Finished 2nd in the Shamrock Shake 5k. The areas only indoor 5k. This is held inside the Galleria Mall In Johnstown, PA. I ran basically the same time I put down last year. I held back alto because I was not going to win. Could have knocked off a good 30 seconds to a minute easily if had to. Its a fun unique race. I enjoyed it. I was sick most of the week so was not fully healthy and my lungs did hurt some by the end. USATF Atlanta: right off the bat ill say its a very unfortunate event, bad look and sad circumstances surrounding it. I would absolutely be pissed off if a pace car drove wrong way and cost me placement and money.Now let me begin to tell the truth since thats out of the way. While its unfortunate its still the responsibility of the runner to know the course and go the right way. While the pace car not knowing and driving wrong direction sucks its still up to runners to pay attention and know where to go. It is that simple. With technology today you should absolutely have a course on your watch if you dont know it or have previewed it so your familiar with it. Thats why alot of races still have course maps at registration even have gpx files for you to download. As a runner and even more so a lead runner its your responsibility to know where to go. Its part of being out in front. Its thier fault going wrong way. You are to never depend on lead/pace vehicles or volunteers. Yes I have been taken the wrong way be a lead vehicle before. I knew the course but followed lead vehicle that took me wrong way costing me a win i figured maybe they knew soemthing i didnt. I also have been sent wrong way tons of times by volunteers who didnt know or thought they knew where to go also costing me wins. Also confusing cpurse marking or marking that got turned. Even have followed runners in front of me that went the wrong way. It happens. It happens way more then people know. Yes both at road and trail races, even once at a ocr race. It was always my responsibility to know. It does not matter if its some small town local race or a world class event. Its still up to runner to pay attention and know. Also pace car give a huge advantage over competition. But noone is talking about that. A pace car that you can draft off of can give runners a good 10% advantage, yes I can absolutely tell the difference in when a car or even a human is in front of me during a race. It also allows you to run better overall because you dont generally have to worry where to go, so your not as tense and dont have to pay attention. I bet none of the top 3 complained when they benefitted from it over thier competition. And yes it is a unfair advantage that other runners dont have. One of which wasy first ever overall win. My times were pretty consistent. Was training some back then but not much. I will was still in the infancy stages of running. I did start to like it back then, but did not fall in love with it yet. I had an amazing conversation with two of the Race Directors Kristine and Meira. We talk about all things Rothrock including the new partnership with UTMB. I’ve ran Rothrock in the past, running both distances offered back then. I really did enjoy those races. So wanted to touch base and see what this new partnership brings.Excited for Pennsylvania to host a UTMB event. It will bring an opportunity that we did not have before in this state and is only 1 of 2 states on the East Coast to have a event. All this while showcasing to the world what Pennsylvania trail running has to offer. This will bring in runners from all over the world. This is just a introduction to the Archives. Which is a album/playlist I'm creating talking about past races I've participated in before I started documenting them all.  My first race ever was way back in 2002. I started video documenting only 3 years ago. There is over 450 races to document and catch up on. Not all will talked about some will have some good stories, some wont. Wasnt a good book. Feel it was pretty egocentric which is what you'd expect it to be. There was not really any tips in it. The story played out how you would expect, someone who wasnt a lady's man became one, who also became the so called top pickup artist in the world. Had a few of his top celebrities catches in it.  Touched on how things in the pickup would work, the good and bad. I feel most of the women if not all that he did pick up were on the easy side, because of the setting in which he picked them up. To me it was more of a numbers game and manipulating women then actually picking up a women to get to know. #32 Spartan Winter Death Race Finisher Tom Alguire Tom recently finished the 2026 Spartan Death Race. A endurance event that tests both your mental and physical abilities. He was the only one to finsih this year. He also finished a Death Race in 2019 and has participated in a few others. It was interesting to hear what the tasks were they had to complete and the PT that had to endure. Also go into the weather conditions, clothes changes, and how my times they had to get into water. Very interesting to hear about this mystery event. Even touch on what you need to do to prep for such a event and what it takes mentally to complete it.

Got it done. There was snow and slush on course no ice. Wore trail shoes. Lead whole race except maybe first .05 as someone took off fast. Had a minute at turn around. Glad wore trail shoes. I took 3 different pairs of shoes. My road race day wernt even given second thought. My road trainers were, i tired them and my trail race days on but road trainers were slipping. Traction won the day i feel shoe choice allowed me to win. I worked alot less harder had better grip while others were slipping. Felt decent. But not great. 1st mile was alot faster then expected. Pulled back some 2nd half race. No pressure on me. Stayed warm whole time. Never pushed to redline either. Could possibly of dropped a minute off if had to. Would been teetering on burn up though in conditions but could have. Happy with result. And how it went overall. Thinking about moving the race to a warmer month. Mainly for safety purposes. I understand its risky in Jamuary to sign up and possibly drive to the race, since weather so unpredictable that time of year. also I know people dont sign up because of the unpredictability, course conditions, temperatures ect.... so the other the other reason in moving is to try to bring in more people so we can raise more money for the fire company. Didnt have it. Was running good all week in training then today happens o well. Half course wss covered in snow/ice half wasnt. Wore trail trainers, should have worn road trainers wpudl ha e k ocled a minute off if i did. The clear parts really kocked my butt woth trail shoes, they were just to heavy and beat legs up, i could tell it was wrogn choice. Though before race when drove around course thought it was correct choice and i could make up time on covered parts. But nope. Gave up round mile 2. Knew didnt have it in me to catch 1st.  Almost got cuaght by 3rd having pulled back to much. Did have good traction though whole time just a little disapointed in myself. Doubt cpuld jave won either way. But it shpuld have been lot closer and i should have been in the mid to low 19s at least time wise. Felt like i ran worse this year then last year when i was actually sick, when got to race last year i started not feeling good fornsoem reason it like me as pulled in then had flu for 2 weeks so last year while time was worse still flet like ran better. Hope that makes sense. Still good to get put and race. Wasnt cold at all. Body has adapted well this winter to the cold. Pooped 3 times before race started today twice at home and once at race. It eas going thru me maybe that is what was wrong with me.
