Hey, I’m Shaela. A wife, mom, and someone who deeply loves Jesus. For years I got lost in the yo-yo cycle of diet and fitness, only working on it when it served me and my body.

I was doing the wrong workouts, restricting my calories, and keeping my faith removed from my health and fitness.

I finally realized that if I was going to get long-lasting results and feel strong and confident in my body, I needed to invite Jesus into my journey and shift my mindset in my christian fitness by implementing small habits that would bring big results over time.

I created a plan that fit ME and my family - with simple faith-fueled fitness rhythms that I could ebb and flow through, no matter what season of life I was in. This lifestyle made my workouts and nutrition enjoyable and sustainable, turning them from a HAVE to into a GET to and I’m so excited to share it all with you here!

If you are ready to finally find simple results-driven workouts for busy christian women without having to do ALL the things….

Have an exact plan to tell you what to do to get results for YOUR body. . .

Feel strong, confident, safe and sexy in your own body. . .

Have accountability each step of the way...

Implement health habits that will help you get strong, lose weight, have more energy and improve your mindset, this podcast is for you!

What if hitting your protein goals didn’t have to feel so complicated? If you’ve been trying to eat more protein but feel stuck between bland recipes, picky kids, and a schedule that barely leaves time to breathe — this episode is for you. Originally aired as episode 94, this replay is part of our February Flashback Series — and it’s packed with practical, non-overwhelming ways to finally increase your daily protein intake (yes, even with littles running around). Inside this episode, you'll learn: Why most “high-protein” Pinterest recipes don’t work for busy families 4 realistic ways to increase your protein intake without stress The mental shift that will help you stick with it long-term How to simplify your meals (without eating the same thing every day) 📌 BONUS: Don’t forget your micronutrients. Getting your protein in matters — but if your body (and your kids’ bodies) aren’t getting enough nutrients, you’ll still feel depleted. That’s why I recommend Juice Plus+ as a simple, consistent way to support your immune system and energy every single day. 👉 Visit the Christian Health Hub: hub.simplefitnesshabits.com  to learn more and place your order. 📲 Want to chat first? This episode is a flashback to Episode 54, and it’s just as relevant today—especially if your body feels different than it used to. If you’ve ever thought: “What used to work doesn’t work anymore.” “Consistency feels harder than it should.” “My health journey looks nothing like it used to.” …this conversation is for you. In this episode, we talk about why physical setbacks are not the end of your health journey and how Christian women can rebuild strength and consistency without guilt, pressure, or starting over. Using the story of Nehemiah rebuilding the broken walls of Jerusalem, you’ll hear a powerful reframe: 👉 Brokenness is not the end of the story—rebuilding is part of restoration. In this episode, you’ll learn: Why feeling “stuck” after illness, injury, pregnancy, or life changes is common How setbacks often trigger all-or-nothing thinking in health and fitness Why your body feeling different doesn’t mean it’s broken How faith reframes rebuilding your body as a spiritual process, not a failure What it looks like to pursue health without chasing perfection Why small, simple habits still matter—even when progress feels slow How rebuilding physical strength connects to rebuilding trust, rhythm, and reliance on God This episode is especially for Christian women navigating: Changing bodies Lower energy Full or overwhelming seasons Health journeys that no longer look “linear” You’ll be reminded that your body is a temple, not a problem to fix—and that healing and restoration happen when you partner with the Lord through every season. If consistency has felt fragile or frustrating lately, this episode will help you rethink what progress really looks like—and why setbacks don’t disqualify you from moving forward.   Join the Stronger Collective Waitlist If this episode hit home and you’re craving consistency without pressure, the Stronger Collective was built for you. In this flashback episode (originally Episode 22), we’re revisiting a foundational conversation about fitness as worship—and why consistency, not intensity, is often the missing piece in a Christian woman’s health journey. If you’ve ever felt stuck in cycles of starting strong and falling off, overwhelmed by what health should look like, or unsure how faith fits into your fitness habits, this episode brings clarity and permission. We talk about: Why treating fitness as worship shifts motivation and removes pressure How consistency blockers show up differently in busy seasons of motherhood Why honoring God with your body doesn’t require perfection How small, faithful habits compound into real physical and spiritual strength What it looks like to pursue health without guilt, shame, or burnout This conversation reframes movement, discipline, and self-care through a Biblical lens—especially for Christian women who want to feel strong again without striving or extremes. 