Rev Jerry reminded us that Jesus chose us first. Jesus wants to be our friend not our task master. He wants to walk along side us in our journey as a friend, laughing in joy, crying in sorry, being in relationship because of love. May we love Him and keep our focus on loving Him and loving those around us.
Rev Jerry Davis brought insight to the familiar story in Luke 24:13-35 of the Walk to Emmaus by a couple of disciples and and unrecognized Jesus. Sometimes the road we are on leads us to different dreams and hope. It’s all about the journey and who we are traveling along side.
Rev Jerry Davis at First United Methodist in Macon on April 23rd, 2023

Like 24:1-49

Scripture reading from Psalm 32 with accompanying scriptures: Genesis 2:15-17; 3:1-7, Roman 5:12-19; Matthew 4:1-11. On the First Sunday in Lent, Rev Sandra used scripture to exposed many sins. God’s law was giving to us to focus on Him and His love for us. In our sin we disrupt the relationship and want to cover our blemishes. Praise the Lord Jesus came and died for us. Lord help us repent and truly turn to You. In our repentance, God is for giving our sin to Jesus to cover us. Through Jesus Christ and our repentance, Jesus repairs the broken relationship with our Lord. This Cardiologist will repair broken, hardened hearts. Fill us with Your Love Lord so we may love others.
Transfiguration Sunday was celebrated with God’s Word from Psalm 2 and Matthew 17:1-9. As Rev Sandra explained and expounded on, praise to God, that He is in control and not ourselves. May we live as a people under His reign and leadership as we become the best version of ourselves to glorify our Lord and Savior.
Rev Sandra taught on 1 Corinthians 3:1-9. With God’s help and understanding, this Sunday’s rich feast was filled with His seasoning and love. There was everything from sweet sips of milk to the strong hearty word to nourish any thirsty soul seeking His guidance. All glory to God for His chosen ones that follow His calling to water and plant and allow His growth to happen. For in His growing (sanctification that He does in each of His children), we are glorify Him and watering and planting His love for others to see.

Rev Sandra Glenn Brown. - Third Sunday After the Epiphany - Isaiah 9:1-4; 1 Corinthians 1:10-18; Matthew 4:12-23; (Reference Isaiah 49:1-7; Luke 14:26
Sunday sermon was enhanced by the words of Jesus as Rev Andy read chapters 5, 6 and 7 of Matthew. It was a blessing to have a past presence with both the Pearsons with us
The Holy Spirit combined several Scripture passages today. We began with Matthew 3:13-17 and the Baptism of Jesus where even John tried to talk Jesus out of it. Matthew recorded that all three, the Father, Son and Holy Spirit showed up for this wonderful moment. Isaiah 42:1-9 foreshadows the ministry of Jesus on earth. Here there is much we can mold our interaction with others in our daily lives. Acts 10:34-43 tells of the appearing of Jesus and the Holy Spirit to those seeking and taking the time to be in His presence. 2 Corinthians 3:17 reminds us of His freedom when we seek and abide in His Presence. Lastly in John 17:21 we are reminded that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one. For it is in our craziness or mess that we can witness to others and allow His message to shine through. When we allow Jesus to add His age old wisdom to our mess we get our Mess + His Age = a glorious MessAge. As we are aware of His presence and we are filled with His Love, we minister and spread Him to others. Just as our salvation is a gift, justice and peace are gifts from Jesus. In order for us to hold on to these gifts, we must accept His plan for our lives as our precious gift.
The First Sunday after Christmas and New Year’s Day Rev Sandra was lead by the Spirit to read Matthew 2:1-12. In their reflections, she discussed ways the world proclaims to make us happy and the endless list. Although New Year’s resolutions can be individually structured for those to thrive, the one important essential star we seek is God. Just as the wise men so long ago followed the star, be intentionally seeking God first daily and waiting on the return of Christ.
3rd Sunday of Advent with scriptures read 1 Timothy 1:5 and Galatians 5:22-23.
Rev Sandra Glenn Brown studied the Gospel Scriptures out of Matthew 24:36-44 to begin our Advent Season and our Year A of our New Church Year. Although we love the special details we enjoy this time of year, help us to keep our focus on God and His Love. As we prepare our hearts for the birth of our Savior, let us keep our hearts open to show His Love to others and see Christ in those we meet. In our daily personal relationship with Jesus, we prepare and keep our focus on Him and His coming again.
Rev Sandra Glenn Brown studied and spoken on Luke 23:33-43 on Christ the King Sunday. Just as the old saying ‘you are what you eat’, what is in your heart will come out in your words. Fill your heart with His words and thoughts so the words of the mouth will be of good taste.
Rev Sandra Glenn Brown read the stories of Jesus’s teachings from Luke 21:1-19. On November 13th, the Twenty-Third Sunday after Pentecost she discussed the seasons of life. Regardless of the season individuals may be in, it is always about the hope in God and can be used as an opportunity to draw closer to Him. All things can be used to honor and glorify God’s Kingdom when we keep our focus on the Ever-Present Shepard and His love for each of sheep.
Rev Sandra Glenn Brown shared scripture from Luke 20:27-38 and Matthew 10:39. She discussed the religious leaders of that day and how we can apply His Word to our lives today. This service was the TwentySecond Sunday after Pentecost and we also celebrated The Great Thanksgiving for All Saints & Memorial during Holy Communion.
