In this uplifting and deeply grounded conversation, Kim speaks with Dr Bridget Melling-Williams — chiropractor, artist, mother, and wholehearted advocate for following your passions at any age. Bridget shares her remarkable life journey, beginning on a farm in country New South Wales and leading her to a meaningful career in chiropractic on the Sunshine Coast.
Bridget opens up about her early years, including the challenges of boarding school and the independence it fostered, followed by her transition into the arts and design world in Melbourne. She reflects on the unexpected pivot that came later in life. Returning to study at age 45 and finding her calling in chiropractic care. Bridget discusses how her creativity and artistic background inform her intuitive, patient centred approach to practice, where trust, connection, and presence take centre stage.
Together, Kim and Bridget explore the realities of balancing family life with big dreams. She also speaks lovingly about their move to the Sunshine Coast, embracing ocean swims, surfing, and the relaxed Queensland lifestyle.
The conversation then dives into chiropractic care and nervous system health. Kim and Bridget highlight the importance of stillness, breathwork, and creating space in a busy world to support emotional and physical wellbeing.
The episode also touches on endurance racing, the camaraderie of the UTMB event, and the mental resilience required for long-distance challenges — both on the trails and in life.
About Bridget:
Bridget Melling-Williams is a chiropractor based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland, where she lives with her husband—also a chiropractor—and their four sons. After a successful career as an artist, Bridget embraced a bold career change in her 40s, undertaking a five-year degree to follow her passion for helping others through chiropractic care. She specializes in techniques such as Sacral Occipital Technique and Neuro Emotional Technique, combining her love of human connection with a holistic approach to wellness.
An avid adventurer, Bridget thrives in the outdoors and continually seeks new experiences as part of her self-care and commitment to living a natural, fulfilling life. She brings to her work—and her conversations—the same curiosity, creativity, and heart that have guided her through life’s transitions.
Her definition of Self Love is: Looking after yourself in a way that I am doing the things I want to be doing. For me that is trying new things.
Her favourite quote is: Life is short and we have not too much time for gladdening the hearts of those who travel the way with us. Be swift to love, make haste to be kind.
This quote is attributed to Henri-Frédéric Amiel, a 19th-century Swiss philosopher, poet, and moralist. It’s from his Journal Intime, where he wrote reflections on life, morality, and human connection.

Quotes:
I loved being a country kid.
I went to boarding school at aged 12 and had to create a real sense of independence. I found it a challenging experience.
I developed a love of art. I knew I wanted to pursue art and see the world.
I encouraged my husband to study chiropractic. We both resonated with it and wanted to incorporate vitalistic health in our lives.
The vitalistic framework always felt natural to me. I stayed away from medical invention when I could.
I felt a little burnout and I really wanted something more.
I spent so much time in the chiropractic community. I found it empowering and nourishing. It filled my cup and I loved learning.
I loved the philosophy of innate intelligence and allowing the body to heal and self-regulate.
I loved studying chiropractic and I found my inner nerd. I loved all the subjects.
I found similarities in creating art and chiropractic. A different form of art but similar in that that I do get to express myself. It’s like being a true artist.
I love the engagement with people and the one on one connection.
I was in love with being a mum with young children. Mike appreciated what I was doing and I appreciated what he was doing.
I kept coming back to chiropractic, the nervous system is the root of everything.
When I decided to study I thought in my head I am going to be 5 years older anyway. I might as well go for it.
I was blown away at how intergenerational it was and they didn’t treat me any different.
Let’s go and have an adventure what is the worst that can happen.
I love the outdoor lifestyle and swim in the ocean, I am learning to surf and trail running.
I love being in nature.
Chiropractic is about regulating your nervous system. It is that master control system.
We want optimum function which allows you to access both pathways.
With a regulated nervous system, you can be your best self creatively, socially and think clearly.
Stresses are always going to be there, we have chemical, physical and emotional stresses.
Chiropractic takes tension out of the spine and out of the nervous system, if the pathways are clear your body is regulated and there is freedom of expression.
We work with the body to enable self expression and self regulation.
The cracking sound is due to gases in the joints and adjustments can still be effective without sound.
We are feeling through the fine layers, knowing what to feel and feeling for change.
Stillness and breathwork is an amazing tool
Practising stillness can be more powerful than active movement.
Focus on breath and sitting in stillness can be great in helping to regulate.
Running in nature, in that landscape was so magical.
I do love variety in my life.
Self love spreads out to those I love. Making sure my boys are ok is nourishing me.
An extension of self love is making sure they are ok and fulfilling their dreams.
Life is short. Make the most of every moment and opportunity.
Be kind!

Quotes:
When we take a moment to honour the land we are connecting to something sacred and ancient.
The essence of the land that we walk, it carries memories, it has energy and spirit.
The Earth doesn’t belong to us. We belong to it.
We are part of a greater big tapestry of life, a cycle that sustains, nourishes and connects us all.
Our farmers don’t just grow food. They nurture life and take care of the land, animals and the ecosystem.
Our Famers live for the reverence for the earth. Mother Nature is one of their biggest business partners.
How can we reconnect and support those that live and work closely with the land?
Start with mindfulness and small daily choices. You can make a difference by where you choose to spend your dollar. Buy local when you can.
Ask questions when you buy food. It creates awareness and connection.
Give gratitude. A simple but profound reminder to pause and give thanks for our food and those who provide it
Share stories. Talk about the beauty and challenges of rural life with your children so they have an appreciation of where their food comes from. The more we share the more we honour those that work for us each day.
Every act of appreciation has a ripple effect.
I like to give a little whisper or prayer to the land that holds us, feeds us and grounds us.
We are not separate from nature we are part of it, even an expression of it.
Take a moment to honour the land on which we walk, the food we eat and honour the beautiful souls that work tirelessly to put food on our tables. Let’s give thanks.

