As followers of Jesus, we associate the Advent Season with the anticipation of that first Christmas morning, as the world looked forward to the arrival of their long-awaited Messiah. Looking back on this unmatched moment in history, we can see clearly that God’s timing was perfect. This anchor moment in our faith’s history assures believers that, despite our circumstances, God’s provision is always Right On Time.
Jesus’ final message to His disciples was clear and succinct. There was no question as to what they needed to do, how they needed to do it, and that it was to become the focal point of their ministry efforts from that day forward. They were commissioned, and the commission was great. Over 2,000 years later, followers of Jesus must ask themselves if they are still committed to that same commission. Is it still possible? Is it still doable? Is it still great?
