Reverse
Virginia finishes the regular season with a second place ACC finish. The Hoos compiled a record of 27-4, 15-3 in the ACC, culminating a huge turnaround from the 2024-2025 season. The guys breakdown the past week's games and welcome in special guest Fred Umland to discuss what's coming up for the Hoos as well as our All-ACC teams and individual player accolades. The conversation shifts towards the upcoming ACC Tournament and what's at stake for the Hoos if they win the whole thing or if they exit early. To wrap up, Fred gives his breakdown of the Bubble, his favorites for this year's NCAA Tournament, and some likely Cinderella stories.
Coming off a rough loss to Duke, Khari and Sean breakdown what went wrong in the game for the Hoos, what allowed Duke to be so successful, and where UVA turns to next to get back on track. The guys discuss the importance of UVA's final two regular season games as they gear up for the ACC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament. Our duo trades thoughts around UVA's ceiling now that we've seen them against top tier competition and share updated outlooks for Virginia's outcome in the NCAA Tournament.
The Hoos are coming off a huge win against Miami in JPJ to push their current winning streak to 8 games. The longest win streak they've had since the 2023-2024 college basketball season. The guys jump on the pod to break down Virginia's recent success and what it could mean for this season's outlook. They make sure to spend some time highlighting and appreciating the court dedication to Tony Bennett and his gesture to make sure all members (staff, players, admins, etc) would have their names also included on the court. Diving deeper into the conversation, Khari and Sean discuss best case and worst case for seeding having seen UVA show up in the NCAA selection committee's mid-season reveal as the final 4 seed. To close out, the guys look forward to this week's matchups against NC State at JPJ and a road trip to Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham against Duke which will likely be the #1 or #2 team in the country coming off their big win over Michigan. Khari gets the insights from Cuts about his background, his time at UVA, and what led to his deep analysis of basketball. Cuts gives a full rundown on his thought process and the operations that go into creating an edition of Cuts from The Corner alongside what he hopes readers take away from his work. They continue the conversation discussing his thoughts on the current UVA team and turning time back to discuss his favorite players, favorite games, and favorite UVA in-depth analysis. The guys are back to discuss UVA being 17-3 and towards the top of the ACC and back to being nationally ranked. UVA faced a tough loss at home against UNC but bounced back with a huge double overtime win against Notre Dame in South Bend. Per usual the guys took a bit of a longer break than expected but they're back ready to dive into this year's team! Coming off a major road victory against Texas, Khari and Sean discuss the huge win and what they've liked so far about the team 8 games in. They also chat through some areas of improvement and what they would like to continue to see going forward from this year's edition of the Cavaliers. UVA Football also sneaks in a mention as they are having a historic season and are on the verge of an ACC Championship and a College Football Playoff berth.
After a long break away, the guys are back to finally discuss all the latest and greatest for the UVA Men's basketball team. Starting with their thoughts on the hiring of Ryan Odom and getting into all the new faces on the team, including some international signings. Khari and Sean each breakdown their thoughts on the new and returning players, what we could expect to see from each guy, as well as potential lineups that we believe Ryan Odom will lean on. The guys are back after a month long break (mainly due to Khari being in India) to discuss the latest for the Hoos. UVA is currently 6-4 with a big game against Memphis coming up in JPJ. UVA is in need of a major win but with the ACC having another down year, the guys discuss what the outlook on UVA's season appears to be thus far. The conversation shifts to discuss who's impressed this season as well as who hasn't lived up to off-season expectations. Khari and Sean close out the pod discussing Ron Sanchez's performance as the head coach at this point and have some fun with UVA's newest jerseys.
