Paddy is back, Oscar still supports a BBL team and Trent is very emotional...
The boys break down another enthralling test match and recap a series riddled with controversy. They delve into; Broady's retirement, a very questionable ball change, the end of an ashes era, future England bowling lineups and a rather premature Ashes 2025/26 prediction.
With Paddy out on The Hundred duty, Trent and Oscar get into the cracks of the fourth Ashes Test - which saw the Aussies retain the urn at a rainy Old Trafford.
The boys discuss the optimal weather app to follow the storms, Marnus Labuschagne's quintessentially-Marnus Labuschagne antics on his way to a ton, the impacts of brothers Wood and Woakes, Crawley silencing the haters and where the Aussie selectors' heads turn next.
A slightly belated upload - featuring an exclusive interview South African wicketkeeper-batter Kyle Verreynne.
Kyle recounts SA's rollercoaster tour of Australia over Christmas, the current state of South African cricket and how he can break back into the international setup.
The boys also discuss a hugely entertaining Washes, and the Niche Cricket Shit Draft returns - drafting our 'Streets Won't Forget' cricketers.
Paddy, Trent and Oscar dissect England's epic third Test win at Headingley, discussing the impact of Woakes and Wood, whether England are still playing too much golf, and why on earth Oscar supports a Big Bash side...
Trent returns from Headingley to report on the torrent of abuse he both hurled and received at day 1 of the third Ashes Test.
Paddy then chats to Hampshire's no.3 Nick Gubbins to discuss his county season so far, winning the 2016 County Championship with Middlesex, and whether or not Mohammad Abbas really did deny Pep Guardiola a penthouse suite...
The Niche Cricket Shit Draft returns - with the boys drafting their dream Ashes dinner parties.
YJB goes for a wander, Starc replaces his divots, Jimmy needs a break, Stokes bats like Jesus and the long room does absolutely nothing for the reputation of cricket in England...
It's time for the boys to dissect the second Test of the Ashes!
Trent welcomes Paddy (aggressively hungover in Portugal) and friend of the show Oscar Ress to dive deep into the first Ashes Test.
The boys discuss what the result means for Bazball, evaluate Moeen Ali's Test return, ponder Ollie Robinson's mouth, and explore every nook and cranny of a true Ashes classic at Edgbaston.
Jason Sangha - Sydney Thunder captain, New South Wales jet and former Australia U-19s captain - joins the boys for a bumper interview all the way from down under.
Paddy and Trent chat to Jason about:
- Getting bowled out for 15 in the BBL
- Walking over Will Jacks and Harry Brook, before facing a young Shubman Gill and Privthi Shaw at the U-19s WC in 2018
- Scoring a century on first-class debut against a touring England side ahead of the 2017-18 Ashes
- What went wrong at NSW this year
- Rocking up for his First Grade debut in full whites
- Facing Sheffield Shield quick Mark Cameron at just 13 years old
Paddy and Trent are back with a really fun interview with Queensland opener Bryce Street, as he begins a summer in the UK. We touch on his 119* against a touring England Lions for Australia A in 2021, the 2020/21 Sheffield Shield final in which he got targeted by Mitchell Starc and batting with Marnus Labuschagne. We also, much to Bryce's dismay, dive into his pretty manky, controversial, viral run-out while playing in Essex last summer.
The Niche Cricket Shit Draft makes its return, with the boys drafting the best components of a match tea spread.
Paddy and Trent are joined by Oscar Ress for a discussion about just how impactful the impact sub has been, how CSK have turned Ajinkya Rahane's career around and who we're tipping to win the title.
This week's Village Moment comes from the County Championship, where the boys run a 'How to drop a catch 101' crash course for Jimmy Anderson.
The boys also relive the CC's biggest talking points (including friend of the show Ali Orr's recent misfortune), continue to beat the opener crisis dead horse, and run through the Aussie squad that's been announced ahead of the Ashes.
Daniel Bell-Drummond joins Paddy and Trent to discuss the start of Kent's 2023 County Championship campaign and the early signs of the Bazball effect in domestic cricket.
Daniel also dives into his crazy start to professional cricket as a hot young prospect and how he's managed to stay focused since - with summers down under, getting a gig at The Hundred, playing T10 cricket and improving his power-hitting while dominating The Blast. He also tells us what Dave Warner's REALLY like, and describes a night out with Chris Gayle...
From 35 minutes, it's the return of the Niche Cricket Shit Draft, with the boys debating the most pointless cricket accessories.
Paddy and Trent keep true to their promise and double up!
In the IPL: Harshal Patel's failed non-striker run-out shows us that mankads are only human; Rinku Singh bats with his Winku Singh; and Ben Stokes wears black shoes for CSK.
