He and his team of 9 colleagues run the glaucoma service and fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. That is a very large hospital and health system that does a very large volume of ophthalmic surgeries across all subspecialities and treats 55,000 patients per year. At the recent Midwest Glaucoma Symposium at the Cleveland Clinic, I learned so much from a presentation by Dr Matthew Brink about the benefits of phaco in glaucoma patients. At a recent ophthalmology meeting, I found a speaker with so many insightful pearls that I found myself taking quite a few notes.