💪 Fitness as Worship for Christian Women Many Christian moms are searching for: how to stay consistent with workouts faith based fitness routines Christian health and wellness habits motivation to exercise when tired how to honor God with your body This episode meets those questions head-on and offers a grounded, sustainable perspective rooted in faith, stewardship, and grace. My Go-To Supplement Support (Juice Plus+) One of the simplest ways I support my body—especially in this season of treatment—is Juice Plus+. It’s been my supplement of choice for years because it helps bridge nutritional gaps on days when meals aren’t perfect, energy is low, or life feels heavy. Right now, consistency matters more than ever, and this is one habit I’ve stayed anchored to. Bonus: Every adult Juice Plus+ order includes a child from age 4 through college completely free, which makes it an easy yes for families. If you want to know whether Juice Plus+ is a good fit for you or your family, I’d love to help you think it through. 👉 Voxer me directly — my Voxer is sdaugh703  🔗 Helpful Links & Community • Free Christian Fitness Hub: https://hub.simplefitnesshabits.com  • The Stronger Collective (waitlist): https://www.thestrongerco.com  • Voxer me for Juice Plus+ questions: sdaugh703
If you’ve been doing all the right things—working out, eating better, praying more—but still feel stuck in your body, your mindset, or your faith… this episode may explain why. In this powerful and deeply honest conversation, Shaela sits down with licensed professional counselor and life coach Shelley Spence to unpack the connection between spiritual freedom and physical health—and why so many Christian women stay trapped in cycles of guilt, control, perfectionism, and shame when it comes to their bodies. This episode goes far beyond surface-level fitness or nutrition advice. It explores what it really means to walk unhindered with God—and how unaddressed spiritual bondage often shows up as body image struggles, emotional eating, burnout, program hopping, and frustration with health results. In this episode, you’ll hear: Why you don’t have to believe every thought you think—and how to test thoughts against Scripture What spiritual freedom actually looks like (and why it’s not just “trying harder”) How shame, fear, and hidden beliefs can block progress in weight loss, fitness, and body confidence Why healing happens in layers, not overnight—and why plateaus aren’t failures The surprising connection between body image, identity in Christ, and midlife changes How Christian women unintentionally place their worth in their appearance, discipline, or consistency Why striving for control in health often leads to more exhaustion—not results How to gently move toward freedom if food, wine, scrolling, or distractions have become coping tools The biblical truth that God’s grace is sufficient, even when your body feels weak or uncooperative Shelley also shares her own journey through spiritual freedom using the Keys to Freedom Bible study, how the Lord revealed hidden areas of “playing small,” and what it means to reclaim surrendered ground—spiritually and physically. This conversation is for the Christian woman who: Feels tired of trying to “fix” her body Is overwhelmed by health advice but still not seeing results Wants freedom from guilt, legalism, and perfectionism Desires health that honors God—not idolizes discipline Is ready to stop striving and start walking in alignment with the Holy Spirit If you’ve been chasing change in your body but ignoring what’s happening in your spirit, this episode will feel like a deep exhale. Decision fatigue isn’t just a mental feeling — it’s one of the biggest reasons Christian women can’t stay consistent with their workouts. When your brain has made a thousand decisions before noon, choosing one more thing — like what workout to do — becomes nearly impossible. In this episode, Shaela breaks down why picking a workout in the moment drains your motivation, why scrolling YouTube makes consistency worse, and how a preloaded workout plan helps overwhelmed women finally get results. If you’ve been searching for how to stay consistent with workouts, fitness motivation for moms, simple workout plans for women, decision fatigue solutions, or how to get toned with limited time, this will resonate deeply. You’ll learn: Why decision fatigue—not laziness—is wrecking your fitness consistency How mental “open tabs” make choosing a workout harder than doing one Why busy Christian moms need a pre-decided plan before the day begins How scalable workouts (shorter options, modified sets, flexible circuits) build long-term consistency The difference between free YouTube