We take the timeline all the way back to early 2020 where Covid was just starting to simmer into international existence and borders were getting shut down faster than Canadian trucker bank accounts. Rory, being the seasoned veteran in Indonesian exploration, hit the eject button and opted out of Australian lockdown laws just as the last planes were leaving the once great southern lands tarmac. Fast forward to one of the swells of the Indo winter and Rory’s dream escape turned to a hip pulverising nightmare as he lay quivering quietly with a hole the size of a coral head punctured in the side of his hip. In this years final edition of Comp Talk Coops n Luke wrap up the final contest of the 2023 IBC World Tour, the Fronton Pro, which is held in the highest regard amongst the Boog community as the comp of the year! This years edition didn’t disappoint when it came to controversy’s as before the comp had even kicked off three competitors were disqualified without even pulling on a rashie. We had sparks and emotions flying everywhere as Tanner McDaniel had to watch on as his only threat to his maiden World Title, Pierre Louis Costes, went deep into the comp and almost snatched it from the Americans grasp. Throw in some seriously impressive Fronton surfing from up and comer Robin Legros, and you really do have an exciting story line to sink your teeth into listeners. Sit back and enjoy Coops n Luke wrap up this years tour, it’s been one hell of a ride 🤙
This episode on Luke’s Lounge we really dive into the sacred art of Drop Knee and who better to yarn to about it than Cronulla local, Aaron Glassop.With plenty of years behind him throwing the knee up at every slab the Shire has to offer up, Aaron has achieved so much in Jack Stance. From DK’ing through a Shark Island Challenge, to tackling Cape Solander on the knee to jumping off 50ft cliff jumps around the area, Aaron has lived an incredibly colourful life.It was great to catch up over past memories, chew the fat and discuss his new found life with his family up on the North Coast of NSW.
