I believe a type of dopamine hit that people don't acknowledge is found in conflict and confrontation. I know someone who "buzzes" during highly positive situations, but when they don't have those regularly, they create conflict at work with the same people they had/have positive interactions with, same at home, same at school. Chasing the positive emotional "high" but creating the negative because the rush is the same.