In this heartfelt conversation, Kim sits down with Anna Radal, a former lawyer turned cattle farmer, to explore her remarkable journey from city life in Brisbane to managing a rural property in outback Australia. Together, they dive deep into themes of authenticity, resilience, integrity and the profound connection between self-love and living in harmony with the land.
Anna reflects on her early life in 1970s Brisbane, where her love for horses shaped her path from an adventurous childhood to a successful legal career. After decades in commercial law, Anna made the courageous decision to leave the profession at 50 and embrace a life rooted in farming, family, and nature. She shares candid insights about the challenges of managing a cattle station during drought, maintaining soil health, and navigating the emotional and financial pressures faced by Australian farmers.
The conversation also delves into Anna’s spiritual approach to farming — one that honours animals, the land, and the cycles of life. She speaks movingly about her bond with horses, the therapeutic nature of riding, and her belief in working with nature as a business partner. Kim and Anna also discuss broader issues such as the income disparity for Australian farmers, the importance of supporting local producers, and how gratitude and mindfulness can transform our relationship with food.
Throughout the episode, Kim highlights Anna’s integrity and authenticity. Values that shine through in both her legal and farming life plus the shared belief that true self love includes loving the Earth and the people who nurture it.
About Anna:
Anna Radel grew up in the idyllic adventure of a 1970s Brisbane childhood, where she discovered an early love for both horses and the law. Driven and determined, she pursued her dual passions relentlessly — setting her sights on becoming a leading lawyer while competing in eventing.
But life had other plans. Three life-changing events within six years profoundly altered her trajectory, leading her away from the city and into the heart of rural Queensland — a move that redefined her understanding of success, strength, and connection.
Alongside her husband Craig, Anna realised a lifelong dream: to own and care for their own cattle property. In 2003, with a one-month-old baby and a newly acquired legal practice, they took a leap of faith and bought their first small parcel of grazing land. Fast forward to 2025, and that vision has evolved into a thriving 10,000-acre, organically and regeneratively managed cattle enterprise.
Once a strategic, pedantic, and laser-focused lawyer, Anna has since deepened her connection to the land, the soil, and the energetic world that surrounds us. She believes that the land, with all its biodiversity, profoundly supports human wellbeing — if only we take the time to listen and tune in. Her story is one of resilience, adaptability, and the courage to evolve — qualities shaped by 35 years of life and leadership in the vast pastures of Central Queensland.
Her definition of Self Love is: Owning yourself with pride.
Her favourite quote is from: People of integrity expect to be believed, and when they’re not, they let time prove them right.

Quotes:
The day I met a horse changed my life and my family’s life.
I always encouraged my kids to have crazy adventures.
I am a country girl but love the powerful atmosphere of the city.
Being a lawyer got to the point it wasn’t fun anymore even though I loved helping clients. It was a job that didn’t align with my ethics and values anymore.
Links to the land run very deep. It is more than just a place to work.
You need to look after the land as it is your long term asset.
Coming home to living full time on the farm gave me a chance to heal myself as well as allow my land to heal itself.
I work with nature from a subtle energy level through to what is physically is in front of us.
There is a whole world under the ground.
Nothing is on earth by mistake.
My job is to make everyday a good day for my cows.
I try and wrap them up with energy of love, calmness, serenity, purpose and gratitude.
I have always been guided by my gut.
Land vibrates masses amounts of energy.
Big trees are like centenarians, our guides. The knowledge in a tree is phenomenal.
Horses are very intuitive. Their souls connect to ours so easily.
We wouldn’t be who we are without horses. Since civilisation they have been our teammates.
Mother Nature is both the greatest blessing and sometimes the harsh parent teaching us lessons.
My isolation came from being lawyer than living in the country.
Everyone is different and your differences are beautiful.
Farmers do the hard things every single day. They have no time off.
You can’t let the crisis get you. This too shall pass.
It’s a slow march. Life is just one foot in front of another,
Support Australian farmers by buying direct from farmers markets or family butcher shops when possible

Blackcurrant performance https://blackcurrantperformance.com/
Quotes:
There are wonderful natural ways to help calm your skin and medical treatments too.
Rosacea is more than just redness. It’s a chronic inflammatory skin condition that can deeply affect confidence and wellbeing.
It can be triggered by heat, stress, spicy foods, alcohol, caffeine and harsh skin care products.
There’s no one size fits all when it comes to rosacea. The key is discovering what works best for your skin.
Choose good anti-inflammatory foods. Foods like berries, leafy greens, turmeric and blackcurrants can calm inflammation from the inside out.
Blackcurrant performance can calm the skin. It is a one ingredient superfood!
Less is more when it comes to external skincare.
Keep your skincare routine simple. Avoid harsh products and return to gentle, natural care.
Cold compresses are great if your skin feels hot. Cold chamomile tea bag or cucumber slices compresses can do wonders for soothing heat and redness.
Use essential oils diluted and mindfully. The oils I love the most include German chamomile, helichrysum or immortelle, lavender, rose and or geranium. Lavender water is also very soothing to the skin.
When breathing in these beautiful essential oils they are affecting your psychology as much as they are supporting your nervous system, your physical body and skin.
Rosacea rescue serum 5mls of jojoba oil or calendula and 1 drop each of chamomile, helichrysum or immortelle and lavender.
Any skin condition can also be a gut issue and linked to hormonal imbalances and stress.
Nourish your microbiome with probiotics, omega-3s fatty acid and vitamin c rich foods.
Frankincense is your coat of armour and lavender like a mother hug to help manage the emotional stress
Hydrate well. Water is important and you can add blackcurrant powder to your water & include herbal teas like chamomile.
When natural remedies are not enough seeking help from a professional such as a GP or dermatologist.
Healing starts when you start addressing the root cause.
It doesn’t define you it could be potentially your bodies way of asking for calm.
Nourish from within with natures gift and don’t be ashamed to seek medical support.
Less heat, more heart and more lavender in my humble opinion.
You are beautiful inside and out and don’t ever forget it.