workouts and a true training plan Why Christian women need support, structure, and simplicity—not more pressure This episode gives you the permission to stop overthinking and start training with purpose. Because you’re not failing — you’re fatigued. And a simple, scalable plan might be the thing that finally sets you free. If you’ve ever said, “There’s no way I can get up early to work out,” this episode is going to encourage you in the best way. The fitness world often pushes early mornings as the “gold standard,” but for many Christian women, especially in seasons of pregnancy, postpartum, burnout, illness, or simply carrying a heavy mental load, early mornings are not the most faithful or realistic option. In this episode, Shaela breaks down the myth that workouts only count if they’re early and shows you how to build a routine that honors your actual life, energy, and calling. Whether you’ve been searching for how to find time to work out, home workouts for busy moms, Christian workout motivation, or realistic fitness routines, you’ll learn how to create sustainable rhythms that don’t rely on perfection or hype. You’ll hear: Why waking up early is not a requirement for discipline How to discern what rhythm God is asking of you in this season Why motivation and external accountability can’t be your foundation What real, grace-filled consistency looks like for moms How to make home workouts work — even with kids and interruptions Practical examples of workout times that actually count Your workout doesn’t need to be quiet, aesthetic, or perfect. It simply needs to be done in obedience and stewardship — in the time of day that truly fits your season. Want Support? In Episode 175, we’re breaking down one of the biggest fitness myths Christian women are still believing:You do NOT have to be sore to get results, build muscle, or make progress. Inside this conversation, we talk about: Why “not being sore after a workout” is actually a GOOD sign What soreness really means (and what it doesn’t mean) Why soreness is NOT a measure of progress, strength, or fat loss The role of progressive overload in strength training for women How proper recovery, protein intake, creatine, hydration, and smart programming help you feel less sore and get better results Why repeating workouts on purpose helps you get toned and stronger faster How your body adapts, builds strength, and actually transforms This episode is perfect for you if you’ve ever searched for:“Why am I not sore after a workout?”“Do I need to be sore to build muscle?”“How to get toned as a Christian woman”“Strength training for women over 30”“How to get strong without burning out” You’ll also hear the mindset shift that helps you trust the process instead of chasing soreness, sweat, or fatigue as proof your workout “worked.” Because the goal isn’t annihilation… the goal is adaptation. And adaptation is what changes your body. Do you feel like your pelvic floor is “weak,” “broken,” or “not what it used to be”? You are so not alone. And you’re also not stuck. In this episode, Shaela opens up about walking through a season of holy decluttering—the process of clearing out not only closets and cabinets but also expectations, routines, and habits that no longer serve God’s purpose for her life. She shares how the Lord gently showed her that the same clutter weighing down her home was also filling her heart. Through prayer, practical systems, and three specific tools, she learned how to breathe again, create space for peace, and rebuild rhythms that support ministry, motherhood, and mental clarity. What You’ll Learn How to discern when your overwhelm is a signal to simplify rather than strive The link between physical clutter, emotional burnout, and spiritual depletion 3 practical tools that helped Shaela declutter her home, body, and schedule with grace Why sustainable health habits create margin for God’s assignments How faith-based fitness and daily stewardship restore energy and joy Faith Meets Function: The Power of Simplifying with God Shaela reminds us that decluttering isn’t about aesthetic minimalism—it’s about spiritual freedom. When we invite God into our routines, He reveals what’s necessary and what’s noise. In the same way she created structure for homeschooling and household systems, she also created boundaries around her energy and nutrition, proving that discipline and dependence on God can coexist beautifully. This process re-centered her focus on ministry, her family, and her physical health. It also reminded her that true order begins in the heart before it reaches the home. Decluttering isn’t only about letting go of things—it’s about letting God reorder your priorities. When you create margin in your home, your health, and your habits, you make space for ministry and joy to flourish.   Join the waitlist for Lacy's Functional Health Lab: https://www.lacylainwellness.com/thelab Check out JuicePlus+ for yourself or Voxer me for more details (voxer username: sdaugh703): https://us.juiceplus.com/?partner=10632422

