The past week has been really hard for the Portland Trail Blazers family. Legendary play by play announcer, Bill Schonely, who came up with the phrase “Rip City” passed away at the age of 93 on January 21, 2023. Bill was an absolute legend of the broadcasting community and will go down as one of the best to ever do it.