Quotes:
My love for the garden started at my grandparents house.
Eating a whole organic meal from the garden is true wealth, true richness.
We shared the same joy for love of nature.
I feel blessed to have the opportunity to grow food at home.
No matter where you are you can grow something at home. Herbs is a great place to start.
To me convenience is going to your backyard and picking a lemon from a tree.
When you grow your own food there is so much you are receiving from giving.
Grow what you grow really well and if a crop doesn’t take off that season let it go. Do the best you can and let go of the rest.
I am going to focus on a crop that is thriving and be grateful for that.
It is not something I can teach, it is something they need to experience. They earn that respect from working on the land.
Conscious connection that an animal was a living thing, and it has given up its life for us to be nourished and nurtured.
If we give thanks to our food, we can digest it better. We are designed to give thanks and to live in gratitude. The more we give and more we receive.
Connection to one another and presence I believe will heal. We are looking to outsource and it is all within. We need to reconnect with ourselves and nature.
No amount of judgement would sway me away into doing what I knew was best for my children.
Everyone does the best they can with what they know. Education is a huge part of it.
Everything I know is something I have been taught myself. Someone has taken the time to share that with me. It is my right to share that knowledge with people to bridge that gap from ancient wisdom to the modern day world. It is my calling to share.
Capri’s tallow skincare line was born from love, curiosity, and a desire to create something honest and healing.
Watching my kids turn their passions into purpose reminds me that leading by example is the greatest gift we can give.
Essentials oil and smell personally takes me deep. I feel grounded, connected and expanded. For me essentials oils are our medicine.
We navigate by having better alternatives.
Go back to basics. Go back to the pillars of health which is mostly all free.
We do have the power. As women we have the power as being our families gatekeepers.
We do have a choice.
You can start from where you are at. Everyone is on a different path of their journeys.
Change one thing at a time.
We have an inner knowing, listen to that.

We can’t change the outside world, but we can change the micro world of our day to day.
Create joy in small ways.
Gratitude, kindness and conscious self care practises can rewire the brain.
When life feels heavy, pause and ask yourself what can I control right now?
When we release what isn’t ours to carry, we step into a far greater sense of peace.
You are way more powerful than you realise.
Choose love over fear.

In Part two of this two-part episode of Awakening the Self, Kim and Pete Evans continue their conversation into deeper philosophical and spiritual territory.
They explore the nature of truth, personal belief systems and the evolution that comes through both joy and challenge. Pete shares his evolving perspective on life and death, his connection to nature, and how he finds presence in uncertainty.
The discussion expands into the spiritual and philosophical aspects of Bitcoin. Its parallels with nature’s uncorruptible design and its potential to reshape how we relate to money and integrity. The episode closes with a reflection on living in the present, trusting that everything unfolds in perfect timing and Pete’s simple yet profound invitation: “Be you.”
About Pete:
Starting work in his first commercial kitchen at just 13, Pete Evans’ passion for food quickly evolved into a lifelong career. By 17, he was a full-time chef, and by 19, a restaurateur — opening numerous award-winning restaurants across Australia and cooking in some of the finest establishments around the world.
Pete’s career spans professional kitchens, television, film, publishing, and wellness innovation. He continues to consult on restaurant and wellness projects globally, developing menus and concepts that celebrate nutrition, sustainability, and flavour.
Pete has appeared in numerous television and film projects throughout his career. His acclaimed documentary The Magic Pill — exploring the powerful connection between food and health — continues to stream globally. He followed this with The Magic Plant, a documentary examining humanity’s evolving relationship with the cannabis plant, and the TV series AWAKEN, which delves into ancient and modern healing modalities for body, mind, spirit, and planet.
For over a decade, Pete co-hosted and judged Australia’s highest-rating television show, My Kitchen Rules (11 seasons). He also created and produced two seasons of The Paleo Way — a 16-episode series featuring global health experts and delicious anti-inflammatory recipes — and hosted PBS’s award-winning Moveable Feast, exploring the world’s best chefs, local produce, and sustainable food stories.
As one of Australia’s most published contemporary chefs, Pete has written around 25 cookbooks and lifestyle titles, many of which have become national bestsellers. A certified health coach through New York’s Institute of Integrative Nutrition, Pete is passionate about empowering people to take charge of their wellbeing through food and lifestyle choices.
His Paleo Way 10-Week Program has supported over 100,000 participants globally, complemented by a growing range of wellness-focused products for both people and pets — from cookware and supplements to ready-made meals and natural pet food.
Pete is deeply connected to nature and family. An avid surfer and ocean lover, he lives by the philosophy that food is medicine and that conscious living can transform every aspect of our health — physical, mental, and emotional.
As a sought-after keynote speaker on nutrition, wellness, and sustainable living, Pete continues to inspire audiences around the world to eat well, live mindfully, and thrive naturally.

