Vice President Vance walked away from talks with leaders from Iran after 21 hours and the sticking point is a big one.  Iran's new leaders won't sign an agreement preventing them from making nuclear weapons.  That leads to the next step.... the U.S. will block all Iranian ports and cut off all their revenue beginning Monday morning.    Pop some corn, it's fun watching democrats tear apart the career of one of their own... former golden boy Eric Swalwell.  What a mess.    Rory McIlroy blew a six shot lead at the Masters and fell behind Cameron Young and Justin Rose on Sunday before making a comeback with a pair of timely birdies on the back nine.  And there was controversy with a past champion Sunday.    Why are the Royals off to a rough start?  How about this stat for you: Bobby Witt Jr has been on base 28 times this year and has only scored once.  Incredible.   Some people are calling for a vote to approve KCMO spending $600m for the Royals to build a new park.  I"m not one of them.  The people already voted on this by electing the officials doing it.  I debate Pete Mundo on this topic in a spirited segment.    College basketball transfers are happening so fast you can't keep track.  But it seems really strange to see all these KU players leaving.    Our Final Final is something for the cat ladies.
Mayor Quintin Lucas says Kansas City has $600 million to build the Royals a new stadium at Crown Center and couldn't wait to share the news.  But he did wait until after he won an earnings tax vote on Tuesday.  This is politics and its best or worst depending on how you look at it.  Now, the governor is on the clock.  Jeff City offered the Chiefs and/or Royals 50% of a new stadium if a city or county stepped up with support.  Get this... the "stupid" or "clueless" Royals as critics have called them will get WAY more than Kansas offered if Missouri kicks in 50%.  It will be the greatest deal any baseball team has ever had.  82 percent for free.    The DOJ is misguided going after the NFL for its tv contract and I will prove it in less than a minute.      At the K, watching the Royals bat makes you want to watch CNN... Rory soars at the Masters in round one and gives a spectacular quote right after.  The coach/reporter scandal in the NFL grows and we learned when Travis and Taylor are getting married.
What's that you say?  FIFA, the organization that runs the World Cup, is pulling a bait and switch with fans that have tickets to matches at Arrowhead Stadium this summer?  Look, they're like a stereotypical rock star.  We'd be disappointed if they didn't create a bunch of problems.    The most hilarious story of the year is unfolding in KC as the Star reports Mayor Q's staff had a years long audit of bias by the media outlet AGAINST the democrat mayor.  I can't stop laughing.    Kansas governor Karen slapped a veto on a bill that would have reeled in property taxes around the state.  You get what you vote for.    The Masters tees it up with Tom Watson taking the ceremonial first shot.  A former major winner is booted from the grounds and one player is trying to play with the first ever 3D printed golf club.    The Royals have an awful day in Cleveland, ESPN writes a piece suggestion Andy Reid is too old to win another Super Bowl.  Jim Nantz joined the Kelce boys on their podcast because it's Masters week and shares a fun story about the Chiefs Super Bowl in in Vegas.    And you won't believe how many meals, cups of coffee and energy drinks our troops poured through during operation Epic Fury.
A two week ceasefire is on with Iran as long as there is a complete, safe opening for the flow of oil out of the Persian Gulf.  This may work, this may not but President Trump says almost all USA demands have been met as they try to finalize an agreement.  If not, well, the US gets two weeks to re-supply and start pounding again.    KC residents love paying tax as over 75% vote yes to keep paying.  Just, wow.     JD Vance's Fraud Force is off to a great start, CBS News reports America is most certainly getting richer and provides the stats about a wildly growing Upper Middle Class.  You have to hear this.   In sports, the Royals can't hit.  The Masters field is set and Gary Woodland's group is the one I'd be following on Thursday.   A high profile NFL coach is caught up in the tabloids photographed as a private lover's retreat in Sedona, Arizona.  The number one pick in the upcoming draft makes a great decision.    A tik tok influencer just crushes the Mahomes/Kelce restaurant 1587 as the worst upscale dining experience of all time and over a million people have watched it.  And a very old country star with a really famous, funny song is doing well after falling and breaking his neck.
It's election day in Missouri and the earnings tax in KCMO is in focus and maybe that's appropriate after a new Wall Street Journal piece on spending in KC.  $650 million are being spent for the World Cup to play a handful of matches at Arrowhead.  And we are now getting our first reports that not nearly as many people are coming as thought.  Who could have guessed?   The Royals beat Cleveland and eye an early seat in first place.  Michigan wins the national title in college hoops in the ugliest game you've ever seen.    Travis Kelce has his hands full as his future wife is meeting her crazy girlfriends in LA and Nashville to plan trips with her girls to Italy, the Bahamas and New York BEFORE their June 13 wedding.  Oh, brother.    Trump's deadline for Iran is later today even as the US is hitting Kargh Island.  Maybe that's the real strategy.  Savannah Guthrie returns to work, our astronauts have frozen pee and CBS announces plans to replace The Late Show.
