This is not necessarily an issue that will naturally resolve itself as she matures. A people-pleasing girl is uniquely vulnerable in our society: - being ignored because "she's fine" - being bullied because she's a pushover - not advocating for herself at work - being stalked/harassed for being "too nice" - being date raped - being unable to end a relationship with a manipulative abuser - getting married / having children because it's expected of her - staying in abusive/unfulfilling marriage "for the children" or "because he needs me" So yes, teaching a 4-yr-old to speak up IS IMPORTANT.
