It's 1987 and you're at the movie theater. You love Sylvester Stallone. You drove here in your giant 18 wheeler truck and last week you beat a kid in a sanctioned arm wrestling event. This is your heaven. Also what a wild episode this was. Everything was backwards but it could be described as an all-timer.
The boys are back after a summer holiday only to watch this STUNNER of a film with THREE legends on the screen. De Niro? Check. Penn? Check. DEMI FREAKIN' MOORE? You betch your bottom dollar. Could we see our first 10/10 movie score? This episode could change the way movies are rated in the future!
Episode 139: Anora

Finally, the boys watched the Best Picture Winner from the 2024 edition of the Academy Awards. It won a lot. Was it a winner in the eyes of these two buffoons? A lot to discuss.
Episode 138: The Edge

Episode 138: The Edge

Imagine being in a small plane and being attacked by a bunch of geese which crashes your plane and you land in the forests of Alaska only to be eaten by the best bear actor to ever live. Well that's what happens and more when Alec Baldwin and Sir Anthony Hopkins learn to live and love again. Watch The Edge, on DisneyPlus, now streaming.
Episode 137: Dogma

Episode 137: Dogma

2025-08-0753:24

The boys get religious with the 1999 Kevin Smith film Dogma. Sure, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are also in it, but Alan Rickman and an unnamed singer (spoiler) steal the show. We also catch up after an illness threatened to end a certain podcast host's life. The flu ain't no joke, y'all.
Another beautiful July night has us watching another interesting movie from the middle of the twentieth century. Quite a rambunctious episode where we actually end up rating and reviewing three different movies, before going on some tangents about driving and other stuff.
Episode 135: Rope

Episode 135: Rope

2025-07-1750:04

It's been a hot week so we thought we'd cool down with this Hitchcock classic about killing your pal and stuffing him in a box and then serving a dinner party on the box to unsuspecting guests. A good time was had, three cats made appearances and we talk about what's on Jesse's deck.
The first podcast in the new house goes swimmingly as tahe internet is fast and the movies are good. Refreshed after a moving day from hell, the boys return to answer a months worth of Jeopardy questions and ruin season 12 of Survivor for you. We catch up and get serious about films. It's a new chapter!
Episode 133: Moving

Episode 133: Moving

2025-06-2652:54

Your Mother Ate My Dog went pretty meta this week and watched a movie called Moving as they are moving in real life. It's crazy, but it's just what you can expect every week from the podcast. Other stuff was discussed as well, mostly naps and the science behind how they only work a certain percentage of the time, but honestly it was mostly moving related.
It's the 4th annual birthday episode for Jesse and it does not disappoint. A real milkshake, you could say. Talks about moving, movies, Survivor and more has this episode feeling like a real celebration. Plus Sugar & Spice wasn't even that bad.
The Goonies is a classic film from 1985, which came out before we were even born. We missed the Goonies train and never were in a spot where it was natural to just sit down and watch this film. Until now. There is a special guest host for a few minutes, so that's exciting. Also a lot of moving talk, and I know this is a movie podcast and not a moving podcast, but for the month of June this is now a moving podcast. Enjoy!
Episode 130: Willow

Episode 130: Willow

2025-05-2954:31

Your Mother Ate My Dog finally watched Willow, a fantasy movie from the 1980's starring Warwick Davis and Val Kilmer. No internet issues today! The boys talk about moving, corn, Survivor and Canada Post is not on strike.
The Monkey is a movie based off of a Stephen King short story which was released in the year 2025. I asked Chat GPT to write a description for the episode, but they declined. The boys are back to discuss engagements, possible strike action, and the weather in Penticton. Enjoy!
Warning: French film upcoming. It was Jesse's turn, and he picked the 1995 follow up hit to Delicatessen (see Episode 98), which was a subtitle-only film. We riffed for a long time and talked about the movie briefly, but it was good to catch up. We learn that cars are expensive, and our lives are following a parallel path. What's next?
You asked for it and we delivered! This kult klassic from the year of our lord (Easter reference) 1988 had us terrified but that was mostly because of the bad acting. Everything else was pretty good though. We dig deep into politics in the back half of the show and talk about Walton Goggins and what makes his look the most desirable for the upcoming summer season!
Episode 126: In Bruges

Episode 126: In Bruges

2025-04-1737:34

The boys travel to Belgium this week to take in the sights and watch their iconic film, In Bruges. An episode wouldn't be complete without technical difficulties, but they brave though and put out an action packed tight episode. Easter edition!
The only thing longer and more confusing than the name of the film is probably the entire movie. It was insane, but there were some stand out performances, mainly from John Lithgow and Jeff Goldblum. Also the podcast hosts, Josh and Jesse, put in some work this episode, which we hope our Facebook comments appreciate.
The boys have finally done it: admitted their love for 1990's girl groups, specifically, the critically acclaimed band "Spice Girls" consisting of Baby, Posh, Scary, Sporty, and the unfortunately named Ginger. Turns out, her hair is red, but the film of the week, "Spice World", makes us see that they aren't all just stereotypes of their names. A surprisingly fun movie to watch and talk about, and we hope that you are just as excited to come along for the ride!
Double M McConaughey and Christian Bale star in this thriller about dragons that we had never heard of until an innocent conversation at work turned our worlds upside down. Dragons are so crazy man, and they were just living underground in 2008 until we accidentally woke them up, and they reached their peak in 2020 until a brave English (not Australian) man saved humanity with his strength and quick thinking? Wild times. Anyways. good podcast.
Throw this one in the overrated pile. The boys fight the internet on this one but come out with a fresh outlook on podcasting and a better microphone. The 1980's were a crazy time, but did they have to put bad music over every scene? What was Danny Elfman thinking? This one was trash but we will be back with some fire next week!