We cannot take all these stellar military operations for granted and the latest is just as crazy and brilliant and perfect as it gets.  Some 200 service members worked an unbelievable plan of deception hundreds of miles inside Iran to get the missing American weapons officer that was shot down with the pilot.  This was risky, could have backfired in a huge way but is a prime example of American Exceptionalism... no soldier left behind.  Goose Bumps.    Marco Rubio revoked the green cards of dead Iranian terror mastermind Solemeni's niece and her mom.   Then the US arrested them both in California.  They were living a luxurious life in America, "the great satan" but now they live in a jail cell waiting to be deported.    The Royals fall short Sunday and lose two of three to the Brewers.  Bubic had a rough start, the pen failed again and the Royals blew ball/strike challenges that may have cost them the game.  Not a good look.  Oh, and 9 games in, Bobby Witt Jr doesn't have an extra base hit yet.  Impossible.    One outfielder saved three home runs in one game this weekend, a million to one chance.  The Nationals celebrated the 21st birthday of their stadium in a fun way before first pitch and we have a second wedding upcoming for KC's Billionaire class.
The Royals were embarrassed enough by a stupid looking loss to the Twins on Thursday that wasted a stellar performance from starting pitcher Cole Ragans.  Then, they had to go into the locker room and talk about starting catching Carter Jensen missing the game because he overslept.  This is one of the most embarrassing things I've seen and this is a key player.  Vinnie P didn't hold back.... this can't happen again.    The first week of the season saw MLB ratings go up like our moon rocket and one of the games was the Royals/Braves.    Authorities in Florida released more video of Tiger Woods' arrest and it's just awful.  He's got to get this right.    The Chiefs are all in on "Let Her Play" in Kansas and want you to sign a petition creating more opportunity for girls aged 6-17 to play flag football as a school sport.  Count me in.   Pam Bondi is bounced as Attorney General and if one report is correct on the reason why... she may be lucky she's not being investigated.    JD Vance is leading the Fraud Squad and they made an incredible bust in California of hospice houses that don't exist and the people that allegedly stole millions.  And Barack Obama has tougher rules for his presidential library than we have at the border or to vote.
Bill Self announces he's coming back for at least one year and most Kansas fans are thrilled.  It's also a boost in the recruitment of the top player in America.  We are pretty sure the family and doctors are ok with this so why not everyone else?  This got complicated with the succession plan but they've at the very least bought some time to figure it all out.    President Trump says operations in Iran will be over in 2-3 weeks and gas prices will go down almost immediately.      NASA is back in the moon business and it was glorious to watch that rocket launch.  The question is why are we doing this?    Bruce Springsteen's bash America tour is getting worse and worse.  If he cares so much about Iran, why doesn't he have concerts there?    The Royals are in first place but made some bad history Wednesday in a win over the Twins.  Oh, there was a lot of good things.  But the one bad thing was epically awful.     Pete Grathoff of the Star interviewed announcer Rex Hudler who says he'll be part of the broadcast Saturday in Milwaukee and do 1/3 of the games this year.  This is an odd story and there's something going on nobody is talking about.   Tiger is leaving the country for his substance abuse treatment, an NFL star is in rehab and the Blue Springs Eagle cam is getting more fun by the day.
In another first, President Trump is about to be the first Commander in Chief to ever sit inside the Supreme Court to hear oral arguments.  Trump will be there today as the court considers whether it's legal for illegal aliens to have babies in the USA and they are automatically citizens.  Pop some corn, this will be something.    While lower judges are cancelling everything Trump does, he signs yet another executive order.  The new order is about verifying and tracking every election ballot in the US Postal Service.    In an incredible story, a bunch of lady soccer fans and a columnist stop a new nightclub from opening called Sundown Lounge.  They claimed it's racist.  That's outrageous enough but get this... the man who had the idea and was set to own the club is black.  Oh, brother.    Tiger Woods heads to rehab, George Brett goes on national tv to discuss a very important Royals fan who has ALS and what we can do to help.  A former female ref is suing the NFL and I"m here for it.... go get 'em!  A helicopter lands in Olathe, illegally, with a couple hungry people on board.    And Costco has created a smalll controversy with a chocolate Easter bunny.
