Phwoaarr!!!! The Bounders are back discussing a curious little number from 1976 (or is it 75??) written by British cinema legend David McGillivray called....wait for it.....I'm Not Feeling Myself Tonight. Centred around the obligatory sex-starved male who works in a sex clinic and invents a sex-ray....what on earth could go wrong?? Packed with famous faces, devoid of laughs....it's the perfect fodder for Pete and Fred to masticate themselves silly over.
In a moment neither of them had seen, ahem, coming...Pete and Fred discuss what they believe to be the worst film they have discussed to date. Charmless, unfunny, grotesque, offensive....yet brimmed to the rafters with genuine bona fide showbiz names, What's Up Nurse is a curious new low in the canon of 1970s British Sex Comedies. Just like Jesus dying on the cross for your sins but much worse, Pete and Fred watched this film so you don't have to.
Fred finally gets to meet the leading man from his favourite Carry On film, Larry Dann! Acting legend Larry kindly took the time to discuss his amazing career with Pete and Fred, including his time on the Carry On films, as well as working with other Giants of Comedy. Larry's life story (Oh What A Lovely Memoir!) are about to be published, details below: https://www.devonfirebooks.com/product/larrydann-memoir  Larry Dann's acting career began with a knock on the door, when a seven year old schoolboy was talent scouted by London's Corona Academy and invited to be in a film shooting at Denham Studios. This was the start of a career that saw him perform in hundreds of stage productions all over the world, star in four of the iconic "Carry On" movies and become a household name as Sgt. Alec Peters in ITV's "The Bill". In his highly entertaining autobiography, Larry recalls his 70-year career in showbiz, from dodging school to make movies, joining Joan Littlewood's groundbreaking Theatre Workshop, performing the original production of "Oh, What A Lovely Memoir" in the West End and on Broadway, starring in the cult horror movie "Ghost Story", nicking villains on the streets of Sun Hill and getting the custard pie treatment from Sooty & Sweep. As well as sharing the extraordinary highs and lows that an acting career can bring, this beautifully crafted memoir also tells the story of a young boy growing up in London during the Second World War, with a father fighting for his country and a mother dreaming of stardom. From working with villains in the East End to sleeping with cockroaches in New York, from personal tragedies to happy accidents, Larry has shared many of these adventures with Liz, his wife of 50 years. Featuring a special introduction by fellow legend Brian Murphy and dozens of rare photographs capturing Larry's life and career, "Oh, What A Lovely Memoir" is published by Devonfire Books. The limited edition hardback has now sold out, but the paperbacks are printing now and can be pre-ordered at devonfirebooks.com
What's his name, what's his name? Stud! Pete and Fred take on a favourite film of theirs...The Stud, starring Joan Collins and Oliver Tobias. With a pulsating disco soundtrack, extremely raunchy set pieces and more social commentary than you'd imagine, The Stud is a rollercoaster of a film, with a great cast and lots of themes to unpick. Join the Bounders as they re-evaluate the film that arguably established a new genre: big budget erotic drama. Michael Douglas? I've sh*t em!
For our 10th podcast, the Bounders bravely take on the 1974 opus, Confessions of a Window Cleaner. The film that propelled 'newcomer' Robin Askwith into the spotlight, initiated a whole host of imitations and killed off the Carry On films......or did it?? Tune in to hear our views and some exceptionally pointless trivia
Stammering inadequates Confessions Pete and Fred Karno take on their most challenging movie to date, the breaking and entering sex comedy-thriller The Sex Thief. James Bond, The Beatles, Only Fools, Nescafe....no cultural stone is left unturned. Join the Bounders for their latest ramblings and let them know what you make of it all.
In which Pete and Fred conclude (perhaps) their Barry Evans odyssey … discussing the film he probably didn’t want to make. Liz Fraser, Please Sir, collapsing chairs … this episode has it all.
Fred and Pete are back to discuss the final installment of Stanley Long's Adventures trilogy. What on earth will they make of the pseudo-Sweeney/Minder plot? Were any cats harmed during the filming of this movie? Will Elaine Paige get her kit off? Find out this and much much more in the latest episode of Unmitigated Bounders.
Pete-N-Fred (like Salt-N-Pepa but with extra vinegar) discuss the second installment in the greatest cinematic trilogy of all time, Adventures of a Private Eye, directed by Stanley Long and written by Michael Armstrong. Can the series survive without 70s superstud Barry Evans? Who the eff is Christopher Neil? How did they get such an amazing cast? Join us for our latest episode where all of the above and more will be discussed in nauseating detail.
In Episode 5 of Unmitigated Bounders, infamous muck rakers Confessions Pete and Fred Karno discuss in detail the merits or otherwise of Stanley Long's "response" to the success of the Confessions movies, Adventures of a Taxi Driver. Starring the mysteriously enigmatic Barry Evans, ...Taxi Driver features one of the best casts of the genre. But is it any good? Join us to find out more.
Fred & Pete are back to discuss the notorious 1976 sex comedy with Barry Stokes. So many questions….where are all the men in the village? Why is everyone always in the bath? Is this the film The Wicker Man could have been? Is the spanking real or fake?? Come join us to find out more
The Bounders return to discuss the much maligned 30th and final Carry On film for 14 years…..is it pornographic? Did it kill off the series? Is it really THAT terrible? All will be revealed!
A special and hastily arranged episode providing an overview of/introduction to the Confessions film series starring Robin Askwith, Tony Booth & many more. Currently being shown uncut and in the correct order on Talking Pictures TV
