Well here we are 3 weeks into the New Year and you already have 2 killer shows to dig into! This week is pretty much straight up punk again. This is music like I remember it. Punk like I remember it when I was a youth. Coming from a small town in Canada my ideas were not always the sharpest, but music helped me. I remember going to Dr. Disc in Windsor Ontario and picking up copies of the Metro Times from Detroit - Talk about an education. In the 80's and 90's learning about new music was not so easy and leaving your mark was even harder. Lot's of the of the bands on today's shows came from those days. Some newer and younger folks still rock it that way and props to them, its not easy! Hope you enjoy the show, it was a helluva throwback for me!  Don't forget to Listen live Thursday from 7 - 9 om EST and check out my other show, Rocksteady Tonight Sunday from 6-8 pm at www.BootBoyRadio.net. Turn it up loud and and as always thanks for listening ~ Phil (aka The Grinning Beggar).   The Playlist: Bad Religion   We're Only Gonna Die Stiff Little Fingers   Alternative Ulster Reagan Youth   U.S.A. Season 20, Episode #10 And you didn't have to wait months and months! I actually got a late start on today's show and was not even close to prepared, in fact I made this playlist while I was doing the show. Though within the first 7 minutes I had it done and we were kicking ass. Kicked in off with some Cock Sparrer, which set the tone for the rest of the show. Figured with Labour Day just passing, why not bust out a set on some Blue Collar Bangers and do an all Oi! Show..  So I did. Was a busy and evening, but the tunes are solid and are plentiful. Just remember because someone is a Skinhead doesn't automatically make them racist. Season 21, Episode #5  So... we might be on Episode #4 or #5, but it doesn't matter! The important part is that there is a new show, finally! I can make excuses but the bottom line is I am just a lazy fucker. Regardless today's show is a real banger. I figured being that Lion's Law was about to tour the US, and there are a lot of killer supporting bands so I figured this would make a good show.  As it runs out it made for a fucking fantastic show. Not all the bands are supporting acts, but all the tunes are pretty fucking awesome.  So get those boots dusted of and get ready to dance, Paddy Rock starts now. Season 21, Episode #3  Well I am back without a 6 month wait! The response to the expanded Paddy Rock pallet has been nothing short of brilliant. Seems Oi! transcends Celtic Punk extremely well, I suspect it is that blue collar, working class values they both share. This is a great thing because I have been playing a lot of it and this week is 2 hours or Punk Rock, Street Punk, Oi! bangers! This show rocks so hard you will be rooting through your fridge for breakfast beers! Not only is this show ripe with proper bangers, there are a handful of screaming classics from Down Under, hence the name of the show. I am certain you will play through one through a few times.  Pardon the vulgarity, but it comes with the territory. Listen live Thursday from 7 - 9 om EST at www.BootBoyRadio.net. Season 21, Episode #2  Am calling this show the late bloomer I have had it uploaded and ready for weeks, maybe months now! And it's a real banger, just you wait. The thing is school is so busy presently and I am so close to the end I dare not take my foot off the gas. Anyone who knows me can tell you I am very obsessed with kicking ass and doing my best, such a paradigm from when i was younger. Anyway this is a great show and I hope you enjoy. Season 21, Episode #1 As we kick 2021's ass out the door now is the time to have a look at some of the great Celtic Punk & Rock the year brought  us. Its not as much as previous years, but there was a good bit! Though for the amount we got it was still a strange year, presumably due to 2 years of Covid, Lockdowns, cancelled shows and social distancing, bands just don't really have the funds to produce full length albums. Who can really say but the result has been a handful of full length albums, a number of Ep's and 2 handfuls of singles, but at least we have music to rock out to. So enjoy the round up from 2021 I did not get through all of it, I only have 2 hours. If you want to listen to it all check out my Spotify Playlist HERE ! And keep your eyes open for the best of 2021 coming out sometime this year.  Turn it up loud and don't forget to drop by and visit our friends at Covert Vinyl Fire it up and as always thanks for listening ~ Phil (aka The Grinning Beggar). Season 20, Episode #11 Well October is here and my birthday has come and gone once again, still not a fan but they get less painful because I care less. One thing is for sure though, the older I get the harder I try to hang onto the things I loved in my youth. One of those things is music! I walked so many paths I have forgot more music than most people will ever know. That is the reason for this episode, I am not sure I have ever done a purely Punk show, so this it is. Mostly every tune is something from my younger days when I was Punk as Fuck...  