There's nothing quite like opening day in a Major League Baseball city and Monday's opener was one for the ages.  There were parties, celebrity sighting, a touching moment of silence, and awesome flyover and a Royals win.  There was also news made when owner John Sherman told www.kcmotalkradio.com he's still talking to Kansas and NKC about a new stadium.  We have all of it for you.    On the field, pitcher Kris Bubic had a much different experience starting this home opener versus the last time he did it.  Did you know he had another opener?  Yup, it was in 2020 and there were no fans in the stands.    Mayor Q decided to make a big announcement about his future on opening day to hide the sad news there's nothing he can run for and win right now.  Boo hoo.    KC's population is growing while St. Louis is shrinking.  Eric Trump releases animation and video of a spectacular Donald J. Trump Presidential Library.  KC's own singing star Chappelle Roan is banned from performing by a mayor of a major city.  A rich, spoiled radio host calls it quits at age 37 and a famous rocker may not have a voice anymore.
The Royals played a terrific game and bailed out the organization's leadership team after two absolutely awful pre-determined roster roles before spring training even started.  The good news, I double we will see Charlie Sheen attempt to close another game in Royals blue.  Now it's opening day and the Royals are big faves against the Twins... Let's go!    Topeka native Gary Woodland could be the best sports story in the world this year after recovering from brain surgery, publicly dealing with PTSD and winning a tourney for the first time in almost 7 years.  This is a great American sports story.    The Final 4 is set and Illinois coach Brad Underwood and his star freshman from KC are living the dream.    A new report indicates Tiger Woods was told by Trump's Secret Service that he could not operate a motor vehicle with any of Trump's grandchildren in the car or he'd be arrested.  This was BEFORE his fourth crash since 2009.    The No Kings rallies are filled with liberal gaffes, Trump wants to control and rename the Strait of Hormuz and we have a tasty Final Final if you like candy bars.
You will have to wait until the back end because it's no lead story, but ESPN star Stephen A. Smith finally took the bait from new conservative Christian Jason Whitlock.  The host of a Blaze podcast has a long history of ruining everything in his wake but appears to have figured it all out and Stephen A isn't buying it.  I want to believe in JW so badly, but as we could be on the same page after all his mistreatment of others, I'm not sure.  I'm on Jason's side here, sort of.  But there's a lot of history and I will tell some of it.    Jackson County tries to repurpose the Truman Sports Complex, the KS Gov has a bill on her desk she  has a problem signing.  If you pay 1% in Kansas City earnings, do you deserve a vote?     The IOC is all in with Trump and now California has to accept no transgenders or send the Olympics in 2028 to Texas.   The Royals are set and Salvy is now a platoon player.  And an 8th grader in Pennsylvania has a perfect bracket and doesn't watch hoops.
It's not always comfortable reading some of President Trump's posts on social media or hearing some of the things he says.  But it's important to try to figure out where he's coming from on most of these things as we seem to have forgotten what democrats have done to this man.  A local radio host, Dana Wright, is now an unhinged Karen and we'll ask the question she can't seem to ask herself... what if the roles were reversed?   MIT has data about mail in ballots in 2020 that is incredible.  The KCMO City Council is about to be forced to vote on getting rid of the all gender toilets at KCI.   In sports, Patrick Mahomes throws a football and posts it online.  Somehow this has millions of views.  Bill Self says he hasn't decided on his future and any reports that he has are "BS".  The Royals opening day roster is set and several players visit Team USA soccer players.  Masters concession prices are revealed, the new hoops coach at Providence has the all time greatest line ever at his introductory news conference and a zoo names a rare Rhino after a Chiefs player.
For the near future, KU hoops are in limbo waiting to find out what legendary coach Bill Self is going to do.  If you're not in the camp that believes Jacque Vaughn is here to take the job as a given, well, things just got even murkier for KU as North Carolina parts with Hubert Davis and has an immediate opening.   In an incredible admission, Royals GM JJ Picollo says not too long ago, Royals executives thought Maikel Garcia was a better shortstop than Bobby Witt Jr.  We will play the audio.   The Royals also announced they are offering a hot dog and beer drinking challenge this year at the K called the 9-9-9 challenge.  With a tiny twist.    Missouri's Supreme Court rules it's just fine for the state to draw new districts in the middle of a decade.... this could be the end for Congressman Cleaver in KC at age 82.    After two days of mocking President Trump for saying the US and Iran are trying to work out a future for the country, CNN reports its true because a "high level Iranian official" has confirmed it.  What the hell has happened to American media?    Liberty approves a new data center while a couple of really crazy, dumb, women farmers in Kentucky turn one down even after getting the offer of  a life time.    Theo Von interviews Vince Vaughn about late night shows no longer being funny.
