John Cruckshank is a comedian, and a licensed electrician who runs his own business, Redfern Electrical. The two paths were intertwined in John's mockumentary YouTube series, also titled Redfern Electrical. Inspired by his authentic experiences of being an electrician with dreams of stand-up, the series blurs the lines between fiction and reality. In this great conversation with Wil, John tells the story of his path to comedy, performing stand-up as a 10-year-old, his love of skateboarding and basketball and much more.  Watch the Redfern Electrical web series: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3k0ckYoXqg See Wil on tour: https://comedy.com.au/tour/wil-anderson/  Support Everyone Relax on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/everyonerelax  Everyone Relax on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/everyone.relax/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Sonia Di Iorio likes to take the unconventional route when it comes to comedy. Her latest standup show, Battute Per Peccatori, is performed entirely in Italian...because why not? It's a hilarious exploration of heritage, identity, and the absurdity of everyday life. From growing up in Traralgon to trying her hand at comedy at 24 years old, Sonia is now one of the best in Melbourne's comedy scene. In this insightful chat, Wil and Sonia talk chronic pain, creativity and doing things differently. The erotic thriller as we know it is dead. It's the fourth and final instalment of our Erotic Thrillers mini series, and Charlie and Guy are joined by Producer Amy to look back on the rise and fall of the genre. We get Amy's modern take on a classic, before plotting a comeback. We needed something interesting to spice up the final test and who else but Usman Khawaja to deliver? The legendary opener is retiring and we hope he makes 8000 runs in his last test outing.  Meanwhile, Wil explains why the Sydney curator is anything but nervous and Charlie makes a retraction about some comments he'd made about the English captain. If video stores peaked in the 90s, they were certainly in a slow decline during the noughties - much like the erotic thriller genre! Welcome to Episode 3 of this saucy mini series, with Charlie and Guy Davis. The 2000s were an interesting time. While the world moved from VHS to DVD, erotic thrillers tried to keep up. But you can't deny the role the internet played, as access to raunchy content was as easy as it had ever been. Appetites just weren't the same. Step behind the velvet curtain once again, as we break down the decade that ended the erotic thriller.   Hear Guy Davis on The Movie Guide podcast: https://www.themovieguidepodcast.com/ See Wil on tour: https://comedy.com.au/tour/wil-anderson/  Support Everyone Relax on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/everyonerelax  Everyone Relax on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/everyone.relax/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
10mm of grass!? What was the curator thinking? England snatch one back in a chaotic game that felt over before it began. Adam Zwar joins Wil and Charlie to mull over how the Australian's got found out, who the best commentators are, and the conspiracy theory that explains why the Aussies secretly wanted a short test. Step inside The Video Store once more, because this week we're going back to the 90s! It was another memorable decade for the erotic thriller...sometimes for all the wrong reasons. This week, Charlie and Guy Davis are joined by Rachel Barrett from The Flippity Flop podcast to talk all things spicy on the silver screen. From Basic Instinct and Sliver to Show Girls and Jade. Break out the saxophone because it's about to get raunchy.  Hear Rachel Barrett on The Flippity Flop podcast: https://pod.link/1741198551 Hear Guy Davis on The Movie Guide podcast: https://www.themovieguidepodcast.com/ See Wil on tour: https://comedy.com.au/tour/wil-anderson/  Support Everyone Relax on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/everyonerelax  Everyone Relax on Insta: https://www.instagram.com/everyone.relax/ See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The Ashes are won but there are stil two tests to playout, and next up is the iconic Boxing Day test. With several key members missing for Austrlia there are some exciting selection choices to be made. But overall we're wondering if we'll even give a shit now? Bazball is dead and buried as Australia goes 3-zip and win the Ashes in record time. The folklore of Travis Head grows, Labuschagne chirps away, Khawaja gets a last minute call-up, and the goat takes us to Spin City. Alex Williams [who played Shane Warne in the biopic] joins Wil and Charlie to stick the proverbial key in the pitch and decide the players who are on top, the commentators who are on point, and the actors who should be considored to play Pat Cummins on the big screen. does Zonfrillo HAVE to say FUCK every 20 seconds? he doesn't do it on Master Chef, & it is so damn annoying I nearly shut it, & as a chef I can say we know the hours and the terms of the job joke has decided to pursue a certain side of the industry that by it's very nature is highly demanding if you want to play in that sandpit go play in it, but Zonfrillo knows there are other choices, & re TV it's not his job to worry about the production and believe you me mate nobody is waiting for you to f**k up, nobody .... you need a new prospective

Absolutely amazing. Two incredibly intelligent people. No joke.... the best interview I've ever listened to. Thank you Will and Jimmy. As for ling form... I'd LOVE Jimmy to do some material like Jim Jefferies.... tell stories. Jimmy pretty much did that in this interview, in places (e.g. Religion). Look forward to seeing you both on tour. Gary Storm... Yep the 'bigger' guys don't feel threatened by you but can also see your worth. Similar experience as an engineer. The more competent guys don't feel threatened by you because they are comfortable in their abilities and can see your worth so treat you as an equal. Unfortunately there aren't many of them. The shit guys outweigh the good ones by a long way.

I listen to a myriad of podcasts always trying to have an open mind and hear what others have to say but at the end of the day what comforts me most are the voices of Australians and though we may agree or disagree we are Australians, we're trying to figure it out in the best way we can

This was life changing for me. Normally I go from one podcast to another, but I had to take time to really digest this. I remember a lecture at uni that described the way that 2% of the population think about issues, upstream thinking - both of you are in this 2%.
