“If you're already going through health issues and hormonal changes, I don't want you to have to, you know, dip into savings to do this for yourself. I really wanted it to be accessible”‍What if your hardest battles became the blueprint for your greatest impact? For Demi Schweers, a former teacher turned Entreprenista, that’s exactly what happened. After being diagnosed with MS in 2020—followed by infertility, pregnancy loss, IVF, and a PCOS diagnosis—Demi began sharing her story online simply to find support. What she built instead was a global community of women who saw themselves in her vulnerability. That community became the catalyst for Iris, a women’s wellness brand redefining what it means to hydrate with intention. Rooted in empathy, science, and lived experience, Iris was born from Demi’s late-night symptom flares, early-morning product testing, and a deep desire to make hormonal and gut health more accessible. Co-founded with another female founder, Iris is a testament to what can happen when storytelling, purpose, and community collide. What we talked about:Early Jobs and Giving Back [2:58]The Diagnosis [5:41]The Partnership [12:06]Marketing for Iris [18:48]Trends on Social Media [23:29]Connect with Demi:‍Website‍ Instagram TikTok YouTube‍Resources Mentioned: Klayvio  Euka‍Join our Entreprenista League community of women founders! “I think one of the things that you have to be sure of is, like, money actually makes your problems way worse. Like, you can light money on fire very quickly. In this episode, we go beyond the headlines with Amber Venz Box, the co-founder and president of LTK, the $2B platform that transformed personal blogs into global businesses and helped define the modern creator economy. For the first time publicly, Amber opens up about the parts of her journey she’s never shared — from pitching her first round of funding on a bar stool in an Irish pub, to building one of the most powerful creator-commerce engines in the world, to the painful moment she was sidelined inside her own company. “But at the end of the day, like, you know your business the best. And just as you've proven to yourself so quickly building this business, there's no one who knows your brand and your business better than you do.” JoJo Fletcher and Mallory Patton, co-founders of Saint Spritz, turned an Aperitivo-hour obsession into a fast-growing, better-for-you canned cocktail brand. With zero beverage industry experience but endless creativity and determination, these sisters-in-law built a women-founded, family-run company now found on Target shelves nationwide. In this inspiring conversation, JoJo and Mallory share how a trip to Italy sparked their idea, how they navigated the wild world of beverage compliance and distribution, and why trusting your gut (even over “industry experts”) became their secret weapon. “It was our journey and we were quite happy on our journey and we knew that eventually all the things, everything would align and, you know, we would end up where we were meant to end up. But just for us two personally, we were very aligned as to how we wanted to grow the business.”From $20,000 in seed money to a global brand loved by women everywhere—this is the story of Eberjey. Founders Ali Mejia and Mariela Rovito share how a passion for beautiful, comfortable sleepwear sparked a business that grew into over 1,200 specialty stores worldwide. In this conversation, they open up about the challenges of launching in the pre-social media era, why they chose to stay self-funded, and the lessons learned from trade shows, distribution hurdles, and scaling through both wholesale and e-commerce.Ali and Mariela also reveal their biggest mistakes (and what they taught them), the creative tools their team relies on, and why focus is key for every entrepreneur. Most importantly, they highlight the power of community—lifting up other women founders and building supportive networks they wished they had when starting out. What we talked about:Spreading the Word [8:59]Changing With the Times [18:15]Making Small Mistakes [24:42]Funding a Business Like This [29:58]Being With the Right Business Partner [42:24]Connect with Ali and Mariela:Eberjey Ali's Linkedin Mariela's LinkedinJoin our Entreprenista League community of women founders! “I would say give yourself 30 days of visualizing every morning for 10 minutes every morning. What your life will look like in five years if you don't make any changes. And a lot of times, it's the realization that if you are living that sort of life where you're afraid to take the opportunities or to take the leaps, it's so much better to bet on yourself than it is to allow the world to happen to you.” On The Entreprenista Podcast, we don’t just talk about success, we uncover the elephants in the room that most people try to hide. In this episode, serial entrepreneur, bestselling author, and Earn Your Happy host Lori Harder gets real about fear, failure, and the messy middle of building a business. From growing up in a restrictive religion without a high school diploma, to losing everything during the 2008 recession, Lori shares how she turned setbacks into fuel for her entrepreneurial journey. You’ll hear the behind-the-scenes story of launching her first venture, pivoting into personal development, and ultimately founding Gloci. Along the way, Lori shares how she learned to embrace vulnerability as her superpower, why mentorship and community are essential for growth, and the bold mindset shifts that helped her raise capital and scale her vision. “An acquisition is not the end all, be all. And I really want to emphasize that because I think there's so many misnomers or ideas out there that people think the norm is raising money. I did not. There's another way to do it. It's just less talked about and gets less attention. The end all is not always an exit.” Gwen Whiting is a serial entrepreneur and the co-founder of The Laundress, an eco-friendly cleaning brand. After selling the company to Unilever in 2019, Gwen faced unexpected challenges navigating the acquisition process and the emotional toll of watching the brand she had built for many years start to sink. Now, Gwen is channeling her passion for wellness into her latest venture, The Fill, a private members cleaning community focused on sustainable solutions. Through this new chapter, she continues to advocate for responsible entrepreneurship and creating meaningful impact. After not being able to speak about the details of her acquisition until now, Gwen is finally able to reveal what can really happen after a sale. Tune in and hear the challenges Gwen faced going from founder to employee, what she learned from her acquisition, and why some of her best advice is to join the Entreprenista League.
