with over the years and what really goes on behind the scenes of a live show. I find Amanda truly inspiring and absolutely loved this conversation! I hope you do too.   @amandacactus @saturday.kitchen @crazysexyfood @hannahharley www.crazysexyfood.com   Music by @casnova____   I’m so excited to be partnering with Cheffie on Season 11 of the podcast.    Cheffie is not just a platform; it's a dining revolution. It would have to take a special someone for me to bring the crew out of London, away from the set, to film an episode. And Raymond Blanc is indeed that special someone. We travelled to the magical Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in Oxfordshire, where Raymond resides, to film a truly special conversation. Sat amongst the famous gardens, we spoke all about his childhood growing up in France, his somewhat tumultuous start in the kitchens, finally taking over Le Manoir and what food, Michelin stars and tastes mean to him. I felt really honoured to have had this time with him and a huge thank you to the team at Le Manoir for accommodating us.   @raymondblanc @crazysexyfood @hannahharley www.crazysexyfood.com   Music by @casnova____   I’m so excited to be partnering with Cheffie on Season 11 of the podcast.    Cheffie is not just a platform; it's a dining revolution. Welcome to episode two! I’m joined by Tasha Ghouri this week, the star of Love Island and this year’s Strictly Come Dancing. Tasha is a real force of nature – for the greater good. She was the first deaf islander to appear on the show and has used her platform to educate and raise awareness for deaf charities and what it’s like to live with a cochlear implant. She also wrote a book earlier this year, Hits Different, which is loosely based on her life. We need more Tasha’s in this world changing the narrative on reality shows, highlighting the idea of ‘normal’ within what can be a very hyper-perfect aesthetic.   @tashaghouri @crazysexyfood @hannahharley www.crazysexyfood.com   Music by @casnova____   I’m so excited to be partnering with Cheffie on Season 11 of the podcast.    Cheffie is not just a platform; it's a dining revolution. She’s baaaackk!!! It was a long time coming but I am finally here, on your airwaves with a bumper SEASON 11! I cannot believe how far I have come and this season is not going to disappoint. I had to kick things off with one of my childhood greats, Andi Peters. He presented my favourite Saturday morning show, Live & Kicking, and is still as busy as ever as he hosts the ITV competitions throughout your weekday mornings. Aside from TV, he’s quite the culinary maestro and delves into his favourite tastes, how he perfects his mashed potato and why he’s not a fan of sauces! We find out all about his McDonald’s order and, of course, his favourite crisps. Greenwich Menu

Great breakdown of spices and ratios — I’ll try this on pork and maybe even a crispy fried chicken sandwich. If you’re pairing bold rubs with a burger night, it’s handy to preview chain menus and prices so you know what sides or combos to grab. Here’s a quick Carl’s Jr. menu reference: https://carlsjrmenus.com/
