In this episode, we talk about the thriller of a game - that was the final of the PSL8. The perfect way to end another explosive season of the PSL.
The final was played between Multan Sultans and the Lahore Qalandars - with Lahore opting to bat first, again relying on their bowling strength to help them defend the total. There were some handy innings throughout but the final blow was dealt by Shaheen Shah Afridi, accumulating a quick fire 45 at the end to propel his team to a very good fighting total.
Multan were put in to chase. Things were going well for them but they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. At the end, the game went on to the final over with the momentum shifting back and forth between the Sultans and the Qalandars. Multan needed 13 off the last over, where Zaman Khan was given the big responsibility of bowling the final over. And he showed class by defending the total given to him. Sultans tried their level best, but in the end, just couldn't cross the finishing line, falling short by just one run.
π for the Sultans. And π for the Qalandars, who won their 2nd consecutive PSL trophy.

We cover two more exciting games in this episode of the CricBuddies podcast. We first talk about the amazing performance of the Karachi Kings to upset the powerful batting of Multan Sultans - who are usually very strong with chasing. But this time around, they were undone by Karachi and their batting seemed to be in chaos. KK won this match by 66 runs. The second match was the high scoring affair between LQ and PZ. Lahore put up a mammoth total of 241 on the board for PZ to chase. PZ were on par and ahead at many points in the game but just lost too many wickets, courtesy of a 5er by jersey no 10, Shaheen Afridi himself. LQ won the game by 40 runs.
In this episode, we talk about the amazing performance of Islamabad United with the bat as well as the ball which took Quetta Gladiators by surprise as they struggled to keep pace with the roaring Islamabad Sherus. Islamabad put on a mammoth total of 220 which was just too much for Quetta to compete with. Azam Khan showed his classy shots to score 97 runs, also bagging the man of the match title.
We're back to cover more action from the ongoing season of the PSL. In this episode, we talk about two encounters. The first one being Peshawar vs Quetta - one of the most played fixtures in PSL history. Quetta fought hard but it was the Zalmi's which ended up on top in this one. We also talk about the next fixture, which was the Gladiators locking horns with the mighty Qalandars. The aggressive batting & bowling attack of Lahore Qalandars was just too good for the Gladiators and the Qalandars won this one with a breeze.
In this episode, we share our thoughts on the biggest rivalry of the PSL. This time, the Karachi Kings came out on top, securing their first win in the season so far. Lahore Qalandars - while having a better bowling attack - looked to be a bit out of touch. The home ground advantage was definitely with the Kings and played its part as well in helping them crush their rivals to reach their first victory of the season. We will be keeping our eyes on the 2nd game now with Lahore all geared up to take their sweet revenge. Stay tuned for analysis and discussion of more PSL games, and keep on watching and supporting the PSL.

What can be better for true cricket fans than a Pakistan vs India final. It was the clash of the titans with Pakistan coming out as the victors of this contest.
It was a splendid performance by the Shaheen's to post a mammoth total on the board for their Indian counterparts to chase down. From India's side as well, the batters kept going at a very good run rate despite losing some wickets. But it was the Pakistan spin twins which brought back the game in Pakistan's favor with Pakistan winning the game by 128 runs. It was an amazing bunch of performances from the Pakistan side - led by Captain Muhammad Haris.
Well done Pakistan Shaheen's and onwards to new horizons πͺβοΈπ