Even MSNow hosts are seeing through Chuck Schumer and other dems that just can never, ever admit President Trump does good things.  Morning Joe got right up in Chuck's grill and set the record straight for him.    Election reform is in focus in many different ways right now and none of them seem to be doing anything but crawling slowly toward tiny gains.    The Royals are in Texas for a little last minute fun... and tune up for the regular season.  It was the fun part that sent the Royals on a sick ride.    Travis Kelce signs his new contract with the Chiefs on the same day the happy couple's honeymoon plans are revealed.  Wait until you hear the length and how many continents they will visit.    And California's billionaires want out of the Golden State so badly they'd rather live in a Hole.
The Kansas Jayhawks were consistently inconsistent all season long and they were the same in a wild game against St. John's in the round of 32.  This game was ugly, painful to watch and it appeared KU would die without a fight.  Until they punched back in wild fashion the last 6:00 min only to be denied at the buzzer.  Now what for KU?    There were some other wild moments including Nebraska's crazy game as they advance and ISU rolling Kentucky without the Cyclones' best player.   The Royals have broken camp and have games in Texas against the Rangers Monday and Tuesday.    President Trump's weekend included putting Iran on a 48 hour clock and sending ICE agents to airports to take over security and get things moving.    The mad that slashed a woman with a knife at a park in Olathe Thursday is a three time loser in crime that keeps getting sent back out onto the streets.  And the victim, a music teacher, is named Jamie Trumpp.... it appears she's going to be ok.   Fireworks are back at Mt. Rushmore for America 250, Bill Maher questions how many people know anything and a couple actors lament the death of Hollywood on a podcast.
The Kansas Jayhawks coasted home after building a 26 point lead in their opening game of the NCAA tournament.  It gets tougher from here.  Meanwhile, Mizzou was Mizzou storming back to take a lead with less than 8:00 to play against Miami... and then falling apart.  Is Dennis Gates the long term coach for the Tigers?    Faves went 16-0 on Friday.  Has paying players and unlimited transferring killed Cinderella?   The Royals have their full team back and playing together and none too soon. The season opens Friday.  I've got some thoughts on Jac Caglianone that may not make you very happy.    CBS Radio News is closing for good on May 22.  This is not as big of a deal as everyone is making it out to be.  Elon Musk offers to pay TSA employees.    And the great Chuck Norris is remembered in our Final Final.
Did you know Kansas is ground zero for an underground nuclear test?  It's not the kind you might think of with explosions and all that, no, this is about a new age of nuclear power generated a mile below the surface.    As TSA has staffing shortages, Senator Ron Johnson is calling for the agency to be privatized along with Air Traffic Control.  The post office is broke, maybe we should look at that, too.    The buzz on the Royals is real folks and it's so hot right now we're now going to be disappointed if the Royals don't make the playoffs.  At the same time, we'll talk a little Washington Square Park (Crown Center) which seems to be the big fave for a new ballpark.    St. Louis is hosting the NCAA tourney downtown so they've decided to have a curfew for teenagers.  I have just one question on this and it's a  really good one.
It looks like you could say President Trump has made Venezuela great again as Salvador Perez and his teammates win their first every World Baseball Classic for their home country.  It was a great tournament with a ton of twists and turns and it may just offer up a chance for our president to draw us even closer to Venezuela.  Oh, and Salvy is on KC's Mount Rushmore of sports without a doubt.    Paint a clown face on arrogant Derek Jeter who's trying to talk his way out of being a sloppy broadcaster.  He should start by apologizing to MLB and our fair city.    And we have quite a surprise today as we are in Surprise, AZ for a little spring training.  My lifelong friend Rob Caldwell joins us to preview KU and MU in the Dance and gives you three top picks against the spread.  Trust me, you don't know anyone with as much airplane time every week to study this stuff.
At first reaction you probably thought, "what in the world do the Chiefs want with Justin Fields as backup quarterback?"   Then, as we start thinking about changes to the offense, something becomes pretty clear.  But I'll take it to another level.  What if Andy is going all mad scientist on us and is about to do something no coach has done before?    We had a wild off road experience in the Sonoran Desert on Monday and nearly stepped on a critter with venom 4 times more potent than a rattlesnake.    The World Baseball Classic is set... Bobby junior goes up against Salvy and Mikael Garcia from Venezuela.    Then, as we see all these jihadists popping up it's time to ask the question if their culture is even legal in the United States under our constitution.    And our great friend Gary Lezak has an incredible scare stuck in NYC subway car with a knife wielding lunatic.

Great podcast, I have some ideas for growing your subscriber base. You had the best local radio show for years and I'm sure a lot of people would listen if they knew about your podcast.