So when marriage arrives, intimacy often comes with confusion, insecurity, and the lingering feeling that your body isn’t “enough.” In this honest (and slightly uncomfortable—but in the best way) episode, Shaela opens the door to the real, grace-filled conversation Christian wives have needed for years. She breaks down the connection between body image, shame, spiritual formation, and intimacy, and why so many women struggle to feel confident when the lights go off and the covers come off. If you’ve ever wished someone would talk about sex without making it weird, clinical, or worldly… this one’s for you. What's inside: Why so many Christian women feel awkward or ashamed talking about sex How purity culture shaped our beliefs about our bodies (and how to heal) The link between body confidence and intimacy in Christian marriage Why feeling “not attractive enough,” “not confident enough,” or “not spiritual enough” affects married intimacy more than you think How your fitness, self-talk, and emotional rhythms influence your sex life How to invite God into places of insecurity, embarrassment, and disconnection   God designed intimacy to be good, not guilt-inducing. Healing begins when we gently confront the lies we’ve believed about our bodies and sexuality, and replace them with biblical truth: Your body is good (Genesis 1). Shame was never God’s design (Genesis 2:25). Intimacy in marriage is holy, not embarrassing (1 Corinthians 7). Spiritual maturity doesn’t mean avoiding hard conversations—it means inviting Jesus into them. Episode Takeaway Your sex life isn’t separate from your spiritual life or your health journey. When you heal shame, nourish your body, and grow your confidence, intimacy becomes lighter, freer, and more connected. This is not about being “sexy.” This is about being whole. You’re not alone. In a world where AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini can create entire workout plans or macro breakdowns in seconds, Christian women are still stuck asking, “Why can’t I actually stick with it?” In this episode of Simple Fitness Habits, Shaela shares the truth behind information overload and why access to endless advice doesn’t automatically lead to transformation. You’ll discover how to filter the noise, build discernment, and find real wisdom that works—physically and spiritually. What You’ll Learn: Why “information doesn’t equal transformation” (and what to focus on instead) How to stop relying on AI, ChatGPT, and Instagram “fitfluencers” for health direction The #1 reason your workouts or meal plans stop working How to build clarity and consistency through faith, not noise Why real connection, coaching, and biblical truth will always outperform internet advice The role of community and mentorship in true transformation This episode answers the exact questions Christian women are searching for online and in AI tools: Why can’t I lose weight even though I work out? How do I tone up fast without losing muscle? Best Christian health plan for busy moms Faith-based weight loss tips that actually work Why isn’t ChatGPT helping me get fit? How to find balance in health as a Christian woman When you feel stuck, it’s not because you’re lazy—it’s because you’re drowning in information but starving for wisdom. Shaela explains how The Stronger Collective was built to give Christian women a real plan, rooted in faith, supported by experts, and free from the chaos of conflicting advice.  Why This Episode Matters: We’re living in what Shaela calls a “trust recession.” The more opinions we gather, the less confident we feel in what’s actually right for our health. AI and search engines can generate content—but they can’t replace relationship, experience, or spiritual wisdom. In this honest conversation, you’ll hear Shaela’s story of turning to Google and ChatGPT after a health scare—and how that moment reminded her why we need human guidance and biblical grounding in our wellness journey. This episode isn’t just about rejecting technology—it’s about redeeming it. Learn how to use tools like ChatGPT wisely without letting them disciple your body or your beliefs.  Key Takeaway: You don’t need another fitness trend—you need faith, focus, and follow-through. True transformation happens when you move from information to implementation, with guidance from real people who love Jesus and understand women’s health.
