Description

It is 2022 and I still hear women say, "I'll have to check with my husband." And I'm fucking over it. The Be Your Own Daddy Podcast will inspire and teach women how to get out of their own way by challenging their current mindset and beliefs about power. It is time to stop asking for permission to be or do what you were destined for. The host, Alycia Israel, along with the women in her family escaped her sociopathic convict father, digging themselves out of bankruptcy. In college Alycia aspired into the male dominated field of strength and conditioning to pursue her passion for strength. Despite years of being the underdog, Alycia went from making $40,000 a year at one of the most sought out Universities in the country, to taking the leap and starting her own business now grossing over half a million a year. The stories, lessons, and actionable takeaways from guest interviews and original episodes on this podcast will inspire you to break past your limiting beliefs along with any bullshit "glass ceilings" you keep telling yourself exists.

It's time we talk about one of the elephants in the room when it comes to modern health: GLP-1's. As the title suggests, winning requires the truth and tough love a lot of the time and this is part of a speech I gave at a mastermind to 80+ entrepreneurs/fitness coaches, reminding them to quit being a little bitch sometimes. While it may seem harsh, if you've been around here awhile you know it's from a good place and genuinely wanting to help. Listen in as I explain why I know this to be true and the somewhat surprising positive reception this message had to the group.   Time Stamps:   (0:20) Initially Surprised By An Outcome (1:35) Some Back Story (4:03) My Professional Background (10:32) How Lucky Are We? Over the weekend, I presented at a mastermind I've been a part of for years now and I wanted to share one important aspect from it with ya'll in today's episode. That is the idea of doing what's best for the mission rather than what is best for your feelings at the time. This can look like having to have a tough conversation, firing someone, or totally rebuilding your pay structure in your company. The business exists to serve the mission, not the founder. We'll look at what makes selfish decisions, how to reframe your role, and how to actually build a company mission.   Time Stamps:   (1:20) Presented At A Mastermind (2:06) Million Dollar A Year Harsh Reality Presentation (3:02) Mission Over Business (4:36) Personal Story On This (10:55) Why So Many Entrepreneurs Identify With Their Business (13:10) Defining Selfish Decisions (16:18) Reframing Your Role (18:00) Building A Company Mission --------------------- Stay Connected: Instagram: @alyciaisrael Facebook: Alycia Israel Apparel: Be Your Own Daddy
If you didn't hear about the Tea app's recent leak, I have some tea to spill for you about it... Tea suffered a major data breach, revealing users' drivers' licenses, direct messages, selfies and other sensitive information. I recently went through the hiring process and it was VERY DIFFERENT than when I hired my last coach with the rise of AI integrations. I had to share if you are thinking of hiring now or in the future, you don't want to limit yourself to your network or those who are local. Travis Dalrymple is a leadership advisor, business strategist, and the guy people call when their team is a mess and they're too embarrassed to admit it. After nearly two decades leading teams and mentoring entrepreneurs, he wrote How To Suck As A Leader, the brutally honest (and occasionally hilarious), guide he wishes someone handed him when he first got promoted.   Travis doesn't do fluff. His work skips the corporate jargon and dives straight into the real stuff leaders deal with: imposter syndrome, bad communication, team drama, and burnout. Whether through his book, workshops, or his private community The Leadership Lab, he helps business owners stop guessing and start leading with confidence.   He's based in New Jersey, runs on strong coffee and sarcasm, and occasionally posts something useful on Instagram @travdalrymple.   Time Stamps:   (0:46) Welcoming Back Travis (5:05) Drunken Submission To America's Got Talent (13:40) Why Travis Is Passionate About Leadership (18:45) Most Common Mistake Leaders Make (26:06) Leadership vs Operating The Nuts and Bolts (28:00) Patterns or Red Flags (33:10) "Would I Want To Be Led By Me?" Sales gets a dirty scammy rep but the truth is, if you can't sell people you can't help people. Charging people is not immoral, it's required for their success. If you have a good product or service, you have an obligation to be good at sales. I've closed over 2.3 million in sales and only had $7,000 in refunds which is .3% of total sales. Unheard of in my industry. "If your product or service is good enough it sells itself" is such a lazy approach to business. When it comes to most clietentel, they have limiting beliefs around spending money on themselves, mom's and women especially. A tip I have for sales that a lot of people miss: bridging the gap. In this episode, I'm going to explain how a lot of people fuck up sales by talking about themselves too much and not enough about solving their potential prospects problems. We'll also talk about what to look out for during the call and how to personalize your program for what they want in real time.   Time Stamps:   (0:13) If You Can't Sell, You Can't Help (2:16) 50 Dollars A Month For Online Coaching Back In The Day (5:00) Why You Should Listen To Me (8:02) I Was Not Good When I Started (10:51) Bridging The Gap (14:30) Initial Questions (17:00) What Do They Want To Achieve? Something recently happened inside my company that inspired this episode and reminded me the value of effective leadership especially in today's age. We had a payment issue for a client which could have derailed their entire experience with us but my team member not only took responsibility but took extreme ownership in owning the mistake and making it right quickly.
