Gavin talks about the tribute the Stars had for Tyler Seguin before the game and what he means to the team. He notes what he is noticing from the opponents as of late to combat the Stars power play and slowing them down on offense. The Stars only had 15 shots on net in total and they need to go back to the basics.

Our NHL Insider Sean Shapiro joins host Gavin Spittle to talk about a bunch of different things in the NHL. They start with the big trade of the day, Tristan Jarry and Samuel Poulin were traded to the Edmonton Oilers for Stuart Skinner, Brett Kulak and a 2029 second round pick. Then the guys talk about the Stars point streak ending and Glen Gulutzan’s comments in the last three games about the 5 on 5 being outplayed by their opponents. They both think Jason Robertson has played so well that he will be on Team USA in the Olympics. Gavin throws out a hypothetical trade scenario where Dallas would trade for Jaden Schwartz. Sean says it’s time to start trading picks and adding to the team because this core is locked down long term. They wrap by talking about the three players inducted into the US Hockey Hall Of Fame.

Host Gavin Spittle is joined by David Castillo from Stars Stack to discuss possible trade candidates for the Stars to acquire at the trade deadline. Gavin wants to see a fully healthy Stars team before he decides who they should target. David asks “What does Dallas actually need?” He thinks with Tyler Seguin out for the season but a chance with him returning for the playoffs as of now, money is still tight for the Stars. David is keeping the mindset this could be a very quiet deadline for the Stars. The guys remind fans that it will be hard to make big moves this deadline because the Stars are looking to extend Jason Robertson and that is priority number 1. The guys also talk about the success this Stars coaching staff is having this year and then go through possible names for the Stars to trade for.
