When I discovered 9aba, I discovered what it looks like to not be someone who lets their environment or their financial status dictate what they do and how far they go in life. With the determination and mindset I have seen in him, I don't doubt one bit he will reach not only career success, but he will grow immensely through his growth mindset. It took a long time for me to find true friends. Most importantly, it took awhile for me to understand what makes a good friend and to try to incorporate that in myself first. I tell you about a friendship I appreciate in my life, my avoidant attachement style, and how we can aspire to be a good friend ourselves.
One of the biggest argument I hear about self belief is what if I believe in myself and fail? The misconception lies on that self belief means « I must succeed », but that’s not what self believe and confidence is for. Let’s real talk about it.
Whether it’s accepting our body, our mistakes, our regrets, or accepting the reality of losing a loved one, not getting that opportunity we want, or getting sick, accepting what we cannot change has to be one of the hardest things in life.