Quotes:
For me I do not deal with absolutes or truths.
Be flexible and open minded for that change in the future even though you may firmly believe in something right now.
If we want change, it is a choice!
It is fascinating how one person’s death creates more awareness and noise rather than other people’s death. People are dying all the time.
An invitation to ask the question what death is and what is my belief around death for myself, loved ones and others.
I look at death from a different lens from what I once did. It is a beautiful space to hold, experience and hold energy in all aspects.
Bitcoin is just mathematics. It is code, uncorruptible and ingeniously designed.
I don’t like to deal with absolutes. I believe anything is possible based on your perceptions.
Bitcoin seems to have manifested at a particular point in human history as an uncorruptible, at this particular point of time, solution to the financial energetic system that currently exists. I think that is worth exploring.
We have the ability to live outside of a corrupted food system, if we choose to, to the best of our ability.
We all have a choice.
It has helped me over the last 5 years express who I am, creatively and it has been a gift in that respect and I have learnt a lot along the way.
Hope looks to the future. It is projecting something that we may not have. What we have is now.
We do not know how things will play out in the future for ourselves or collectively.
My analogy for life is why do we want to know how things end. Stay in that mystery.
Life is the most wonderful adventure. We get to choose how we create it.
I trust that everything is going to be perfect in whatever way it manifests for me.
Simply an invitation to “BE YOU”.
An invitation is allowing that person to have agency or power to accept that invitation with a yes, no or maybe.
An invitation gives me or the person the power to make the choice.
When accept responsibility for our choices and actions then there is no one to blame or we cannot play the victim to the choices that we make.
If not making a choice is making a choice.

Quotes:
Who am I? A question so simple, yet so profound, it has the power to change the entire way you see yourself and your life.
You are not your labels or roles. You are the being who experiences them.
When the labels fall away, who would I still be?
Use your core values as your compass. Values are not what I do, but what I stand for.
When you ask, Who am I? Beneath the noise, a sense of truth and authenticity emerges and it can be something as simple as: I am love, I am enough, I am here.
If you keep going past the surface layers, you begin to discover: I am resilient, I am light, I am possibility, I am becoming.
There is the power of stillness. Stop searching and sit in the stillness.
I am not my thoughts. You are not your roles. I am awareness itself.
The question ‘Who am I?’ isn’t meant to be answered once. It is a living, evolving inquiry.
At the core, you will find a thread of essence. The part of you that is timeless, whole and true.
Each morning, body boost, place your hand on your heart and ask gently, “Who am I today”?
Let the question be the compass to guide you back to home to yourself.
Beyond the roles, beyond the expectations, beyond the noise. You are whole, you are love, and you are far greater than you have ever been told.
You get to choose who you are every single day.

Quotes:
Like everyone else on the planet I am going through a journey of getting to know who I am.
We are everything and one at the same time.
The further I go the more I love my quirkiness and uniqueness.
Our unique identity is our superpower.
Television was a great opportunity for me to grow and learn more about myself.
One of my strengths is being open to it all.
What you are looking for is what you are.
Am I searching for something out there or am I searching for myself.
Who am I? Do I need to seek? Or can I accept myself for everything that I am, that I always have been and always will be with unconditional love, trust and acceptance.
Surrender to the fact that I am me and stop trying to be like others.
All of us are mirrors for everyone else.
Pain isn’t punishment. It is a message asking you to listen more deeply.
Illnesses showing up, is our bodies way of saying your body is out of harmony. Slow down. This is your invitation to explore it! What have I done to upset the flow.
Don’t try and turn our children into young versions of ourselves.
Let them experience their uniqueness in this world. Get out of the way and just facilitate the basics of the responsibility of being a parent.
Let them create their own belief systems.
We inherit patterns and beliefs, but awakening begins when we question what we have been given.
I observe these things with a lens of deep trust, deep acceptance and deep surrender.
I do not want to be right to make someone wrong.
Covid was an invitation to ask who I am? What am I am willing to experience in this co created reality.
Intuition told me to speak up during this time without knowing the why. It was telling me that I am going to be a voice in this space.
When we go against our intuition is when are in disharmony with ourselves.
When we accept both the light and the shadow within us, we return to wholeness.
We always go back to the question Who am I? What are my beliefs and where did I get this belief from?
I am grateful for everything. What we focus on we attract more of. Where focus goes more energy flows.
Everything is a choice. What do you want to focus on in your life?
Our true purpose in this world is to discover who we are and express ourselves through the many tools, gifts that we either have, or we can remember or that we will learn in the future.
Our ultimate superpower is the ability to be able to express ourselves creatively and to grow just like nature does.
Be ourselves, unapologetically, is our masterpiece. By being yourself it is a mirror for others to do the same.

Quotes:
It is not selfish to take care of yourself. Its survival, its sacred, its important and it is essential.
It is the foundation for living well, for thriving and for giving your best to the world.
Studies show us that long term stress can increase our risk of heart disease, depression, anxiety, weight gain and not feeling good about ourselves.
Stress related illnesses can cost billions of dollars to the health care industries and lost productivity.
Create a life that honours your needs physically, emotionally, mentally, intellectually and spiritually.
Ask yourself. What restores me? What nourishes me? What makes me feel whole? Make time without guilt to do more of these things.
It is simple and consistently choosing yourself in small ways, moment by moment, breathe by breath, day by day.
Studies show that 20 mins of outdoor activity can lower cortisol levels.
Positive self talk can help you reduce anxiety.
You can’t pour from an empty cup.
When you are thriving, mentally clear, emotionally balanced, and physically energised, everyone around you benefits.
I invite you to pause and ask what is one way I can make myself a priority today.
When you choose you, you don’t just change your life, the ripple in doing so reaches out and creates an energy out into the world which is the greatest gift of all.
Self care is not selfish it is essential.