And the County Championship gets underway: Peter Handscomb scores runs but Trent wants him nowhere near the Ashes squad; Foakes and Crawley stake their respective England claims; and Bazball isn't quite as virulent as first thought.
There's also a fairly loose Village Moment of the Week, which the boys duly dive into.
The boys present an exclusive interview with David Payne, left-arm seamer of Gloucestershire, Welsh Fire, and Perth Scorchers fame. He also has one international ODI cap to his name, against the boys in orange in the summer of 2022.
Sid talks to us about winning the BBL, Welsh Fire's prospects at The Hundred, and his emotional England debut - as well as the strict curfew in place after sealing the Netherlands series win.
The Niche Cricket Shit Draft returns with possibly our most stupid rendition yet.

Paddy and Trent are back, with a brilliant interview as well as nothing of real value to comment on regarding this week's cricket, but they give it a go nonetheless. WPL final, The Hundred draft, SA vs WI run-fests and being sexually attracted to cricketers are all on the agenda to kick off the pod.
9:00: Village Moment of the Week - a truly horrible/beautiful Tasmanian Mankad dependent on your outlook.
19:52: An insightful interview with Chevy Green, director of the ACE Programme charity, and a worthwhile cause in boosting ethnic and socioeconomic diversity in cricket.
44:30: The much-adored Niche Cricket Shit Draft returns, debating the worst types of blokes in cricket.
As always, get around the socials. Summer (in the UK anyway) is coming...
Paddy and Trent want to hear from YOU - as the UK cricket season edges ever closer, we want to chat to your clubs and learn about your cult heroes, stories, and what you've got planned for the 2023 summer.
On today's pod we chat: pod-favourite Netherlands beating Zimbabwe, Shaheen Shah Afridi's supreme display of PSL alphadom, and Australia coming good again (have a blow there SKY).
Oscar Ress of Wisden, Cricketer and OE fame joins us for a slightly more informed chat on all things WPL, IPL and SA v WI.
Trent and Paddy then round things up by drafting the most village helmets in cricket, with Trent searching for his maiden victory in the segment.
After infiltrating the upper echelons of the cricket podcast leaderboards, Paddy and Trent offer pretty dangerous incentives for the listeners to push Outside Edge into the top 10 cricket pods.
We discuss the underwhelming conclusion to the Border-Gavaskar trophy, South Africa returning to winning ways, England being underwhelming in white ball stuff against all odds, and the incredible conclusion to the New Zealand-Sri Lanka test. Village Moment of the Week is revisited and Trent faces his pre-season yips at winter nets with Paddy.
From 26:10, we are joined by 21-year-old Sussex opener Ali Orr, ahead of the 2023 pre-season after scoring over 1000 FC runs last year as well as Sussex's first ever double-ton in a List A game. We discuss batting with Rizwan and Pujara, a certain Steve Smith visiting the south coast this summer, as well as a draft of the best ways to get out in cricket.
Paddy and Trent return, albeit with the sniffles, for a quality return to form on the Outside Edge Podcast.
The boys begin by discussing New Zealand's famous Test win over England, the Aussies finally picking up a victory in India and the WPL kicking off in style. The Village Moment of the Week returns as well.
From 13:07, Cricket España head coach and European Cricket Network commentator Corey Rutgers makes his bow on the pod, to discuss Spain's famous T20 win over the Isle of Man last week - in which they bowled their opponents out for 10 (the lowest in cricket history). Corey, who lives with friend of the show Max O'Dowd, has some brilliant European cricket stories and even brings in Spanish all-rounder Daniel Doyle-Calle for a brief natter.
After finding more popularity on TikTok, the Niche Cricket Shit Draft features once more with Paddy and Trent debating the worst bat stickers of all time.
Stick around for a very special guest feature at the end...
A bumper episode of the pod features a historic chat between Paddy and England's all-time leading run scorer, Sir Alastair Cook.
The Chef quickly chats to Paddy on the role he'd play in Bazball, his bowling, and why Trent can't play off his pads.
From 28:15, the original IPL auctioneer Richard Madley joins the boys to discuss his integral role in the tournament's auctions, featuring the rumour behind Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath's joining in 2008, joining Freddie Flintoff for a few beers and KP being, well, KP.
The Niche Cricket Shit Draft is back from 51:30, Paddy and Trent responding to the Nighthawk's criticism by drafting the wettest things one can do in cricket.
Paddy and Trent are back with a bang after a short break. From the 10-minute mark we are joined by Mason Crane from Johannesburg, where he is currently turning it square in the SA20.
We talk about some of his favourite debuts, his mentoring by Shane Warne and Stuart MacGill, and the Niche Cricket Shit Draft returns with some of our favourite cricket-related beers.
Village Moment of the Week and Cricbait headlines make their return, as well as the boys discussing their first bats.
Get around our socials and brand new website to stay on top of things.