You remember those days too don't you? Walking clichés we were, ohhh those good old days!  Enjoy the show and don't forget to drop by and visit our friends at Covert Vinyl Fire it up and as always thanks for listening ~ Phil (aka The Grinning Beggar). Season 20, Episode #9 FINALLY - Its been a busy summer and I have only been doing the live shows.  But don't let the title fool you, no script is used ever here at Paddy Rock. That is if you can't tell by the incoherent ramblings sighs and grumbles...  And don't forget the mistakes.  Its part of what Paddy Rock real! What I have done is started back to school and my Tuesday nights are filled with class, 11 hours on campus..  YIKES.  So I moved the Ska show (archives) to Tuesday and Paddy Rock to Thursday. So this is the latest banger for your listening pleasure stuffed full of Punk, Oi!, Celtic Punk and maybe even a few Hardcore tunes. I've had a lot of people asking me about my Christmas Podcasts. Never in my life did I think that my baudy Celtic Punk Christmas shows would become "Tradition" for people and family's. Well straight up I am fucking honoured ! For those of you who don't know I have encountered some life changes this year. Most of my stuff is packed, the old site is gone and the archived files are?  But I found a decent selection of Christmas shows both from the Paddy Rock and Grinning Beggar Days (VERY OLD), Hope you enjoy them cheers to better days in 2024. Look for a fund drive coming soon!  Much Love and Respect. Merry Christmas ~ Phil

When I was a kid I watched movies for the soundtrack. As an adult I find I still do the same thing.  recently we watched SAS Rogue Heroes and fell in love with it.  Not only was it a great WWII Action series, the soundtrack was amazing. Packed full of 70's era punk tunes it was an awesome way to augment the over the top action, attitude and language.  I frigged up a bit and fixed the mistakes to where you likely won't notice, but a couple tunes are missing.  And full admission while many, in fact most of these songs are in the first 2 series, I backed filled what was missing with similar tunes.  Anyway I hope you enjoy the show and if you are looking for something to watch try the show you won't be disappointed. Surprise! Phil has gotten off his ass and uploaded another new episode.  St. Patrick's Day this year saw a lot of good new releases, but many of them were not available to play until after my last saw was released. So I did all I could do and included them on this show, in addition to some old favourites, how could I not! With so many good friends in the scene it would be a disservice to all of us. So enjoy the remnants of St. Patrick's Day and a good sampling of other tunes to round out this episode Enjoy the show and thanks for listening. I am sure many of you wondered if you were going to see a St. Patrick's Day show this year. Allow me to reply with a resounding Fuck yeah Bay-Bay ! Paddy Rock was founded 25 years ago, by John Bowles and was at that time solely Celtic Rock and Punk. It was about 13 years ago I took it over and ran with it for a good long time. Then around the time of Covid Celtic Music started to wane globally. If an effort to keep Paddy Rock alive and relevant I began to pick up and play more Punk, Street Punk and Oi! as there were many similarities between the scenes and the cultures, crossing over in many instances. And this is where we sit today, celebrating Irish music and culture for St. Patrick's Day with an added smattering of Punk, Street Punk and Oi!. The show is not the 4 or 6 hour epics like they used to be, but I am certain they will get you up off your arse and ready for the Holy Day!  Be safe and be smart! Enjoy the show and thanks for listening. Don't forget to listen to Paddy Rock live Wednesdays from 7 - 9 pm EST and Rocksteady Tonight Sundays from 6-8 pm on www.BootBoyRadio.net. Second Episode is done, that must be a record! But if I am being honest this show was so amazing I had to post it. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did. This Episode is chalked full of Oi! & Street Rock and Roll, some of old favourites and some killer new bangers. Turn this beast up loud, but I don't think you will have much control over that. Look for a new one coming in the next week If you enjoy if you can follow me on Spotify for Playlists of other shows, and as always listen live on Wednesday 7-9 pm EST at the link below. First show of the year, would like to say I have a good excuse but I don't. I am lazy and I have been actually trying to get out a bit more. There have been so many good shows, and so many more coming. regardless with it being VD day I thought I would give you some additional motivation. So for your earhole I present Season 24, Episode 1 of the Paddy Rock Podcast. Figured with all the wild politics going on we needed  a voice of reason to say "It's Going to be Alright" - So with fingers crossed, I hope for the best, enjoy the show!  If you enjoy if you can follow me on Spotify for Playlists of other shows, and as always listen live on Wednesday the deets are below.