In this inspiring conversation, Kim sits down with Lucy Devenish to explore her journey from growing up on a sheep and cattle property in rural Australia to creating a life centred on personal growth, community, and connection with nature. Lucy shares how her path led her to become a marriage celebrant, retreat facilitator, and the creator of a unique geodesic dome Airbnb near Toowoomba.
Together, Kim and Lucy dive into themes of resilience, self love, and the power of reconnecting with natural rhythms. Lucy opens up about her passion for supporting women through personal growth retreats, including her upcoming Spirit of Santo Retreat in Vanuatu (November 13–20, 2025) and how she weaves practices like crystal pendulum work, nature therapy, and authentic connection into her offerings.
This episode is rich with wisdom on embracing change, finding meaning in simple practices, and honouring both our personal journeys and the cycles of life. Whether you are seeking inspiration, curious about alternative healing, or considering a retreat experience, Lucy’s story offers insight and encouragement.
About Lucy
From three decades raising twins on a remote cattle station —120 kilometres from the nearest town, through crippling droughts, devastating floods, and everything in between —to facing her own health challenges and an inner unrest, a sense that something was missing, Lucy Devenish has come out the other side with a passion for guiding women through healing, retreats, and the art of self-love. She brings warmth and wisdom to remind us all that caring for ourselves isn’t selfish… it’s sacred.
WHAT I DO THESE DAYS….
Marriage Celebrant; Bespoke wedding ceremonies honouring each specific love story.
Holistic Healing; Therapies embracing energy and spirituality. Over years of study, practice, and a thirst for learning every modality I could, I wove those teachings together and created my own signature practice -The Dance of the Crystal Pendulum.”
Luxury Glamping Dome; Log fires, starlit nights and peaceful vibes. A sanctuary shaped by sacred geometry and grounded in the healing frequencies of the earth.
Spirit of Santo Retreat–November 13th–20th, 2025.
The Dance of the Crystal Pendulum: is a profound and unique experience that weaves together spirituality, ceremonial elements and healing techniques from a diverse range of holistic modalities. The crystal pendulum becomes a conduit, translating the language of energy and intuition… where each movement and swing of the pendulum reveals insights and facilitates a deeply personal connection with your higher consciousness. This mesmerising approach is a commitment to self-care and self-exploration. It is an investment in your own well-being, allowing you to embrace the dance as a beautiful and sacred journey toward healing and growth. Especially beneficial for those uncertain about their needs, the dance allows intuitive guidance to unfold, providing exactly what is required.
Her definition of Self Love is: It really has to come from within… make peace with where you are, and have faith that everything is as it should be… my granddaughter who puts on all her tu tu’s, hats, glasses, necklaces….and is unashamedly unique… she just loves herself…. It’s simple.
Her favourite quote is from: Is a Poem from Desiderata
Go placidly amid the noise and the haste and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.
Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.By Max Ehrmann

Quotes:
I am country girl at heart. Being on the land is in my roots.
I am a strong believer in kinesiology. It can help with the chit chat in your mind.
You learn something from everything you do. There is no right or wrong course.
If I hadn’t been searching for those answers, I wouldn’t have got to where I am today.
Come back to the universal truths which brings me back to nature.
The land can be harsh. You learn the highs and lows in life. You take the good and the bad. There are always cycles and flows.
You have moments that you have to forgive yourself for what you didn’t know.
Grandchildren are teaching us all the time. Natural instincts and simplicity.
There is a disconnection from nature. Look around and become aware. Watch the sun, look at a tree, listen to the birds, touch the grass.
Everything has happened organically. The things I learn, the things I teach and the places we go.
The dome isn’t just an Airbnb. It is a space for healing & connection with nature. I wanted to create a space for healers to conduct their work in an authentic space.
I never planned to be a marriage celebrant. A friend pushed me into it and now I find joy in the sacred moment when couples speak their vows.
There is a beautiful simplicity about Vanuatu and it is all full of culture and tradition.
The women’s retreat in Vanuatu isn’t about rigid routines. It is about laughter, cocktails and connection in a safe, healing space.
There is something very powerful about doing something to the side for yourself.
My practice, the Dance of the Crystal Pendulum, helps people connect with higher consciousness. It starts with something as simple as sitting quietly in nature.
You will know when the time is right.
Just start. Find something that you can connect too,
Self love is being gentle, kind and forgiving yourself. Having faith that you are where you are meant to be.

Quotes:
When you support small business, in the wellness space you are saying it is important. And you are letting the owners know they are important.
Globally, small and medium business are considered the backbone of the economy, driving more than 90% of businesses worldwide and around 70% of employment.
When you choose a small wellness brand, you are not just making a purchase, you are making a statement about what you value.
Small businesses aren’t faceless corporations. They are real humans pouring heart, souls, love and creativity into something they believe will truly make a difference.
Shopping consciously boosts community wellbeing. It strengthens social ties, circulates money locally, and builds a ripple effect of trust, belonging and pride.
Behind every small business is a person who does a little happy dance with every purchase. Your support keeps their dream alive.
When you buy local wellness products, you are supporting families, communities, and even the nation’s economy.
Every dollar you spend is a vote and choosing small business you are investing in dreams, wellbeing and a better future for all of us.
As author Anna Lappé reminds us: “Every time you spend money, you’re casting a vote for the kind of world you want”.

