In this episode we talk about spammy link building, a case study in AI content penalisation, the battles of client education, the SEO industry’s reputation, the joy of how things went viral before the internet was a walled garden, Google’s Xmas update and also hopefully not an actionable threat to Mark Zuckerberg.
This month we talk about ADHD (in a very ADHD way), the economic state of digital marketing, the grifters dragging our industry down, changes to expectations as AI Overviews improve and a lot of quoting people far more intelligent than us.
This month we talk AI content (AGAIN? REALLY?), Google's Anti-Trust Ruling in the USA and real-time work exhaustion.

This month Andrew and Dan discuss DEFINITELY NOT hacking Ticketmaster, some thoughts on the Google API leak and AI results roll out, Edward Bernays (the man who invented all of marketing ever you’ve never heard of) and Wayne Barker’s tip.
This episode includes moaning about the future of AI, moaning about capitalism in general, using data to a strong standard, Google’s handling of reputation spam and open threats of potential cybercrime (maybe).
Andrew and Dan sit down this month to spend far too long letting John Mueller’s robots.txt file live rent free in their head. Also some discussion around Linkedin’s algorithm and the Google Core Update around AI spam. Lots of coffee slurping and a couple of burps too.
After a few month's hiatus, for personal reasons, SEO or DIE is back, hopefully monthly from now on (maybe). This episode touches on career politics, GA4, EEAT as a ranking factor, TikTok as a search engine and SEO tools.
This SEO podcast was never meant to be a 'tell all' type deal, but sometimes something fun, or huge or daft happens that we really want to share with you. This is one of those episodes, and the fun tale is about disavowing. We also talk about Google making their algorithm open-source, give you a guide to jump-starting your content strategy and, er, discuss anarchist theory and the anarcho micronation of Freetown Christiana. If you want to contact us about anything to do with the SEO or DIE podcast, especially if you want to ask us questions then do so through our LinkedIn profiles: Dan - https://www.linkedin.com/in/callis1987/ Andrew - https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrewlaws/
Well, here we are again; we made it to episode 2 , whether you wanted us to or not. In this episode, we're going to tell you as much as we know about Google Bard, then speculate a lot about whether it's going to kill us all. Because that's fun? Right? Other highlights in this episode include Dan explaining exactly how money works and Andrew showing off his ocarina skills. Dan and Andrew also reveal their SEO origin stories, and how those origins have shaped how they work and run their businesses. Listen to the SEO or DIE podcast, where SEO chatter is decorated with obscure musical references and sprinkled with necessary profanity.
Had enough of hyper-bull***t SEO hot-takes? SEO or DIE with Dan Callis and Andrew Laws is the antidote. We're not perfect; we don't have all the answers. But between us we've been ear-deep in SEO for around 35 years. This podcast is for SEO professionals, business owners, marketing people and anyone with ears who can tolerate Suffolk accents, honest yet passionate opinions and the occasional burst of loud laughter. Episode one features: AI, narcissistic SEO, TikTok, the frustration of big agency life, bad bands, bad habits, building websites using notepad, creative swearing, punk rock SEO, Scrapebox, selling SEO like you're running a car wash and putting iPhones in blenders. https://dancallisseo.com/ https://yeseo.io/