In Part 2 of this conversation, Kim and Nette explore the evolution of Magic Earth Mama . From Nette’s first formulations to building a business with over 300 natural products. They discuss safe skincare ingredients, lifestyle changes that transformed Nette’s health, and her unique approach to self-care through food, herbs, and rituals.
Nette also shares her philosophy on self love as a daily practice of intentional living and respect for both ourselves and the environment. This episode will leave you with practical tools for wellness and inspiration to choose natural, holistic paths in your own life.
About Janette
A dedication to a natural and organic lifestyle came from a desire to radically improve my health after a childhood and adolescence of debilitating conditions. Finding and utilizing the holistic philosophy absolutely re-established my health in mind, body and spirit.
Studies into complimentary therapies and alternative health techniques has been an ongoing process for the last 20 or more years. After suffering my first major reaction to general medication at the age of six, severe dermatitis episodes from the age of 15, and chronic migraines that eventuated into seizures by the time I was 18, I could see this pattern emerging where there was no ‘one reason’ why my health was failing, but a conglomeration of choices that were shaping my life. Specialists told me I was going to live a life of blood tests and medication, but I decided to refuse to do that.
I chose instead to educate myself, find the best possible life I could and improve my health bit by bit. This included studying health and nutrition, herbalism, esoteric and complimentary therapies along with meditation and energy healing. After two decades of study I have embraced the beauty of truthful, high quality, natural products, super nutrition and the stability of a considered mind. I feel I had to achieve this level of health and strength to be able to genuinely say ‘Yes, this works’.
My focus is firmly on what I term ‘real natural’, using the whole botanical wherever possible, and formulating in micro-batches to maintain freshness and potency.
After studying herbalism, aromatherapy, complimentary therapies and Holistic Feng Shui, I found that I was able to weave together healing through various modalities, maintaining ’High Quality Qi’ in the creations I produced. It was only when my health reached a critical point of achievement that I felt I could begin to offer it to others.
I am now in the fortunate position of formulating products for myself, my clientele and other businesses, using nourishing, high quality ingredients that are truly ‘real natural’ and botanic-organic, and which do not use any synthetics at all. This has given me the opportunity to be of service to those who also desire a less toxic and healthier life experience.
Her definition of Self Love is: Self love is intrinsic to self-respect and it’s very much reciprocal with the environment you live in and the people you engage with. I know that self love is giving me the friendships that I have always wanted. I know that my self love is giving me the place that I love to dwell in and my self love is giving me the environment that I hoped to pass on to my children. There is a knowledge in self love that is going to make our lives richer. Self love is self respect to want something good for yourself and by doing so you become able to give to others.
Her favourite quote is: We are all responsible for our future.

Quotes:
I went from a feng shui consultant, aromatherapy to creating 333 skincare and perfume products.
I want to teach ‘deep green formulation’, botanical natural so people can see that natural skincare is both possible and powerful.
I have been on a journey educating myself about the new naturals that are coming through. I am inspired to see large brand manufacturers are looking at safer ingredients.
I have a responsibility as a maker, creator and manufacturer.
SLS, parabens, and synthetic fragrances don’t belong on our skin. Nature provides safer alternatives.
My product and industry knowledge gives me a different perspective on what people think is natural.
If you can’t read the ingredients, then you have no idea on what you are putting on your body.
When we slow down enough to watch the sunrise and sunset, we reset our biological cycles. There is a repositioning of your spirit centre.
I am a pattern recognition person.
My severe injuries forced me to reimagine my lifestyle and health practices.
You many need to do something dramatic.
The protocol I undertook cleaned up my system so dramatically and completely transformed my health.
I proved to myself that I can get through anything with all the practices that I had woven into my life.
Herbalism, whole foods, filtered water, and mineral rich salts are the foundations of vibrant health.
Supplements are useful to fix a deficiency but be mindful and allow your body to reassess as to what it needs after a month or so.
I’m responsible for my future. I can’t outsource it to anyone
Wherever you see yourself, try to future think yourself into that position and then look back at you. Give yourself some real good advice and take it.

Quotes:
Labels tell a story! If only we take the time to read them.
Most of us are unknowingly layering our bodies with toxins that accumulate and build up over time.
What we eat and what we put on our skin directly influences our health, hormones, energy, and even our mood.
Clever marketing often disguises harmful ingredients under ‘natural’ claims or pretty packaging.
If you can’t pronounce it, your body probably can’t process it.
When you know what to avoid, you get to discover incredible alternatives.
Real food doesn’t have a label.
Each small choice reduces your toxic load and strengthens your body’s resilience.
Reading labels is an act of self care and self love.
I choose what goes into and onto my body.
Choose things that are close to nature.
Every swap you make is a vote for your health, for your worth and for a cleaner planet.
The choices you make on a daily basis truly do matter.

Quotes:
My struggles with dermatitis and pregnancy challenges pushed me to create products I could actually trust on my own body.
I don’t create a product unless I have tested it on myself and lived with it first.
Cures are not magic bullets they are all part of processes and protocols.
I always tuned in to what was effective rather than what was on trend.
Failures in formulation are not mistakes. They were lessons that guide me to a better solution.
Pregnancy taught me to prioritise my health and trust in nature’s support systems.
You will always learn from people as long as you are willing to listen to what they say, research and take the time to learn.
I always felt a big connection to where I was living and being outside.
Herbs like holy basil, yarrow (balancing hormones for women) and helichrysum (wound healer) are more than remedies. They are teachers.
Traditional knowledge play a role in our intuitive understanding of herbs.
The information has always been there, it is whether people are receptive.
Plants protect themselves as they can’t move away from a threat. They have abilities to keep animals and people away from them.
Hands on healing is so beautiful for mother to baby/child.
Parents should cultivate their own confidence and not hand over all authority to the medical system.
I encourage parents to have the confidence to take responsibility for their own children and to observe.
A mother knows their child more than anyone else. And they should be given more respect as to what they are doing and knowing for their child’s health.
Intuition and observation are powerful tools in parenting and healthcare.
When I released myself to be myself more that is when empowerment kicked in.
Empowerment doesn’t just happen. You come to it over many experiences over several seasons and then you can look back and see how you handle things differently.
Meditate and try and future think yourself into the person you would like to be in 3 to 5 years. It is very powerful.

Parenting tweens and teens isn’t just their growth journey, but ours as well.
The natural pulling away is a biological and psychological necessity. It is how they form their own identity.
Parenting isn’t about controlling them. It is about growing alongside them.
When we do the inner work and show up authentically, with love and honesty, we create a space where they can thrive.
Our children are some of our greatest teachers, reflecting back our patterns, values, and even our wounds.
They invite us to practice patience, compassion, and self love.
This is not a battle to win, but a relationship to nurture.
Parenting isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence, love, and the willingness to grow together.

In this insightful episode, Kim speaks with parenting educator Michelle Mitchell who shares her professional journey and expertise in working with tweens and teens, discussing the challenges and joys of parenting during the teenage years. The conversation covers various aspects of parenting, including the importance of balancing independence with support, managing technology use, addressing mental health concerns, and navigating family dynamics. Michelle emphasises the need for parents to educate themselves about their children’s experiences, maintain authentic relationships, while providing guidance and support through the complex teenage years. Packed with stories, wisdom and practical tools, this conversation will leave you encouraged and equipped to parent with self love.
About Michelle
Michelle Mitchell is an author and speaker, sought after for her compassionate and grounded advice for parenting tweens and teens. She began as a classroom teacher but soon found a special interest in wellbeing. In 2000 she left teaching to establish a health promotion charity and psychology clinic which delivered life skills programs and psychological services to thousands of young people and their families each year. Today she uses her experience to write and speak in schools, community events and through media. The core of her work is helping parents be the trusted, leadership presence that their growing kids need.
Her definition of Self Love is: At its heart, Michelle sees self love as a parent showing up happy and authentic, so our kids learn they have permission to do the same. Happiness is important, relationships are give and take and chasing your dreams is something to be proud of.
Her favourite quote : If a mum says “You are my 7minutes” and the child says “What 7 minutes” and mum replies “After death the human brain lives for 7 minutes to replay its best memories”. “You are my 7 minutes”

Quotes:
I know that one caring trusted adult in a kid’s life can literally change the trajectory of a child’s life.
Parenting has never been more challenging.
There is a grief of letting go in the growing up years that we don’t talk about enough.
Parenting is u turn that comes right on back to you.
Parenting flows through three stages: dependence, independence, and interdependence.
There is flip of being so needed and then receiving messages that you are not needed in the same way.
I talk to parents about owning that needy energy.
Their ability to differentiate from us as human being is so important.
We want the stretch to be manageable, a safe pull away. Our kids need to make mistakes.
I am expecting you to act like a teenager, but you need to expect me to act like a parent!
Parents chill out! Your kids are ok!
AI and social media are shaping a generation. We can’t ignore it, but we can guide our kids through it with boundaries.
We need to be on the front foot in our homes. Keep devices out of bedrooms, use parental controls, and have open conversations about tech usage with children.
The world is not a safe place, and we need to educate our kids.
Parents don’t need to have all the answers. They need to be the safe place where kids feel seen and significant.
We need to know who our anchor people are. Strengthen those support layers so no one carries the load alone.
When our kids are not communicating. We think talking is the answer when connection is the answer. There is a big difference.
What they are needing to know is am I safe, do I belong, and do I matter? They are the things we need to try and answer as a community.
Never hesitate to ask for professional support if things are spiralling.
If we want to get serious about kid’s mental health, we need to see life through their lens and step into their shoes.
Challenging teenage years aren’t lost years. They are full of opportunities for growth, humour, and deeper connection.
Limit questions to teenagers to no more than two at a time to avoid appearing needy.
It is natural for partners to have different ideas due to their diverse upbringings and backgrounds, but the common goal should be the child’s wellbeing.
Using a timer to allow each partner to express their views without interruption.
Test and measure ideas when there’s no mutual agreement.
Teenagers don’t expect perfection. Perfection is intimidating to them. Get a bit messy with them. Be authentic.
Assess whether school issues are “high stake” or “low stake” before determining your response approach.
Don’t take teenage disrespect personally. It is usually a reflection of their struggle, not your failure as a parent.
Go with the flow!
We need to be sharp with them with they are disrespectful. For Example “Love you but don’t love the way you are speaking to me”.
To the single parent, the research shows it only takes one caring adult to get a child through.
Make sure your kids know how valued and loved they are and stay safe!

Quotes:d
Life is happening is the subtle, quiet nudges, gentle energy and soft whispers.
Subtle energy is everywhere.
Even five minutes of silence is enough to recalibrate.
When we get quiet our nervous system settles and in that softer state, we hear more.
Use your senses as guides.
Use the power of aromatherapy to help allow your body to shift or still.
Tune into your body’s language, it is always speaking to you.
The body never lies.
Create rituals that honour the energy flow.
Rituals train you to move more gently, more consciously and more aligned with your inner world.
Trust the whispers.
Self love means trusting your intuition.
Subtle energy is pure love.
You already hold the answers that you need.

MUSIC INTRO & OUTRO
Many thanks to Wes and Charlotte Carr – https://wesleydeanmusic.com/
In this deeply reflective conversation, Blair and Kim explore what it means to restore our relationship with the earth in a world increasingly defined by disconnection. Together, they trace humanity’s historical separation from nature. Rooted in the divide between science and magic and amplified through modernisation, industrialisation, and technological progress.
Blair shares insights from his work in sustainable farming and his personal journey toward attunement, natural rhythms, and cosmological time. From the power of walking barefoot on the earth to honouring solstices, equinoxes, and moon cycles, he reminds us of the simple, accessible ways we can return to harmony with nature and ourselves.
The conversation weaves through themes of human behaviour, societal evolution, and the paradox of progress, highlighting how rules, structures, and even climate narratives can both guide and constrain us. Together, Blair and Kim discuss the importance of self love, intuition, and collective awakening as tools for navigating global challenges and personal growth.
You will leave this episode with a renewed sense of hope, grounded practices for attunement, and an invitation to honour the wonder within and the natural cycles around us.
About Blair:
Soil-wise, soul-deep systems thinker — part earth whisperer, part community weaver, part cosmic cartographer.
Rooted in the regenerative agriculture movement, Blair is not just growing food; he is cultivating connection — between land, people, water, and purpose. Work is both grounded and galactic: in one breath mapping crop rotations, in the next, you’re studying planetary dharma a fusion of Indo-Tibetan and Western pyscho spiritual tech — seeing Earth as a living university and humanity as students learning to live in sacred reciprocity.
Blair’s mind moves like a keyline plough: precise, pattern-aware, and always in service to flow — be it water, energy, or story. Whether planning planting cycles or guiding audiences through sacred food visualisations, he blends practical know-how with mythic vision.
For Blair soil and soul are not separate. Healing the land is planetary work, and planetary work is spiritual work. Speaking the language of biodiversity, sacred cycles, and systems change — not as abstract ideals, but as a lived ethic, a path of service, and a call to awakening.
In short a land steward with a poet’s touch and a cosmic compass, reminding us that regeneration isn’t just a method — it’s a movement, a dharma, and a destiny.
His definition of Self Love is: Blair’s definition is through a Buddhists lens.
Love yourself as you tend to a flame in the wind with care, with shelter, with quiet hands.
See this body, this mind, not as mine, but as a rare and precious vessel carried through countless lifetimes to arrive here now.
Pour compassion into your heart. Not to fill it with self but to let its waters overflow. Washing the edges between you and the world until there is only thing, one breathe and one heart beating.
This is self love to know your own worth because you recognise the worth of all beings to tend to your own awakening because the world is waiting for your light.
His favourite quote is: The next Buddha may be a Sangha -Thich Nhat Nanh
The next enlightenment will come through as a collective. That is us doing it together!

Quotes:
My quest – what am I doing here? Who am I? What is my purpose here on earth?
I have found purpose and passion in reconnecting people back to the food that they eat, the people that produce their food and in essence themselves.
Mother Nature had always been my place of refuge. I always escaped to nature. I felt safe, held and supported.
Modernisaton has created a story of separation between humans and nature, leading to an identity crisis.
We are divine creatures and here to do a lot more! We are incredible technology on our own.
The separation of science and magic 2000 years marking the beginning of commodifying everything from food to human relationships.
Attunement is about tuning into the energetic system of another person. It is something children do naturally through wonder and awe.
Touch is an amazing congruent for energetic exchange.
These moments of connection are always available. Put down the phone, touch a tree, walk barefoot.
Human made time structures have pulled us out of harmony. By honouring solstices, equinoxes & moon cycles we can return to natural rhythms.
We have an invitation to wake up and watch the sun come up and what her go down.
Honour the moments that are outside the captured time frames.
Faith and hope are essential tools for navigating struggle. Pain is inevitable but it is also part of growth.
Every time there was a challenge I can look back and say that was part of my growth and evolution.
We are here for a human experience and that encompasses all of it.
We don’t have to do it alone we have each other! I know I can reach out to fellow humans when I feel I need help.
Food from the Farmers market is filled with integrity. They carry that vital life force.
The Farmer’s Footprint is an expression of what is possible.
Every time we eat, we can make a decision to support our farmers.
We want food that has been nurtured by healthy soil, by beautiful humans, that give us the life force and the minerals we richly deserve to live an abundant life.
We want health, abundance, and a future for our children. We all want the same thing.
We are individuals but we are part of a broader collective.
I am mindful and conscious of where my attention goes.
Here is an invitation to tap into your intuition.
Be curious about tuning into that part of ourselves which we have been separated from. It is our key advisors in our decision making.
Our awakening is not an individual journey.

Quotes:
Grief is simply love that has nowhere to go.
Who am I becoming of this?
If time and money was no problem, what would I be doing and where would I be?
Life is seasonal.
Your heart is your compass.
Journaling Exercise:
Find a quiet space, take a few deep breaths, write freely and just let your heart speak.
What did I hope this journey would give me?
What have I learned, gained, or become stronger in along the way?
Without this role, title, or achievement – who am I at my core?
Who am I becoming because of this experience?
When do I feel most alive, most joyful, most myself?
If no one had expectations of me, what would I choose?
What in my life feels heavy and draining?
What feels light, expansive, and energising?
If my heart could whisper just one truth about what it really wants — what would it say?

Wonderful conversation. Big aha around making my self love time sacred. I do different acts of selflove but I haven't made it sacred. If it is interrupted I allow it. Thankyou Kim and Dr Z, a stunning interview.
